Gregory Smith was once a quite attractive man. Once. The years were just starting to get him, his once muscled belly starying to grow fat after he had to abandon his activities in the local university. He had a misunderstanding with his department colleagues, and that had made things quite difficult to bear.
But it did not matter anymore. He had decided to settle down, taking a special license to work on his researches back home, only showing up to lectures and seminars. At 37 years old, that was probably for the best.
He brushed his well-trimmed hair. Boy, you're getting old. He was starting to lose his shape, the muscular legs and arms of a rugby player starting to grow lazy from inactivity, his broad shoulders and tall height making him look like that teacher anyone had once. His grey eyes, togheter with his short beard made him look more austere than he actually was. But that's not the problem here.
The problem was that his niece was coming. To stay some undetermined amount of time.
She should be arriving soon. According to Greg's brother, James, Fallon was quite a difficult girl to get along with. Even though she was smart and applicated to her own objectives, she was a 'stubborn little bitch', Jamie had called her.
He knew already that Fallon had given up school a year ago, but that's all. Greg really didn't maintained a close relationship with the rest of his relatives, living almost two days by car away. Although Shivering Harbour wasn't the smallest city around, it's university turned it to be a well-movemented place. He had to talk to her once she was here.
He had given her the instructions on how to reach his apartment downtown. They had spoken through the cell phone just about 5 minutes ago, and she had told him she was about to be there.
Greg only hoped for his niece as the apartment's doorbell rang thrice.
