2112: Project Epsilon

Kelson walked calmly over to the railing, internally berating himself for not blocking the kick as he knew he should have. No matter...the foolish girl would probably break something on her way down...Kelson wouldn't though, he knew better.

Hopping over, Kelson dropped hard to the ground next to Aria...pistol drawn.

"Now listen little girl, I am not here to hurt or kill any of you. In the past I have killed many, many people...you don't want to be recorded as another, do you? Now, my mental powers are stronger then your's, my body is more powerful, and I am better trained in combat then you; not to mention that I am a marksmen and you don't have a gun. Now, lets get up and get back to the barracks before something unfortunate happens. By the way, don't think those people out there won't kill you. They aren't here to rescue you, they're hear to kill you."

Aria Ray

My foot was beginning to swell a little bit. I took one look at Kelson and spit at him, not dignifying his claims with an answer.

Lauren H. Byrnes

Lauren started to slowly coming back to consciousness. She could hear a female voice urging for her to wake up, but the pain was too present in her mind to ever wanting to wake up again. Oddly enough, her body was rested and she didn't think it was anything wrong with it.

Miss…Miss…Miss…please wake up

Lauren opened woke up and opened her eyes with a jerk, immediately jumping back and trying to put some distance between her and the shady character that had been shaking her, nestling against the metallic wall of the cell, trembling.

"What...what...happened?... Who are you, what do want from me?"

Cassandra K. Holden

‘What...what...happened?... Who are you, what do want from me?’

Humph. This was all the thanks Cassandra got by ‘freeing’ Ms. Lauren, being pushed away without so much as a ‘by your leave’.

‘Don’t you remember? We’re are underground, in a secret complex. Hello… Don’t you remember anything at all?’

Cassandra turned to the doorway, and added, ‘I don’t know about you, but Firstorn and me are getting the heck out of here. All hell is breaking loose upstairs. Are you coming…?’

Kelson shakes his head sadly.

"I warned you."

Moving as only those trained for long years can be seen doing, Kelson's hand lashes out like a viper for Aria's throat. The second will bring the pommel of the pistol down on her head when she is securely held.

Galin Firstorn

Galin brought yp his hand, and lauren lifted off the bed and camy to a sitting position. "i'm not sure if i want to break out, but i want to know what the hell is going on! comming?"

Aria Ray

I felt the blood trickle down from my nose, it's not broken but almost. "Big man aren't you. How many years of training does it take to beat up a woman with a twisted ankle."

Suddenly everything came rushing back to Lauren's head and she sprung to action. "Yes I'm coming!" She started "In fact, I know exactly how to escape. I saw the code that Dr. Fields woman used to open the elevator, just before..." Her voice just trailed a bit, before she regained her poise, and proceeded:

"My name's Lauren, follow me."

She started to run towards the elevator shaft, but then something hit her: "The other girl, there's one missing... We can't leave her here! They'll kill her" A tear started to run down her cheek, as once again she remembered her own previous ordeal...

Cassandra K. Holden

My name's Lauren, follow me.

Suddenly, Cassandra felt a wrench in her mind, as if someone had invaded it, and shunted her consciousness to one side. She could not move, as if some part of her is still resisting the commanding voice. The resistance was winning as Cassandra could hardly move, but her conscious self was reasserting itself.

As sudden as they commanding voice appeared, it disappeared. Cassandra was back to her own self, as she noticed Lauren Heading out into the hallway. Firstorn’s suggestion of finding out what was going on before we escaped now seemed like a better idea. She did not know how much trouble is going on upstairs. And she most certainly did not want to be in the thick of a fire-fight.

Saying to Firstorn, ‘Let’s follow her and find out what is going on. She seems to know where she’s going, and what she’s doing. God knows, I don’t. Come on, Galin.’

Cassandra nearly ran to catch up with Ms. Lauren.

The Agents above began hurling various attacks down at the intruders. Others turned and ran to the secured stairways and began running down to meet the attackers.

