Erin sighed as she sat down at her desk. It had been a grueling day already and it was only 11:00AM. She was a vet in the small town of Rockport Louisiana; about twenty to thirty minutes south of Lafeyette. Her usual charges were pets; dogs, cats, reptiles, birds; but she did have the occasional wildlife visitor. A lot of the time wildlife specialists brought in animals for her to look at and take care of, even though that was not her specialty.

Erin had just logged onto her computer when her receptionist, Jamie, stuck her head in the door. "Hey Erin," she said (Erin insisted on a casual relationship with her employees). "Just got a call and we might be having someone come in here soon with a raccoon who may be rabid. The wildlife receptionist gave the guys name but she said it so fast I didnt catch it. I think he must be a new guy, or have just transferred here from somewhere, 'cause it wasn't a name I recognized". Erin nodded.

"Thats fine," she told her receptionist. "I don't have another appointment until two anyway, so just let me know when they get here". Jamie gave her a thumbs up, accompanied by a snap of her gum and went back to the waiting room. Erin turned back to the computer to try and accomplish a few things before the raccoon got there.

Ricky was riding down the backroads of Avery Island when a call blared over the two-way radio in the Black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck gleaming with polish so fine you could see yourself in it. The truck was glossy black except for the bright two inch tall yellow block letters which spelled out "WILDLIFE" above the shield of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and the word "AGENT" in the same bright yellow lettering below the symbol. In the back of the pickup was a fury bandit. A fifteen pound snapping snarling pack of trouble a common raccoon still clinging to the top of the live trap which was captured less then 15 minutes ago.

Picking up the mike and pressing the button to talk, "Dispatch I captured the coon should I take it over to Doc Morgan to get it checked out for rabies?", his voice with lofting though the air with a soft Cajun twang.

"Negative Williams. Doc Morgan is on vacation take it to the vet in Rockport I've already made a two O'clock appointment they are expecting you."

"Roger I'm on my way."

Turning left onto Highway 90 and passing Landry's Seafood House before his left hand places the mike back in its holder and twisting his neck slightly glancing in the rearview mirror to ensure his captive was settling down but, that wasn't the case. The raccoon was gnawing at the chicken wire trap trying its best to escape. Hopefully the little guy will be alright and after the doc check give it a clean bill of health he could release it far enough away people it could live a long and happy life, he thought to himself.

Within minutes he saw the Bayou Vet sign on the left. That must be the place he mused as he pulled into he parking place. Before getting out of the truck he double checked the paper work documenting where the animal was found, what type of condition he surmised it was in, and most importantly he had stamped the paperwork with the Vermilion Parish stamp so when he returned to the office the info on the raccoon could easily be entered into the databank just in case the animal was infected and the Parish health department could be notified.

As he stepped out of the truck he ran his hand through his dark brown hair and straightened the wrinkles out of his pants if he was anything he was meticulous in both dress and manner. Walking around the back of the truck and took one last look at that ball of trouble before covering the trap with a sheet to help calm the animal. Raccoons like most animals felt most comfortable in small tight places were no one could see them.

Doing an about face he stepped toward the door leaving the animal in the bed of the truck until he could determine where the bring the animal into the building. Opening the door he took off his sunglasses as he entered the waiting room.

Heading toward the counter and spotting a young woman in green scrubs he announced, "Excuse me miss I'm Agent Williams from the department of Fish and Wildlife I have a raccoon I need the doc to check out."

Erin was focused intently on some paperwork that she had been neglecting. She hated paperwork. She would forego it all if she could. She was in this business to save animals, not to spend endless hours on a computer. She kept getting distracted as she tried to focus. She was thinking ahead to the raccoon; she hoped it didnt have rabies. If it was exhibiting symptoms they would have to euthanize it. And of course the only way to test for rabies was by testing the brain tissue of the dead animal. Hopefully it was just an ornery raccoon who didnt want to be messed with. She smiled to herself, she'd probably be angry too if someone shoved her in a wire trap.

Erin's receptionist immediately told Ricky to bring the raccoon through the side door into the examination room when he arrived, and then walked back to inform Erin.

