All the girls walk by, dressed up for each other
And the boys, do the boogie-woogie
On the corner of the street
And the people passing by, stare with wild wonder
Adn inside the juke box roars just like thunder

new one

The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams.
Upon the instruments if death
The sunlight brightly gleams.
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams,
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
As silence drowns the screams.

I know, I know I didn't get the group above.. but ! I just had to!

How's this -

When I look up to the sky
I see your eyes, a funny kind of yellow
Rush home to bed, I soak my head
I see your face underneath my pillow
I wake next morning, I'm still yawning
I see your face looking through my window

---------
what do you think?:rose:

Try this one...

***, Mama let me be
Don’t come hangin' around my door
I don’t wanna see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin'old with you
Now woman, stay away...

Everybody here is out of sight

they keep things loose
they keeps things all right
And everybody is ...

King Harvest--Dancin' In The Moonlight

Try this...(Whiskey Bar SHOULD be the title, but it isn't)

Well, show me the way
To the next whiskey bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why

Show me the way
To the next whiskey bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why

For if we don't find
The next whiskey bar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must die

Alabama Song.

Hey I stalked you from the GB j.m.b.

Now I'm busted.

I didn't know this thread was here though, so I'm glad I did!

Do I just put up some lyrics to play? I'm in :)

Dry your eyes, my little friend
Let me take you by the hand
Freddie get ready
Rock steady...

That's the Lizard King (Jim Morrison) & I thnk the title is "Moon oif Alabama" The song is actually by Kurt Weil, the German composer who worked in the 20's (he wrote "The Three Penny Opera" from whence came "Mack the Knife"). Weil was fascinated with things American but didn't speak English of know much about the US. That's why the words sound so screwy.

Okay. All I know of this one are the following lines:

Just got back from Illinois
Out the back door, Oh boy!
Look at all the happy people
Standing on the lawn

Creedence Clearwater Revival--Looking Out My Back Door

Another...(from 1966)

I went to a dance just the other night
I met a girl there she was out of sight
I asked a friend of mine who she could be
he said that her friends just call her...(next is the song title)

Okay, you guys are good. I admit it.

Let's see if you can figure out thew songs from just two lines:

(1)
When we met I was sure out to lunch
Now my empty cup tastes as sweet as the punch

(2)
Who cares what games we choose?
Little to win, nothing to lose

Okay, (2) might be hard. That sounds like it could go in a lot of songs, but youi can get it. Think psychedelia,
