A Gallery: Delights & Splendors of Cascadia

A space between the cracks.
a small remnant of water as the tide recedes.
the stone so smooth from water polishing it as the tide comes and goes
year in and year out for centuries.

light reflected, a moment captured, life stops... for a heartbeat.
take it in.

Brand new super cool video of the Alaska Way Viaduct/SR99 tunnel (in Seattle) project taken with a drone. (This is a huge underground highway tunneling project akin to the Boston big-dig) The tunneling machine has been affectionately named "Bertha"

Holy shit! That's so cool!

Thanks, I don't think I'd have seen that otherwise. I've got to start checking out more local websites from around the country. I'm fascinated by big cities and what goes on in them. (Shocker, huh?) Vegas was small when I was growing up but now it's a major city so it's been super interesting watching it change. I think Seattle is a good deal bigger though. So I should check it out more.

View through a window. Fort Ross, CA
(This is the most southernmost outpost of the Russian expansion into North America during the fur trade era)

The light breaking through the clouds and reflecting off the water is spectacular in that picture.