"The agents here" she said leaning against the door jam. "He's HOT" she said winking and Erin had to laugh. Jamie was such a flirt sometimes.

"Ok tell him I'll be right there" Erin said, pulling on her lab coat. Beneath the coat she was wearing a pair of form fitting dark wash jeans and a nice green sweater that match the color of her eyes perfectly. She ran a hand over her medium length brown hair in order to smooth it down. She logged off of her computer and walked towards exam room three, opening the door. She immediately heard the raccoon, the poor guy sounded terrified.

"Agent Williams" she said in way of greeting. "Nice to meet you, I'm Dr. McCarthy, but you can call me Erin" she said. "So what have we got going on here?"

Jamie hadn't been kidding, the man was gorgeous. Like really hot. She found herself having trouble tearing her gaze from his handsome face and to the rattling sheet covered cage. She amended her previous thought, if it was this man doing the shoving, she would willingly go anywhere, even in a tiny wire cage. Shaking her head to dispel the thought she once again focused on the agent in front of her.

"Well, Doc I'm concerned about this little guy as you can see he's been running around that cage like he drank a whole bottle of hot sauce. Our concern at the department is he maybe infected rabies because I found him in one of the feed sheds at Jungle Gardens in the middle of the day and raccoons are nocturnal."

Stopping for just a moment catching his breath and taking just a minute to let his eyes give Erin the once over. He really couldn't tell much the lab coat hide her figure but, her eyes the color of emeralds and seem to stare right into his soul. The effect on him was both mesmerizing and a little bit unnerving. The only thing he could tell at the moment was the good Doctor was gorgeous and he was smitten. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly calmed his nerves and allowed him to gather his thoughts.

"Well Doc, it doesn't sound like you're from around here but, Jungle Garden is both a tourist attraction and a wildlife sanitary and if this little bandit is sick he could have infected others wildlife at the gardens. So Doc if you just keep an eye on him for a few days just to be sure he's Ok I'll pick him up in and week and take him to a new home were he won't be able to get into so much mischief. ", He just couldn't bring himself to call her Erin it was his old southern up bringing kicking in. He often found himself addressing teenage girls as ma'am.

"If you could just sign this form stating I released the animal to your care I guess I can take off and grab a bit of lunch at the seafood place just down the road. I hope the little fellow will be OK... Mmmm Miss Erin.. I mean Doc... ", Ricky said as his lips curled into a smile as her glaze met his own.

Erin smiled at the agent's courtesy. A true southern gentlemen, she thought to herself; he wouldn't even call her Erin. "You're right," she replied to him. "I actually just moved here and took over this practice. I'm from up north, Delaware originally. I've always wanted to move down here though, and so far it seems to be working out". She smiled at the man. "Now about this little guy, we can definitely keep an eye on him. Hopefully he's just a little worked up and can be released again soon".

She showed the agent where they could leave the raccoon, in a holding area quarantined off from other animals, and he helped her release the little guy into it. After that was all done, Erin pulled her lab coat off and draped it on a hook by the back door. She signed the appropriate forms for Agent Williams and then smiled at him; her smile dazzling him.

"So Agent Williams, where is this seafood place you were talking about?" she asked, leaning a hip against the counter. "I've been craving some seafood ever since I moved down here, but wasn't sure where the best place to go was".

The truth was she could have asked her receptionist at any time, but it was an excuse to talk to the agent so she jumped on it. "I haven't really had a lot of time to explore the surroundings yet, but I'm hoping to get to see the sights here any day now".

Ricky's eyes drank in every curve of the good doctor's body as she took off her lab coat and as she turned around to hang her coat on the door hook. It was an amazing transformation in the coat she looked like the total professional even a little schoolmarmish however, without the coat covering her delicious assets she was so hot she was smoking.. He tried to fight the urge but, couldn't resist as his eyes were drawn to her heart shaped ass. God it looked like her jeans were painted on, he thought to himself.

