Hopeful Romantic

Once, long ago, I dreamed of a love
so intense that my heart would burst.
Then, one day not so long ago,
I thought I found that one true love.

The kind of love that knows
every little thing about you
without even asking, just knowing.
That is what soulmates meant to me.

Now, older and wiser from heartache,
I know love is more deeper than that.
Now, I know that my soulmate
wouldn't hurt me so if he knew me.

To know love is know completion.
I've never known that.
What I know is this:

Thanks for coming by Yank. Letting out the romantic inside us, seems to me anyway, like a return to innocence. Many, if not all of us, have been battered and bruised by loves lost...it takes a leap of faith to put your heart out again. The contradiction is that even though by doing so, we may be hurt again, to not do so closes off a part of us that is needed to truley live as happy, healthy people.