The intruders shot bullets at the demons coming out of the darkness. Owls clawed at their eyes, and wolves circled in mid air around their feet. The group was effectively stopped at the sixth sub basement! "Don't look at them! Pry open that door!" The woman issued commands while trying to block the brunt of the attack from her commrades.

The door opened and they streamed in, guns blazing as the Agents came around the corner from the stairwell Aria and Kelson were fighting in. Chairs became airborne, huge projectiles flying at the assailants. Bullets wizzed, some finding soft bodies, and burying into the delicate internal organs.

"Get down!" The woman pulled the pin on a gernade and threw it into the fray.

A giant explosion rocked the floor, and the walls vibrated with the intensity of it.

Galin Firstorn

Galin nodded to Cassandra and strode, cartching up to them. noticing that all the while, they seemed to be getting closer to the gunfire, making it louder and lourder. Galin was beginning to become worried. "er, are you sure this wont take us straight into the heat of battle? you don''t know where the attacks are, for all we know, the doors could open and we;re stuck in a crossfire."

"This is all wrong... we need to help the other girl...... we can't go up, yet! We need to find her! Where is she?" Chloë asked her two fellow "recruits".

Before she could get an answer, hell broke loose by the main elevators. There was only one way out: down, through the miraculously unlocked stairway.

"Quick! We must get the hell out of this corridor!"

As gunfire and flying objects filled the air I slumped to the ground and turned over so I was face down on the floor. The next thing I knew I heard a voice tell me to get down, followed by an explosion.

Galin Firstorn

Galin nodded. "quick exit huh? try this."

Galin thrust his arms foreward, and sent the two girls up off the ground and soaring through the air to the other end of the hall, then he did somethign similar to himself. behind him the wall erupted in little pieces and it filled with bulletholes.

Lauren H. Byrnes

Lauren and Cassandra found themselves tossed along the corridor and into the stairwell, only to hit the end wall with a bang. Seconds latter, Galin came rushing in too.

"Jesus, man, try not to do that again until you're sure you can control it! You could have..." Lauren's protest was cut off by the sounds of the explosions at the far end of the complex. The whole of level 6 was now under attack, and she could hear the hurried steps of Project Epsilon military personnel running down the stairs, just above them.

"Quick", she said to her colleagues with genuine apprehension, "we must get down, or well get caught on the crossfire!"

Running down to level 7, they found Aria and agent Eversilver fighting. Aria didn't seam to be doing well, obviously.

"Damn it! Your friends are getting slaughtered upstairs and you're here beating a defenceless girl?" Lauren shouted at the trainer, looking for a chance to help her. The four of them needed to stick together if they were going to get a chance to leave in one piece.

Kelson grabbed the young pain-in-the-ass and, using all his tightly bound muscles, threw her up a stair level, hoping she would land somewhat safely. What was it with these stupid young ones?

He turned towards the door and watched it intently as he spoke, "Go get the fuck back to the barracks this instant. Take Aria and try to stop the bleeding, stupid bitch didn't go unconcious, her fault for running. NOW GO OR I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF!"

His pistol tightly in hand, Kelson slipped next to the stair awaiting his enemies to come around the corner so he might stop the attack here...he knew he wouldn't miss...but did he have enough shots to kill them all?

Aria Ray

I couldn't let him shoot the others. I used my foot that seemed to be alright to kick off of the wall and spin myself around, using my injured foot to sweep Kelson off his feet. As the trainer was falling backwards I yelled to the others, "Quickly attack him now!!"

Falling onto his left arm for support, Kelson's pistol turned to lock onto Aria's forehead, then he fired. From within his mind's eye, he watched as the bullet exploded from his gun, the barrel jerking upward despite his grip...the bullet traveled faster and faster, Aria's head was moving slightly...too late...the bullet reached her...and all was drenched red. Then Kelson snapped back, firing another pair of rounds towards the insolent recruit.

