Karen Carpenter was an outstanding, skilled drummer, and had a three-octave range with near perfect pitch. Her brother could play almost any instrument you put in front of him, could compose, and engineer. That they got pigeon-holed was the fault of the Draconian contracts record companies could hold artists to. The Carpenters were amazing.

I was just being silly. I liked the Carpenters. The Captain & Tennille not so much.
