A Dragon Rider's Bond

Melonena quickly cleaned up camp, not worrying about breaking her fast, as she placed all her supplies back on the pony. Ready to go … she followed Lorhirlondonis up into the rougher mountain passes. It was still beautiful weather and the hiking was pleasant. Melonena told the dragon of her up bring, her parents, and where she had studies magic.

She had again dressed in the silk blouse, which strained to contain her large chest. She had wrapped it differently today, more like a tube top, and it was low revealing a lot of cleavage. She also wore a comfortable skirt that showed off her sexy back end. She had picked her most practical but still alluring clothing. Additionally, she had added a vest, but it was not closed and hung loosely as she walked. She still had on her large single opal necklace, that hung from her neck, drawing attention to her considerable cleavage. She used her staff as a walking stick for the trip. Before she knew it, they had reached his lair. A dark tunnel into the side of the mountain.

Lorhirlondonis arrived at his lair and looked around, making sure everything was alright. Everything seemed in order, nothing was missing, which indicated that no one or nothing had entered while he had been away.

The thought of losing any amount of wealth from his hoard caused a feeling a nervousness and fear. Something not uncommon for his species. Many thieves thought that simply taking only a few gems or a couple of jewelry wouldn't be noticed by a dragon. They were wrong. After years of lying on their hoard, counting and examining their wealth, dragons tended to memorize every piece of their treasury.

Lorhirlondonis walked over beside Melonena and lowered his head, so that he was a eye level with her.

I don't have much, in the way of furnishings, that would suit a humanoid. However there are several small alcoves and caverns in here that could be useful as a chamber for resting. They were here before I arrived. Animal caves once. I don't know. I can create furnishings for you in one of them. Thereby turning a dreary cave into an extensive chamber.

The cave was very different than what she had expected. It was clean and organized, she might even say it had a civilized feel to it … “cultured” she thought. Like the home of a Honmar gentleman … who would read books while smoking his pipe and drinking brandy. The cave also did not smell like a cave … the air was fresh with a wisp of the now familiar smell of the silver dragon. The scent of falling rain. The treasure mound was extensive, Lorhirlondonis was a very wealthy dragon.

“wow … this is very nice. You have a wonderful home.” Melonena said … still looking at all the wonders in the cave. “Please don’t worry about me … I’ll be able to make do with one of these alcoves”. When she had first been in the magic school, she shared a room with 10 other students, her only personal space was her bed and the space under it. This was much better. “If you don’t mind … I’ll explore a bit” she said as she checked out each alcove and small adjoining cave. Soon she was back and had found the one she liked best. There were several rock selves in it, prefect for her books, one that could be used for a desk, and finally, a long low one, she could turn into a bed, with the right amount of blankets for a mattress. Add a few female touches like flowers, she had her room.

She headed back out of the cave, where Lorhirlondonis and her had agreed to leave the pony. There was a still grass there and if the weather got bad, the pony could use the cave as shelter. She got her supplies and headed back to her new room. It was mid-day by the time she had unpacked and gotten settled. She came to Lorhirlondonis

“come look at what I have done to one of your alcoves” She asked him excitedly.

Lorhirlondonis, getting up from his relaxed napping position upon his treasure hoard, shifted into his humanoid form, that of a pale skinned silvered hair human, and followed Melonena to see what she wanted to show him.

He had some difficulty walking along side her, considering he wasn't use to walking on only two legs. "How you humanoid get around with only two limbs still perplexes me. Humans, elves, dwarves, orcs.... I can't wrap my mind around it. It feels odd not having my wings or tail to help support and balance me."

When they reached the alcove, Lorhirlondonis scanned his surroundings. What he saw was very impressive. She had changed the old deserted alcove into a creation that didn't even resemble a hint of it's original formation. The detail she had put into the project in such a short timeframe was what caught his attention.

That's what caused him to envy humans. They were a short lived species, but they could accomplish goals and achievement in a much shorter time than any other species could.

Melonena showed that trait with the outcome of the project. He could tell that she used magic, which only impressed him even more. "It's amazing, if there's one thing that I like more that wealth and magic, it detailed architecture."
