There is a conventional, built-in function, in the word processors, for page templates. I do not use Word, so bear with me here while I speak generally. (I used the computer at work to format my porn, actually, because it has Word. Shhh. They're a Baptist church.) In WordPerfect it's called a binding offset. It alternates according to page number.

It increases the margin which is toward the spine of the book. Odd numbered pages have the right margin bigger than the left, even numbered pages have the left one bigger, so that when the pages are printed back-to-back, both sides, the big margins line up. Then when the book is bound, the type doesn't disappear into the gutter between pages.

If imp says it's called a gutter or a gutter allowance, or a gutter offset, or whatever she says, it is likely to be the term used by the Word program.

I hope I explained it well enough. I seem to remember you set the value of it in the page definition, somewhere.

Imp actually uses WordPerfect. (HATE Word!) "Gutter" just sounds more appropriate to me ... being where my mind rests and all. :kiss:

Actually, Imp's specs said center seam and MSWord says gutter.

Oh, I thought that I remembered talk of contacting potential recipients to make sure that they didn't have a problem with recieving money from the sale of pornography. Even though I understand that the group is specifically aimed toward the adult industry, I figured that they had still been contacted. I was thinking that by combining our efforts (ours and the agency) we would help each other and create something of a partnership. (not a business partnership as in a business owned by partners, a more general, informal type of partnership- since our success helps them and their's helps us)

Before I think about contacting them, I would like to make sure that I have all of the information correct, as well as the spirit of the project and that I'm not stepping on any toes or going over anyone's head or painting the wrong picture or anything. And then, i'm not sure if I'm making sence even now. :eek: (I guess I'm afraid of messing up somehow)

On the subject of taxes, it seems likely that they could be avoided since the proceeds are going to a charity. (another thing that the agency might be of help with, since personally, I don't know what would need to be done)

Sweet: I've already contacted them. Only yesterday.

I informed them about the book and asked them whether they'd be willing to help us promote the book with maybe a review or a banner on their site. There's a copy of my e-mail on one of these threads.

I feel relieved:) I thought it was a good idea, but I wasn't sure if I really wanted to handle it myself. Glad you did. (Also, glad you liked my ideas:))

Perhaps they would also advertise on the Coming Together Site with a banner of their own- either free, or very low cost to cover or defray the cost of the site itself (assuming we are allowed to have banner ads on whatever type of site we are using) --just another thought. (I think a lot of 'cross polination' would be highly beneficial, can you tell?:) )

Letter to eff

About tax: I don't think it's going to be an issue. We're not earning from it and the money we give to them will be somethingthey'll have to file for tax (if indeed they need to at all), not us.
