A game for Geeks.. Quotes..

Sorry about the wait. I have been a little busy. Here it goes. And it's a long one.

"It was different. It was light-filled red waves breaking on a beach again and again -- a salt-stung fullness. It was being the waves and riding the waves. The bed lifted, the house and the lawn and the garden and the street and the night, one ocean of liquid coral roses. Afterward, [she] was washed ashore with her head on his chest. She could hear the echo of herself inside him."

i didn't, but i'm reasonably intelligent enough to Google a quote before i post it this game.
Heh, I was hoping you were a Stargate fan too and got inspired by the show to use a quote from it! :p

I am thinking it is probably not from Pirates of the Caribbean either, though it could be.

Don't suppose it's from the comic on Keenspace "Jack"?
Negative.

i'll give the answer at Midnight unless someone comes up with the correct one.

One hint. It has nothing to do with Stargate.

So is it Chronicles of Riddick? It was spoken by Riddick to "Jack" during the Crematoria prison scene.

One of life's weird coincidences that I happened to be watching the dvd of it and remembered the quote.

Congrats ... and one of the most in your face domination scenes i've seen in quite a while for public consumption.

Alright, here's my quote so that the game may continue...

"Of the manner of thrusting, these women are noisy and energetic, and of such odor that I was obliged to stop my breath for the duration; also they are given to bucking and twisting, scratching and biting, so that a man may be thrown from his mount..."

I am sorry that it's rather long, but I thought it was amusing so I left most all of it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the one hit google ... wicked grin.

The piece is named "Eaters of the Dead" by Google, although i recognize characters from the film The 13th Warrior.

Here's the link -> http://www.thuongviet.com/entertainment/enovels/MC.EatersoftheDead.doc

And the full paragraph ...

I cannot say whether the Northwomen truly believe as Herger spoke, but verily I discovered that they were much amazed at me by virtue of my surgery, which practice is unknown among them, as they are dirty heathens. Of the manner of thrusting, these women are noisy and energetic, and of such odor that I was obliged to stop my breath for the duration; also they are given to bucking and twisting, scratching and biting, so that a man may be thrown from his mount, as the Northmen speak of it. For myself I accounted the whole business more pain than pleasure.

Hmm....a whole day and no guesses. I'm impressed. I didn't think this one would be that difficult.

Well, one more day I suppose and then if no one answers I'll give it.

Just for giggles a hint is that it is a literary quote.

Try again ... look at the timestamp of your last post and mine immediately above.

Sorry, irony is like that. Yes, it is from Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton. You recognize the characters because the movie 13th Warrior was loosely based on the book.

Anyway, congrats. I always rather liked the depiction on the Northwomen and their love interests. :D
