try this one...

When it all goes crazy and the thrill is gone
When the days get rainy and the nights get long
When you get that feelin you were born to lose
Starin' at your ceiling feelin' the blues

When there's so much trouble that you want to cry
When your love has crumbled and you don't know why
When your hopes are fading and they can't be found
Dreams have left you waiting friends let you down...

I'll be nice...that song that I posted earlier is by Firefall--Just Remember I Love You.
and jmb...yes--Dancing Bare is still here...was 77 and sunny today...rain coming tomorrow.

Here is the song that was going thru MY head all day...

He had white horses,
and ladies by the score
All dressed in satin,
and waiting by the door ...

(Chorus has the song title)

White lace and feathers,
they made up his bed
A gold-covered mattress,
on which he was laid

is that.....

One of my all time fav bands... ELP - Lucky Man.
And I thought Knights in White Satin was the Moody Blues.

We were together since we were five
She was so pretty
Emma was a star in everyone's eyes.
And when she said she'd be a movie queen nobody laughed;
A face like an angel, she could be anything.

--------
I have a hard time getting the orig singer of this song. At one time I had the 45.

It was remade by Urge Overkill.

Hot Chocolate was the original artist and Nights in White Satin IS the Moody Blues...ELP and Moody Blues are two of my faves.

These are SAD lyrics...

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And makin’ love was just for fun
Those days are gone

Livin’ alone
I think of all the friends I’ve known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody’s home

Eric Carmen ... All By Myself...

When the flame of love surrounds you ,
and the world may be unkind ,
I'll put my lovin' arms around you
take you far from this place and time......

You and I been in love too long
to worry about tomorrow
here's a place where we both belong ....

Oh Spiderlady, it was not meant as a dig to you that I said moody blues for the answer as much as it was to test my own brain. Please don't not post because of that!

It just shows my age that I remember some of this junk and the stuff that clogs my brain when I should be thinking of more stuff that's important. If not saving the planet then at least trying to find the solution to getting the freaking white russian stain out of my carpet.

I have heard the song that Mistress Rain posted and can't come up with it, in fact it's ricocheting in my brain right now. So please someone answer and take me from the misery of not remembering that song!

Ambrosia...You're the only woman....

Down in Jamaica they've got lots of pretty women
steal your money then they break your heart

Lonesome Sue , she's in love with Old Sam
taken from the fire to the frying pan.....

David Jacobs

on and on (shit - I had to edit to remember it right!)

That it? I can't remember if anyone else sang it.

"I can walk down the street, there's no one there
Though the pavements are one huge crowd.
I can drive down the road; my eyes don't see,
Though my mind wants to cry out loud. "

I Feel Free--Cream

A bit obscure...(He had bigger hits but I love this one.)

It's not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that it's not easy,
To be calm when you've found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you've got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

Cat Stevens, "Father and Son" ;)

I still love his music...

"I know you won't believe me
But I'm certain that I did see
A mouse playing daffodil
All the band was really jumping
With Jack Rabbit in there thumping
I found that I couldn't sit still
I just had to make it with them
Cause they play my kind of rhythm
And the bees hummed in harmony
And the owl played is oboe
Then the frogs guitar solo
It was all too much for me"

Moody Blues--Nice To Be Here...Here's a set of lyrics that we had to discuss in my Writing 101 class in college for their symbolism.

A long long time ago
I can still remember how that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died
So...

Don McLean "American Pie"

Whoa listen to the sound of the hot country band
Boot heels a shufflin' on the dance floor sound
Hum a song, play some pong, eat a deviled egg
Temperature is risin' better pop another keg
Fifteen may get ya twenty, that's all right...

(Last line omitted, it contains the title)

Song was right lol It was Stephen Bishop.

Well I tried to make it Sunday
But I got so damned depressed
That I set my sights on Monday
And I got myself undressed.
I ain't ready for the altar
But I do agree there's times
that a woman sure can be
a friend of mine.

Sister Goldenhair--America

Another set...

Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in a market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver knows he's doing alright
Hear him whip the women, just around midnight...

Rolling Stones "Brown Sugar"

"I live my life like there's no tomorrow
And all I've got I had to steal
Least I don't need to beg or borrow
Yes I'm living at a pace that kills"

Runnin' with The Devil--Van Halen

Here's one...

It's getting near dawn,
When lights close their tired eyes.
I'll soon be with you my love,
To give you my dawn surprise.
I'll be with you darling soon,
I'll be with you when the stars start falling.

I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going...

" You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies.
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been.
Gonna love you baby, here I come again."