Aria Ray

I had moved in time, the bullet grazed my shoulder, but it still hurt like hell. When I heard two more shots fired I knew it was over, I shut my eyes waiting to feel the warm metal hit me but nothing was happening. As I opened my eyes I saw that the bullets were indeed moving towards me but extreamly slow, in fact everything was in slow motion, except me.

I rolled next to Kelson and pushed the hand that was holding the gun up in the air, towards one of the ceiling lamps. I then pressed his trigger finger, sending a bullet right for the lamp. If I was accurate enough, the bullet would shoot the lamp down and crash it onto my captor's head.

My head began searing with pain for some reason, it was like a massive headache. As I moved back behind Kelson (OOC: This is your character's name as well right?) I saw things were speeding up again, to a normal pace. What the hell just happened?

Several intruders turn the corner at once, their submachine guns blazing. In a last futile effort, Kelson tries to get the kidnapped people out of the way. In the meantime a dozen plus bullets rip through his body.

The thirty-seven year old special operations officer falls to the ground, blood pouring from his his body, and dies.

OOC) I sent Lady J a pm exactly why, but I'm out of this thread. BTW, PMtick, you bounced off that wall with a sprained ankle.

Cassandra K. Holden

Cassandra was too shook up to say anything, especially when one minute she was on solid ground, and the next just hurtling through empty air. She landed painfully on her buttocks.

Still rubbing to check if any bones were broken, Cassandra glared for a minute at Firstorn clenching and unclenching her fist at the same time. But then the shockwave of a huge explosion rocked the floor. All Cassandra could do at that point was just trying to stay stood up.

To add to all that confusion, were bullets zinging from everywhere. Firstorn was right. The whole group have just gotten themselves out of the frying pan and into the fire, metaphorically speaking.

When things quieted down just a little bit, Cassandra could see that both Firstorn and Lauren were unhurt. There was also this other girl there, the one who was taken away for testing by Agent Eversilver. She was bleeding profusely, and if not stopped, she would bleed to death.

Just as soon as as it stopped, the bullets, shrapnel, and pieces of the wall started raining again. Cassandra bunched herself closer to the wall, hoping that there was not a bullet with her name on it.

More agents came down the stairs brandishing laser rifles and their minds. The attackers at the end of the hall took cover, ducking into rooms and hiding behind corners.

The agents ran past the recruits, one stopping to check Kelson's pulse, and shaking his head as he stood up. One agent closed his eyes and at the other end of the hall the attackers dropped their weapons and began to fight each other hand to hand. The other agents rushed in leaving the stairwell and the recruits.

Lauren H. Byrnes

The three of them rushed to Aria. She was a mess, not only she had a sprained ankle, swelling fast, but blood was gushing uncontrollably out of her shoulder wound. Lauren was thinking it was a miracle she had only be shot once, but still it didn't look good.

Cassandra was the first to get to her, and started to try and stop the haemorrhage, using ripped pieces of her own suit to make bandages. Lauren didn't know what to do, she had never found herself in this kind of situation before... She had a lot to learn.

"We need to get her out of here" she started, and after looking around to assess the nature of the facilities in that level, she looked at Galin "Maybe you should carry her, there's bound to be some kind of medical centre in here... Just use your arms this time, she's in no condition to be tossed into walls"

And with that, she started to carefully walk down the main corridor in Level 7, looking for an unlocked door.

Aria Ray

"...errr....you where.......in the room.......feels like my mind is on fire." My body went limp, I could't even find the strength to move.

Fields

Fields searched the 6th floor trying to find the recruits. She passed the hallway where the battle raged and one agent called out to her, "They're in the stairlway, get them the hell out of here!"

Fields ran to the stairwell and looked down. "Oh shit, if she dies I'm dead!" She ran up to the two carrying Aria, "Come on, follow me, there is a med lab this way." She ran down the steps, opening the doorway to level seven and holding it for the recruits.

She led them through a maze of secruity and research labs to a medical bay. "Put her on the table, I've got to stop this bleeding." She turned her back to reach for a tray of instruments and bandages.
