2026 U.S. midterm elections: Place your bets!

Don't rush to judgment.
That’s clever and funny. But remember, Wilson—with the entire spectrum of official politics participating in this civic vaudeville, there simply is no ballot remedy.

At some point, insistence on that course puts our orientation in sharp relief.

Participation in these glorious elections has become an idiot’s errand and a traitor’s task.
We're on a ship where the tiller is too jammed to steer where we really need to go. That does not mean pushing it this way or that is useless.

Wilson, I believe we both possess the native intelligence to know that neither of us finds that naughty, nautical analogy convincing. 😂

Your vote may not matter if the stormtroopers get control of the vote counting!

FBI raid in Georgia highlights Trump’s 2020 election obsession and hints at possible future actions

DENVER (AP) — Donald Trump lost his bid for reelection in 2020. But for more than five years, he’s been trying to convince Americans the opposite is true by falsely saying the election was marred by widespread fraud.

Now that he’s president again, Trump is pushing the federal government to back up those bogus claims.

On Wednesday, the FBI served a search warrant at the election headquarters of Fulton County, Georgia, which includes most of Atlanta, seeking ballots from the 2020 election. That follows Trump’s comments earlier this month when he suggested during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that charges related to the election were imminent.

“The man has obsessions, as do a fair number of people, but he’s the only one who has the full power of the United States behind him,” said Rick Hasen, a UCLA law professor.

Hasen and many others noted that Trump’s use of the FBI to pursue his obsession with the 2020 election is part of a pattern of the president transforming the federal government into his personal tool of vengeance.

The point is simply that the choice between D and R is NOT a matter of indifference.
From what perspective? Remember:
  • Our Debt
  • Our Dollar
  • Our Deteriorating global position
  • Our Domestic Outrage
Once one ceded that this is the genuine [non-partizan] source of the regime’s turn to authoritarian forms of rule, the question of WHICH section of the ruling class gets to order us around matters . . . ‘naught.’

As you know, Wilson [bright boy that you are], these are all interrelated and mutually reinforcing crises.

Our near $40T debt cannot do other than erode support for the Greenback as the world’s reserve currency. [There’s a reason gold just passed $5,000/oz.]. That ‘reserve currency’ is a large part of the reason the US has been able to put outrageous cash into the military.

The world’s governments have very good reason to seek alternative solutions. The fact that they are doing and will continue to do this is testament to the massive systemic crises that are engulfing our entire system.

WHEN the dollar ceases to be the world’s reserve currency, and the regime demands even more military spending [which it will], expect nation-wide hunger to rise like a magnetar [extremely violent magnetic storms in neutron stars].

That — at a time of domestic outrage.

When that storm [based on the confluence of all these crises] breaks upon us?!?!

If you want to defend the premise that yet another glorious election is the ‘fix’ for that — I can only say that you’ve more courage than me.

Christians used to say, “Athenaeus against the world!” Are you sure you want it now to be “Wilson against the world?”

You must have a LOT of courage.

election obsession and … possible future actions
Assuming a midterm election is hosted at all.

Or that voting is not under a gun barrel.

Or resembled a politically legitimate event.

Or that counter-narratives are permitted.

It's going to be interesting to watch. For the first time in history, people observing from other countries will be wondering if there will be an attempt to seize power by means commonly used in latin American banana republics or African kleptocracies!

Sounds like
Anyone here will confirm that I am a revolutionary Marxist. I stand in the Trotskyist movement and support Trotsky’s doctrine of Permanent Revolution.

I have never hidden my orientation and have repeatedly presented myself in irreconcilable hostility to both the bourgeoisie [GOP] and petty bourgeoisie [uppercase ‘D’ Democratic Party] factions of the ruling class.

Both Parties stand to be disbanded, their membership lists, assets and leaderships seized, and each dispatched as Justice requires: assets to rebuild what has been wantonly destroyed, and leaders put on trial for their multitudinous crimes against humanity, against peace and for genocide.

Take care, Hel_Books! Have a good one! 👍

I'm a lawyer. A state bar association is a guild, not a union. A state bar NEVER goes on strike.
I would not have guessed that, and don't believe it. If you really are a lawyer, and a socialist, then holy fucking shit.

Socialism is all teamwork, individualism not allowed. But the people claiming to be socialists tend to be the worst at teamwork.

Like Bernie Sanders, I call myself a socialist but I'm not -- I'm really a left-progressive social democrat -- meaning, a vigorous welfare state and a redistributive tax system WITHIN CAPITALISM.

I would go full socialist if only I could be convinced it is possible for a state-managed economy to run efficiently -- but history provides no examples.

Every day, the Demfucks whittle their chances in the midterms down even more.

Gonna shut down the government again and feebly try to blame the Republicans?

Thank you! The best move at the right time, geniuses.

No Such Thing . . .
Dear Wilson:

The political function of the well-paid operatives that staff the union apparatus is to maintain the domination of the Democratic Party over the working class and to preempt any development of an independent movement from below.

The Socialist Equality Party proposes the organization of a nationwide general strike with the following demands:
  • The removal of ICE agents from Minneapolis and all cities; the disbanding of the organization; and the criminal prosecution of its officials and all agents responsible for murder and other acts of violence.
  • The immediate end to the vicious persecution of immigrants living in the United States.
  • The immediate release from detention of all immigrants who have been swept up in the ICE dragnet.
  • The resignation and prosecution of all members of the Trump administration responsible for the violation of rights guaranteed by the US Constitution.

Stop ICE murders and dictatorship

So Wilson! Do you support this initiative?

That's why your team is losing. Americans really don't want a welfare state. They want jobs that pay their bills, the jobs that were outsourced or given to immigrants and indentured servants. Besides the emotional difference between making their own money and taking government handouts, they want to be done with work at the end of the work day. They don't want to spend extra time with government paperwork and sitting in government offices to get the crumbs that are left after bureaucracy takes its cut.

your team
Mr. Sanders can call himself anything he wants. But he is no socialist that any Trotskyist would recognize. Ditto for AOC and Mamdani or any other pseudo-left, petty bourgeoisie lackeys fielded over the years.

I submit that what working class Americans really wants is to force ann entry directly into the stream of political events. In other words, they want the locus of decision moved out of corporate board rooms, financial institutions, the administration, and into factories, shops, hospitals, schools and neighborhoods.

That is rather more ‘freedom’ and civic participation than the ruling class is prepared to cede. Isn’t it.

Worker-citizen-hostages should recognize and accept their systemic preclusion from US civic life, and create new structures that are outside the control of the regime, the unions, and any capitalist party.

As in 1776, there is no freedom without independence. Yes to ‘Let Freedom Ring.’

No to worker fiefdoms and the retention of political hostages.

Robespierre, Lenin, Pol Pot and all those others so eager to tear things down . . .

. . . but the rebuilding, well, that was a different story.