As she turned toward him he could feel his face become warm. Oh my God was he blushing man that hadn't happened to him since highschool. But, the truth be told he hadn't been on a date since he and Marylou broke up over a year ago and he wasn't very at ease around women he always felt they were all too good for him. The truth was he was embarrassed by the fact he wasn't well educated, didn't make much money and really never been 50 miles from the place it was born. The other truth which was painfully oblivious to him was she was a doctor a highly educated woman and he was just a lowly civil-servant who graduated highschool by the skin of his teeth. He was hopelessly out classed.

"Doctor McCarthy one of the best seafood places is just up the road less than five minutes from here Landry's looks like a shack its been here since 1936 when old man Landry opened it and now his grandson runs the place. They have the best "mudbugs" this side of heaven or at least that's what one of the signs inside the joint says. Your welcome to join me Ma'am if you care to that is?"

Erin gave Ricky a quick grin when he described the seafood place. She did oh so love a southern man. "Really? I've never experienced mudbugs before... Well Agent Williams it just so happens that you were my last appointment today. I was planning on taking the afternoon off to unpack my things some more; but a meal with you sounds far more appealing" she said. "Would you mind hanging for just a moment while I get my things?" she asked hoping he wouldn't mind.

She eyed the man before her. He was extremely handsome, and he obviously shared her love for animals. Erin hadn't met many guys down here yet, except for a few old men who brought their pets in, so she was eager to spend time with Ricky. Back in Delaware men had been lining up around the block to get with her, but she had never been interested; she was too focused on school.

Ricky's heart skipped a beat he was sure of it as Erin flashed a quick grin his way. He couldn't put his finger on exactly what caused him to become so enamored by this woman he had only met moments before. Is it her love of animals, those mesmerizing green eyes that seem to sparkle every time she smiles, the way her green sweater clings to her figure enhancing every curve, the way say spoke, her accent, or that sexy round heart shaped ass keep his eye off of as she rounded the corner to get her things. The way her hips swayed just hypnotized him. If it was love or lust; he couldn't tell and he didn't care all he knew is that he wanted her..

"Sure I can hang for just a minute you are certainly worth the wait.... Do you want to drive or should we take my truck? To be honest the truck is pretty crowded with radios, a data terminal and the shotgun hanging in the rear window. I hope the gun thing doesn't sound too redneck but, it is a state truck and that's the way its outfitted.", Ricky said in a voice that was uncharacteristically loud be he wanted to ensure she heard him as he heard a door shut somewhere down the hallway.

It seemed like hours before he heard her footsteps growing louder as she obviously grabbed her things and was heading back up the hallway and reappeared. Yes, it seemed like hours but, only moments had passed and there she was the smile still radiating her vibrant beauty. There was something a little different about her but, he couldn't put his finger on it but, something about her made her even more attractive more sensual.

Erin listened to Ricky talking as she went to get her things. She enjoyed his accent a lot. He was explaining his truck to her. She was really curious about his job and truck and told him as she approached that she didn't mind taking it, but that was up to him. She was looking forward to learning more about this man over their late lunch.

She waited for him to decide if he minded taking his truck or not. "We can take my truck if you want, that's up to you" she said smiling at him.

"Well, let's take your truck if you're sure its alright?", Ricky said wondering what type of fancy wheels a doctor drove and the plain unvarnished truth was he just didn't want to know what she drive he wanted to know everything about her.

Besides his truck might have been a little too cramped for her with all the equipment he had to carry she probably have too almost sit on his lap not that he would have minded but, it may have scared her away. For a moment he wondered if taking her truck was such a good idea when she would be practically on top of him in his truck. However, all was not lost while they walked to her truck it would give him at least one more chance to watch her walk. To let his eyes feast on her shapely legs and other assets he chuckled to himself.

He was looking forward to talking to her and find out why she decided to become a vet and more intriguing why did she decide to set up a practice in a backwater little mud hole like Rockport. As they approached the door he reached out and opened it for Erin and lowered his sunglasses and they were greeted by the brilliant blue skies. That was one good thing about livin' up in the country as people in these parts liked to say we never had to worry about smog he thought to himself. Oh sure many a morning there would be fog on the bayou so thick you could cut in with a knife but, smog never.

