A Vampire's Beginning. (Closed for cnuveau)

"I'd expect it's going to taper off soon." He said trying not to get too overly optimistic. "I think the goal now would be to keep the ones you have engaged and subscribing." He couldn't help but think though, with a world population of nearly 8 billion people, she's only reached just over 1 in a million people.

His mind then turned to her question about the setup for keeping the source of the funds undetected. "I don't really have any concerns about that. The sums of money being moved through that organization make this look like a pittance. I'm sure some are in the range of millions a day. We're barely a blip on their radar."

Lacey actually looked relieved, they may not set anything off. "Good, and it's not a one-off thing? They're paying that, what?" A blink, curiously looking at him.

He shook his head "Oh no, not a one off thing at all. This company takes a small percentage fee for every dollar moved. It's quite a large and lucrative operation for them. It's also one of the reasons I feel safe they aren't going to divulge any information about you... us. They have much larger customers that happen to also be dangerous that would look at a breach of trust like that unfavorably."

"No. I mean the people. It's $10, and that's it?" A blink. She hadn't quite perhaps paid attention to the fact it was monthly. A monthly net of $100,000. "Or are they paying it again for some reason?"

"Oh!" he said a little surprised that he hadn't been clear from the outset. "No, it's $10 per month as long as they subscribe. So if you they want to read new entries it's $10 every month. So if you can keep them coming back that's $100,000 a month indefinitely." As he said it he couldn't really help but be a little taken aback by that sum of money. "$1.2M a year" he said as he fell quiet.

Lacey drew in a breath. "...at least we know we're secure. Even if another person never signs on." A Movement to lean her forehead to his. "..I'm not an expensive kind of girl. I like my clothes to be casual, my jewel's to be fake, and cuddles... off you."

"I'm not much for the flash myself" he said tilting his head to give her a kiss. "I'm much more interested in security and taking those cuddles from you." He thought for a moment. "Though a place with a big bathtub would be nice."

Kissing him even as she listens to him. "If it all works out. We can find one." Then grinning at him. As she laid herself down on his chest, squishing bare boobs to him. "Oh, you need food. Before it gets to much later."

He nodded but was really only interested in snacking on those breasts pressed into his chests at the moment.

climbing out of bed he pulled on some shorts and a tee shirt then made his way to the kitchen. Though it was the middle of the night it felt like lunch time so he made himself a sandwich then sat down at the table to eat. The adjustments to nights was still very strange to him. Breakfast at dusk, lunch after midnight. Dinner a little before dawn. It all felt a little foreign.

As he ate he allowed himself to day dream about what life might be like with money not a concern. They type of freedom that might afford them.

Lacey finds a t-shirt of his and follows him out. Moved to settle beside him there. "I'm glad we're on the same page with it all." Popping up she made herself a coffee, "Drink?" While finding out what he might want there. Her inner thoughts are more on a house. Her first house. Purchased with a man she loved no less. Oh, god. Her parents. A blink and a moment of a weird expression on her face. Christmas was in under two months. They were in the second week of November. "..Christmas." She suddenly found herself saying.

Jason snapped out of his thoughts and turned to her. “Christmas?”

"I think my parents emailed me, saying they wanted me there for Christmas." A slow blink, then a mouthful of her coffee. Since he said nothing about the drink she'd asked him about. She made him coffee putting it in front of him.

Jason thought about the conundrum for a moment. "yeah, that's a tough one. Guess we'll need to figure out just how much sunlight you can take at some point. Maybe try getting out on cloudy days and the like to see how it goes. Can't imagine you'd be able to stick completely to a night routine visiting your parents." He took a sip of coffee as he finished.

"Is going to be difficult." Said while she drank more coffee. "You'd come with me to see them?"

“If you’d like me to meet them I’d love to come.” He thought about how awkward that was going to be but if they were going to be together it was going to have to happen sooner or later.

Out of curiosity he asked. “Where do they live? Driving distance?”

"Just a couple of hours. Far enough for me to have privacy, close enough it's not half a day in a car." Lacey explained. "..it might be a little odd for them but there's actually some years difference between them. Maybe it will help?"

“We can only hope” he offered with a nervous laugh before finishing his sandwich.

He stood to rinse his plate in the sink as she sipped her coffee. His eyes were drawn to her form leaning against the counter in that tee shirt which did little to cover her thighs. A sense of contentment washed over him. There was something just so right about this wonderful half naked beauty being with him here. His mind drifted back to his previous day dream of their life together.

As he fell into silence, so did she. For different reasons, she was simply trying to do the mental gymnastics over going home in under two months. Then, "and what do we do about the bar?"

A brief shrug then “That’s the beauty of your idea to have Mike stay on. I’m sure we’d close for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He can cover the rest I’m sure. “. He paused for a minute thinking more. “With school out and businesses mostly closed it might make sense to close till New Year’s Eve anyway.”

He made a mental note to talk to Mike about that.

Lacey nodded slowly. "Alright, well we can ask him tomorrow." She reached out touching his hand then slowly. "With a sort of plan for it all and questions. we don't really have anything else to do tonight? Are you staying awake or catching some sleep?"

Her fingers touching his hand produced a tingle that ran up his forearm. “I’m trying to stay up so I can sleep during the day and be fresh tomorrow night to finalize things.” He said interlacing a few of his fingers with hers.

"Maybe we should curl up under a blanket on your couch, and watch something together?" She'd never really been one for TV, but the appeal of watching something while being cuddled up close with him did highly appeal.

“That sounds like a fantastic idea!” He said as he gave her a peck on the lips.

He set about retrieving a large blanket from his entry closet then turned on the tv and found a movie to put on after scanning the channels. Finally he laid against the back of the sofa with the blanket tucked behind him as he lifted the other side allowing her to slide in.

Lacey follows him and when its all said and done crawls under that blanket with him then. "..pretty wonderful though right?"

“It is! “ he said as her wrapped her in his arms under the blanket and kissed her cheek.
