OOC : thread's closed for MadameNyx and me.
It takes place in Hoshkah, a fantasy world of heroics and adventures. Magic, strange species, creatures, quests, and dark secrets are the main things of this world. We are in the kingdom of Draut, under the hand of stern King Leofost III. It's a forest, it's sunset, the campfire is built, smoke and light raising up. Two people are around it, a man and a woman. Two horses are tied just a few feet away at a tree.

" And what the hell did you think you were doing, my Lady?"

Haldas was always like that. A bit of a raw person who spoke with true raw words, and a bit of a respectful man who had concern for the authority. He was seated just besides the campfire, using his dagger to prepare the meat in order to cook it. Tall and solidly built but not a pure muscles show. He wore short blond hair and had piercing green eyes, both contrrasting with his tanned skin. A couple of scars showed that he had quite an eventful life. Adventurous in fact. And seemed to be used to outdoor living. His clothes, all in grey-brown shades, could easily be pushed down or up in order to follow the weather from different areas, being cold or hot, wet or dry. At his side was a large battle-axe and he had put his shield at his feet.
He looked sideways at the cute young woman. She was really pretty with her hazel eyes and her long dark hair, and her curves were showing quite well in her tight leather pants and her bodice.
Haldas shrugged.

"No offense my Lady, but being the daughter of our King doesn't give you the right to run into every seemingly interesting adventure alone like that. There won't ever be adventurers like me to be ready to rescue you. A chance those orcs weren't a large pack, I could defeat them and free you. But it was close. You shouldn't be doing that, you're in the line of the heirs of the kingdom, you should preserve yourself. Well, we should be happy I?m with you now. I'll have to bring you back home probably."

He focused on the meat again, putting it on a woodstaff and placing it over the fire.

"Tell me Princess Sanah, what is it you were after? "

"I can find my own way home if I wanted to go there, Master Haldas." The young woman replied as she rubbed her wrists where the rope had cut a little into her skin. It would be uncomfortable for a while, but they would heal in a few days. She had been lucky he was close by and had chanced upon the group of orcs that were, at the time, being very detailed about what hey planned to do with her, and she recognized that. That didn't mean she would allow him to drag her back to the castle. A little indignant, she replied "I am not the kind of woman to be placed on a pedestal and be gawked at. I hate all the sowing and the ridiculous socializing I would have to do if I stayed int he castle all the time. I prefer to do something useful, thank you."

Sanah raised her hazel eyes to look at him then. He was a handsome man, rugged. A man who knew what good work and sweat were, not a stuck up prince from another land that thought they deserved the world, pompous, wanting to bore her with petty politics and even go as far as proposing a marriage for it. She shuddered. She wouldn't be a mare to be traded for politics. Besides, no one had wanted to take this particular assignment, so she was doing her father a favor.

"Actually, I was looking for something. A particular family jewel my father is looking for... paying a handsome reward for it too, though no one seems to want to take the job. Maybe you're heard of it? The heart of Veritas?"

The Heart of Veritas? Haldas' heart jumped in his chest. The most famous story among the adventurers that were crossing the roads of the Kingdom of Draut. An object no one ever knew if it was real or pure legend. No one could claim to have seen it with his own eyes. It was said to have existed and been a family jewel in the reigning family for thousands of years before disapearing with the King of that time and all its caravan in some mountain somewhere. But no one has ever been close to it from then on.
Haldas looked up at the princess.
- My Lady, with all due respect, you're putting yourself in danger in the hope to give some truth to an old woman story you heard on the benches of the castle. No one could prove the Heart exists, you know. And there are many who tried for so many years. Don't make a fool of me. Let me guide you back to the castle. YOur father was really worried about you when he gave the amount ot the reward to bring you back.