In his exuberance to be the perfect gentlemen he committed a rookie mistake sure he opened the door but, didn't leave her enough room to pass by him there was only inches between him and the doorjamb. He truly wanted to slow a little satisfaction a little manners if you will but, he was a country bumpkin no two ways about it. His eyes were locked on Erin and he didn't even realize his amateurish faux pas.

Erin pulled her keys from her purse and tossed them to Ricky. "Notta problem. You drive though" she said with a saucy smile. She led the way out the back door and to her truck. She giggled as he didn't leave enough room for her to pass, and then squeezed through, her ass brushing against him as she did. The truck was her baby, her dream vehicle. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, it was black as night, and gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. She had a lime green pinstripe painted down the sides, but not an ordinary pinstripe, it was made to look like barbed wire. She had a four inch lift on the truck, 18" chrome rims and 35-12.50 mud tires on the truck, giving it a tough look. Erin smiled and a Brantley Gilbert song came to mind; Country Must Be Country Wide.

"This is my baby now, so don't wreck us" she said as they got close and she opened the passenger door to climb in.

She settled herself in the passenger seat, buckling her belt and then fiddling with the radio finding a country station. The truck rumbled to life beneath them, the dual exhaust Erin had on it growling like a predator. Erin smiled to herself. She was obviously very proud of her truck. She had paid for it on her own, working her way through college, never taking loans from her parents or anyone else. She was an independent woman, and liked to take care of herself.

"Mmmmm", Ricky sighed without even realizing it has Erin firm sweet ass brushed against the crotch of his khaki uniform bringing his already semi-hard cock to full erection. Instinctively he pressed himself against her it had been too long since he had been laid and he had never been with a woman as sexy as Erin. He raised his arm so she could pass.

"Oh I'm sorry excuse me I didn't mean to be in the way I'm just so clumsy sometimes."

She just giggled perhaps at his backward apology perhaps in embarrassment he couldn't tell. Thankfully she began began to describe her truck she was probably as embarrassed as he was he thought to himself and hopped in to the full sized pickup. He took just a moment to admire the Silverodo, before stepping up and climbing behind the steering wheel and turning the key to crank it up. After a moment he galnced over toward Erin to make sure she was settled in and couldn't help but, be drawn to the sight of her perfectly round breasts as she bent down slightly to fiddle with the radio. The sight of her two twin beauties caused his cock to throb just once but, what an exquisite sight she was and it had been forever since the mere sight of a woman made his manhood spring to life the way she did.

He pressed in the clutch and shifted into gear and they slowly rolled to the end of the parking lot the truck almost vibrating underneath them from the dual exhaust.. So what brought you to a little podunk town like Rockport?", he asked as he pulled onto the highway it was only a short distance to Landry's but, he wanted to know about her and if she was just passing though or planning to stay around before things went any farther.

Erin felt comfortable around Ricky; more so than usual with a man. She settled in to relax on the ride to the restaurant.

"Well, I just graduated from college a few months ago, and I've been wanting to have my own practice... and I heard through the grapevine that this place was for sale" she said, shrugging. "And I've always loved the south, I've visited around here before. So it seemed like a good start". There was a little more to the story; reasons why she had left home, but those details would stay with her for a while at least.

"I've never liked big cities... Lived in one while I was in college and I hated every minute of it. I like getting to know people, and their animals".

"What about you; do you like your job? Do you like living here?" she asked, casting a sideways glance at the man sitting beside her, wanting to get to know him a whole lot better.

"Why, I love my job truly it seems more like a calling than a job I could survive working in a place where you were locked in for eight hours a day. I just need to feel the sun on my face, and sound of the wind in the pines and the water babbling over the rocks. To have a job in some factory of in some fancy office it would be the death of me I'm tellin' the truth..", smiling so wide he could spit in his ear as he caught her sideways glace. He was delighted she didn't like big cities.

I gott'a tell ya Landry's as some of the best food in there here parts but, it kind'a old fashion. Well, to be perfectly honest it was opened in 1936 like I said but, I bet ya my bottom dollar it ain't seen a lick of paint or new wall paper since. It's clean I mean it's so clean they scrubbed the linoleum off the floods. It started out as a seafood and sandwich shop. But, nowadays it strictly seafood fresh off the boats every morning. But the sign that says, 'Send a salami to your boy in the army', still hangs in the window form 1945... They don't like to change things much on the bayou. The old adage, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it', people take that to heart in these parts., looking over at Erin he couldn't help by smile just being in her presence made him happy.

