A Gallery: Delights & Splendors of Cascadia

Its the Lonely Mountain where Bilbo Baggins and the seven dwarves are going. :D
Of course it is. :D:kiss:

Nor did I. I have visited the ones east of Mt. Hood out by Dee.

I just found this Link>Oregon Lavender Destinations

great link! Thank you Shank.

all that delicious wool makes my mouth water.

I have been thinking about what to do about how badly this thread has been shredded by my image hosting service at Photobucket. I am seriously considering abandoning this thread altogether and starting fresh. (I am thinking Cascadia Gallery II) I know we are not at all close to 5000 posts, but...

well - thoughts?

I just feel very discouraged. It will take me a few days to a week to migrate my images to a new photo service. It took me a long time to collect the images to prepare to start this thread - I have nearly 1000 images to migrate. And then weeks and weeks to repair links which matters to me, but likely matters to few others. Sigh.

Please don't be discouraged CB - it has always been a great thread to visit. :rose:

Please do migrate the images, CB. It's a really beautiful collection, and I'm certain that it's a source of great pleasure to more people than you know... You can do it slowly. We'll wait...

(Is it possible that it's just a glitch at their end? I don't use this hosting service, but it seems to me like either they've simply screwed up, or they're going to get a real backlash for suddenly trying to screw their users...)

It would be a great shame to lose all the material from this thread. It's such a relaxing and tranquil place to come to. Photobucket has been having issues lately, so maybe the problem will be resolved at their end?

I am definitely gonna migrate my images. And no, it is not a glitch on Photobucket. Unless I decide that i am made of money and acquiesce to what is essentially blackmail.

The question is... to repair all of the links currently a mess, or not? Just keep posting or start a new thread. I kind of think I will repost my old images any way... they are beautiful and most will not recognize them. I just do not like threads with so many gd holes in them as this one has now..

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

I found out earlier today that it's not a glitch and that they're going to charge a ridiculous amount of money to release the images. Not very pleasant of Photobucket at all in my opinion. I think that it might be easier to start a new thread or put a link in the first post to where the pictures begin again if you prefer to continue this one.

Yes. I have determined this is the case as well. Definitely not a glitch. It turns out they have targeted frequent users (who regularly link images to a third party site...) And since I have been regularly linking images to Lit for the purposes of this thread - one or two a day most days for almost 2 years... I am classified as a heavy user and they would like to charge a heavy sir charge for this service. BULLSHIT.

I am in the process of migrating all of my images. Am still cogitating on the best approach re how to move forward. Still open to all y'alls best thoughts/ suggestions.

I HATE those black photobucket warning boxes all over this beautiful thread. UGH! (cry):caning::(

I understand how you feel from back in the day when Lit did a wholesale removal of what they thought was X-rated material. I lost several threads of years of photos. I use Tumblr for most of my posts now but there is no way to file and later find an image. I also use Flickr some, there are ways to set up files of photos and there are ways to link photos of different sizes using right-click options - Flickr does not offer the 3rd party link clearly as photobucket does, but I have found a way to make it work.

This is one of my photos hosted on Flickr that I posted here using the right-click "copy link" function.

Thank you Shank. I remember when you lost some threads years ago. Ugh.
Sigh.

I am finding Imgur much more congenial for my posting purposes and will migrate my images there. I had used it already for many of the images on my story thread with Mr T, but was in the habit of using Photobucket for my cascadia pics and so have been a dual platform user for almost a year now.

Great! Hope it works out. Thanks for all you do to keep this lovely tread alive. :rose:

Okay folks... It is official... I have been removing all of the nasty broken links in this thread...
I have migrated all of my images to a new photo service, and I am going to continue posting on this thread.
And because I seem to be deeply stubborn, I am going back and slowly repairing the links in the thread with images.
{Are you tempted to go and see what might be back in the ancient pages? I hope so... but no hurry.. it will take me weeks to fix all of the links... maybe longer}

I will be reposting images that were previously posted (as well as lots of new ones ~ never fear... I am always taking pics) -
so if you have seen it before... just greet it like an old friend. That is how I think of many of these images.

I hope I do not bore any of you to tears.

I do love that so many of you visit this thread as something different on Lit. Love you all.
