2026 U.S. midterm elections: Place your bets!

It begs to be asked, ‘why.’

It’s happened twice already. Calls for a third impeachment demonstrate its inefficacy.

I suggest stripping his immunity, removing him from office and putting him on trial for his multitudinous crimes.

At some point, it becomes necessary to recognize that calls for measures proven to be ineffective becomes a weapon to thwart effective action leading to real change.

Trump has exposed the [uppercase ‘D’] Democratic Party as the class reaction that faction it is.
Impeachment is the first step toward removing Donald Trump from office and trying him for his crimes. The Democratic Party is willing, but the Republicans are in the majority. Start yelling at them.

Because it's better than my other (illegal) alternative.
Strictly speaking, no ‘legal’ alternative exists.

The path forward will never be supported by either bourgeois party. The reason is clear.

Both stand to be disbanded, their assets seized, liquidated and applied to rebuild all that they wantonly destroyed, membership lists seized and those named barred from civic participation for life, their leaders seized and placed on trial for their multitudinous crimes against humanity, against peace, and for all their roles in every genocide which they performed or in which they participated.

These measures will never occur under existing social relations under capitalism.

One may stand with all who struggle for the proletarian revolution to establish a just and lawful regime where these measures will occur. Or one may stand against that and for safe, bipartizan campaigns into perpetuity and be removed WHEN that comes.

What one may not do is to pursue only status quo measures and expect not to be seen as an active enabler and willing accomplice when a day of reckoning comes.

The United States Republic has fallen. It doesn’t exist despite what functions remain.

A lawful state necessitates a second republic based on a radical constitution, negotiated with our neighbors for the United Socialist States of the Americas.

this is why i still think usa politics should have more than just 2 party system and have more political parties in there elections like we do in canadian politics
You have the same single-member-district system of representation in Canada as we have here -- so I don't know why it is possible for the New Democrats to (sometimes) win as a third party, like no third party can do in the U.S.

Maybe it's a difference in political culture.

oh ok

its just that i think in my opinion that having a more political parties system in usa elections would be so much better in someways like there are more parties to pick other than just 2

SHOCK ELECTION LOSS FOR GOP AND TRUMP in LOUISIANA

Republicans were dealt a brutal loss in Louisiana House District 60 where Democrat candidate Chasity Verret Martinez secured a massive victory with a margin over 20 points. This was a eat that Trump won easily.

Dear Wilson:

The political function of the well-paid operatives that staff the union apparatus is to maintain the domination of the Democratic Party over the working class and to preempt any development of an independent movement from below.
Who is paying union officials, who has an interest in doing what you describe:?

The Socialist Equality Party proposes the organization of a nationwide general strike with the following demands:
  • The removal of ICE agents from Minneapolis and all cities; the disbanding of the organization; and the criminal prosecution of its officials and all agents responsible for murder and other acts of violence.
  • The immediate end to the vicious persecution of immigrants living in the United States.
  • The immediate release from detention of all immigrants who have been swept up in the ICE dragnet.
  • The resignation and prosecution of all members of the Trump administration responsible for the violation of rights guaranteed by the US Constitution.

Stop ICE murders and dictatorship

So Wilson! Do you support this initiative?

Edit: Remove gratuitous embedded advertisement.
Sure, why not?

The bookies are giving the Dems 76% odds, right now, to win control of the HoR:

Cautiously optimistic.

The Republicans get stomped in districts where they had like +17 last election.

It could be good if people show up.

Don't get complacent is my suggestion.

Don't be intimidated. They're going to have ICE and militia groups trying to provoke riots and intimidate voters.

Just go, keep your head down, force them to commit murder on camera to stop them from losing elections.

Don't start anything, just vote.

Should we wear body armor?

Should we wear body armor?
Doubt it will help. Maybe.

But these folks like to disarm while you're prone and your weapon is holstered and execute you on the street without a trial. Vest isn't gonna help with stuff like that.

If anything the body armor might be perceived as a "threat" and make you a target. You may be better blending in and strength in numbers, just voting.

But yeah, I would consider armed folks hanging around polling booths this fall to be looking to intimidate voters, and possibly, come up with an excuse to murder someone right there, and that will send people running home. In an important enough district, where it could swing matters, or, early enough to depress voter turnout.

I strongly feel there's going to be a push to end free elections, and all it takes is republicans keeping control of both houses to make it happen. Possibly one, so, any senate race.

Depressing turnout in general is their strategy. They know the maga voter sees no issue with the masked SA running around, so they will still vote.

Many will be disgusted enough not to vote, but that's not the same as intelligently voting.

Metal detectors will probably bloop at you, so. I don't know. Your call on that. I think it will attract undue attention to you, but it's your life. if youre willing to risk it to vote, as long as youre not causing a riot yourself, i'm happy for all votes against maga.

The GOP is going to lose the House ad Trump and his Agenda are going to die. The Democrats need to flip only 5 seats to take the House. It's a done deal.

Arizona Will Turn Blue in the Mid-Terms

Trump can kiss the Mid-Terms goodbye

It takes a special kind of stupid to destroy a thriving economy in less than a year. Personally, I think he's doing it deliberately in an attempt to collapse America- as an agent of Putin's. Either that or he is monumentally stupid.

Who is paying union officials, who has an interest in doing what you describe:?
Well now that would depend on which officials in which unions are under discussion now wouldn’t it.

Bravo for your nonchalant affirmation of the resolution.

Experts issue code red warning on US midterm elections
https://www.alternet.org/elections-2675273133/

“I would argue that the United States in 2025-26 has slid into a mild form of competitive authoritarianism,” said Steven Levitsky, a professor of government at Harvard University and co-author of How Democracies Die. “I think it’s reversible, but this is authoritarianism.”

“Under competitive authoritarianism,” NPR explained, “countries still hold elections, but the ruling party uses various tactics — attacking the press, disenfranchising voters, weaponizing the justice system and threatening critics — to tilt the electoral playing field in its favor.”

Levitsky cited several critical points in September as examples, including the Trump administration’s threat against ABC parent company Disney following host Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks on the killing of Charlie Kirk.