Pressing the clutch and switching his foot from the gas to the break as he made the left turn into the parking lot. "

We're here hope you're hungry?", switching off the truck just as the last word passed his lips.

Erin listened raptly as Ricky talked on the drive to the restaurant. He was such an interesting man. He explained the restaurant and she thought it sounded absolutely incredible.

"I love those kind of places" she said smiling brilliantly. They turned into the parking lot and Erin got her first look at the place. If possible, her smile got even brighter.

"Awesome" she muttered. "I'm starved!" She hopped out of the truck agilely, landing on the balls of her feet. she walked around the front of the truck to meet with Ricky. Suddenly, and probably ridiculously, she was a little nervous. It seemed as if he came here often, and she had yet to meet anyone in town besides her clients. She hesitated before walking towards the door, knowing it was probably silly to be nervous, but it was almost like being the new kid in school or something.

Man, Ricky was surprised at Erin's agility she looked almost catlike as she leapt from the truck. Ricky had just stepped out of truck as she appeared in front of him. In the distance he could hear same old song playing. Years ago it was a 45 playing on a jukebox today the song come from computer hooked up to a Wal-Mart home theater system but, the twang of Hank Williams was unmistakable as the lyrics muffled as they maybe drifted though the door, "Jambalaya, crawfish pie, file' gumbo, cause tonight I goes to see me my cheeramee-o"

As the sounds and smells surrounded them Ricky started to slip back into his roots this was his comfort zone this and the bayou. Oh, don't be park'n it in the street ma chere you gott'a be trying some of that crawfish he be waiting' on us. Maybe someday if you stick around I'll tell you the legend of the crawfish, how they came to be in Louisiana.

After you Erin and I don't know if its ungentlemanly but, you want to open the door this time its Ok by me maybe its a little better to be less of a gentleman than to be just plain clumsy.

Jambalaya - Hank Williams

Erin couldn't help but smile as they entered the restaurant; music was blaring, people were talking loudly over the clink of dishes and the atmosphere was one of chaotic organization. She had opened the door on her own this time, upon Ricky's request and then turned to face him.

"This place is awesome!" she said grinning from ear to ear. "Agent Williams, you sure do know how to pick a good place to eat; the food smells delicious!"

Several people greeted Ricky and Erin noticed more than a few women staring at him enticingly. Erin felt a stab of jealousy but beat it back. That was ridiculous, she had no claim on the man beside her; she'd just met him! Her senses were reeling; her eyes wide with amusement as she took in the scene before them.

"I told you it was good maybe we could manage to set at the back both it'll be a little ways from the noise so we can talk...", raising his left hand and pointing toward the back corner as the words flowed from his lips.

The eating area was poorly lit in general and the back corner particularly so. It wasn't hard to understand why once you realized old man Landry was a penny pinching son of a bitch and that trait never seems to skip a generation in the Landry klan. Bordeaux Landry the grandson of the original owner was now the proprietor but, the wiring and lighting were vantage 1936. A string of twelve bare light bulbs which probably wouldn't have passed the electrical code back in '36 and certainly wouldn't now.. However, since the firechief ate here twice and week and Bordeaux always seemed to misplace his bill there was never even a complaint let alone a citation.

Ricky took the lead and started to ease and jostle his way through the crowd hopefully Erin was fallowing but, he didn't know there was just no way to even turn around and look. If Landry's was anything at all, it draw a good lunch crowd. Finally he reached the table and turned around to find Erin standing right behind him. He guessed these days in the big city had taught her a thing or two about crowd control.

"Have a seat chere, oh and if I promise to call you Erin would you please call me Ricky... Agent Williams just seems a little formal if we are going to be seeing more of each other", flashing a smile as he spoke. Holding his had up to signal Becky the waitress to bring a couple of menus.

