A different kind of communion

First off: no, this is not a cannibal thread. There are clear rules regarding that…and it’s been done. Clown in a cornfield 3 had a pretty great example of it but it’s a common horror fixture

Anywho: communion is something I have complicated feelings about…and like with anything I have complicated feelings about, I feel there’s a story in it. The idea of connecting with your god via taking a piece of them inside you is an interesting one. Though there are other practices where a god might be channeled through someone.

So idea: maybe fantasy setting, maybe fictional remote tribe.

Missionary goes to preach to a people who have never heard of their god but the people have their own god or gods they worship and they find connection over the act of communion. The missionary is intrigued and asks if he might witness their version of communion. The locals invite him and to his shock a woman is laid naked atop an altar naked and a ceremony is performed over her…and then the congregation is invited to set upon her

Now of course the darker version is obvious but what if the missionary was dragged along and when he gets to her, instead of seeing an exhausted woman, he sees something glowing in her eyes and to his horror and wonderment he realizes that through whatever ritual was performed, it seems a god is now on the altar and is inviting him to satisfy his lusts and desires while also taking her essence into him.

Or a deity that feasts on seed, but it's gotten bored with the local flavor and wants to have something imported.

An interesting idea where the woman becomes an avatar for a love goddess or a demoness poses as the goddess to receive the life energy of the congregation.

Or the god left, and now to keep up the appearance that the god is still around, she claims to be the avatar of the god and continue the rites. But then crops start to fail, and she has to keep coming up with more elaborate reasons why, which leads to crazier sex stuff to make it seem like it's the worshipers' faults for not being creative enough in their offerings, until someone finally catches on.