Erin followed closely behind Ricky to the table he had pointed out. He suggested her call him Ricky and she nodded in acknowledgement. "Sure. Seeing more of you sounds great" she said, blushing a bit. It DID sound great.

They sat down and Ricky flagged down a waitress. Erin noticed she was very pretty in heavily-made-up sort of way; and she certainly wasn't afraid to flirt with Ricky, even with Erin sitting there.

"Hey sugar, long time no see" the waitress said, popping her gum and trailing a blood red fingernail down his chest. Erin averted her eyes, feeling like an intruder in an intimate moment.

To Ricky's credit he shook the waitress off politely, and glanced at Erin again.

Stella, behave yourself that's no way to act in front of Erin she a doctor you know.", Ricky said to her incredulously as his lips grew thin with contempt for the waitress. Leaning over toward Erin and whispering in her ear, "Pay her no mind she takes a little nip now and again and today she seems to have more than just nip. Bless her heart."

As he strightened up and looking Stella in the eye said, "Could you bring us a couple of menus Stella."

Erin smiled at Ricky and shrugged. "Hey its no business of mine" she said politely. The waitress had sashayed over to get them menus and then came back to plop them down in front of Erin and Ricky before walking away again.

"So, you recommend the ... Uh ... Mudbugs?" Erin asked fighting back a smile at the silly name. She lost the battle and ended up grinning over at Ricky, her eyes sparkling.

"You guys have some of the most interesting words I've ever heard" she said. They placed their orders moments later and Erin faced Ricky.

"So... I want to know more about you. You aren't like married or anything are you?" she asked with a grin.

"Nope never been married the woman I asked said I didn't make enough money to marry her so that ended that. With work and all I really haven't had the time to date or anything close to it. What about you you have some special back in Delaware? I can't imagine you didn't have you pick of men... So you have'm lined up?"

Approaching the table with a large roll of paper Stella leaned over and rolled out a two foot wide white paper first in one direction obviously positioning herself being sure to giving Ricky an eye full of her ampler bosoms and turning slightly to the right all and rolling out the paper once again in the other direction. Your mudbugs will be up in a minute Ricky if there's anything else you need anything at all just whistle. You do know how to whistle don't you Ricky, just put your lips together and blow," perusing together, her lips inches from Ricky's own.

"No, noone special for me, vet school kept me way too busy. And I've never thought money was a very good factor to base love on" she said shrugging. She was about to speak again when Stella came back over and began shoving her tits in Ricky's face. Erin's blood simmered at the woman's comments.

Erin couldn't hold her tongue... Some people told her the song "She Aint Right" by Lee Brice represented her in ways. The opening lines were "She's got her daddy's tongue and temper, sometimes her mouth could use a filter, God shook his head the day he built her; oh but I bet he smiled" - and yeah that did fit Erin's personality.

Slowly Erin stood up, until she stood her full 5'2 inches; not a very intimidating height, but her eyes were flashing with her temper.

"Excuse me Stella... I am coming to realize that you are trying to lay your claim on this man here, by flaunting yourself in front of him and perhaps I am wrong, but he has just told me that he has no attachments to any women. So I would greatly appreciate it if you would pull your breasts out of his face so that he and I can continue our conversation".

She felt heat entering her cheeks; she hoped she wasn't going to make enemies, but she wasn't willing to be stepped on by some floozy either.

"Well, I..... I mean I", was all Stella could mudder as she strengthened up turned and sulked away like a wiped dog.

Why shiiiiit I ain't never seen Stella at a loss for words before", Ricky could barely get the words out between the bully laughs.

Suddenly his face toke on a serous look as he said, "I wonder if you'll get our grub.", and just as suddenly his eyes flashed with mischief as he broke into another grail of lughter.

Erin sank back down into her chair, aware of several gazes on her face. She blushed a bit and then became aware of Ricky laughing loudly. She gave him a reluctant smile that was half grimace.

"Sorry..." she muttered. "I have a problem holding my temper sometimes" she said shrugging. "And I better get my damned food, without spit too" she said grinning.

"I really am sorry though" Erin apologized again, hoping she hadn't embarassed him or something.
