I just read the first post and felt like putting in my two cents. I post here occasionally and you all have been very nice to me but I feel really out of place here. You may not realize it but you are much more of a closed society then you think. I feel way too out of the loop to post here much, be it I'm gauche, unintelligent, or just paranoid. It's how I feel and I wish it weren't so, but it is.

You know I felt like this for a while here too. I don't now though.

Why?

Well I thinkone of the main reasons was me joining inthe Audio thread. I just felt so part of it all and it seemed to make me feel more at home here full stop. Then taking part in NaNoWriMo here built on that.

Basically I really gor involved, put alot of me out here and I've reaped the benefits.

Truth be told, most of us probably feel the same way at times; some of us more so and more times than others. For instance, we post something on a thread, and the topic immediately changes, I've got a hunch even the most secure folks will briefly wonder, was it me or my deoderant?

A study was done of campus student leaders at an American college. I can't remember which one, but the study's been replicated at many other schools since with the same results.

Those questioned included the officers of most campus student organizations including frats, sororities, honor societies, and student government. The participants were asked to evaluate the person or persons directly below them in the organizational chart, those above them, their peers, and finally, themselves.

WITHOUT FAIL, the lowest rating for each individual, was the one they did on themselves. Now remember, these were BMOC-types, the campus movers and shakers, not the slubs hiding in the library or watching TV on Saturday night.

In other words Cookie, those feelings you expressed are "normal" - or as normal as any can be for someone who hangs around the AH.

The scary thing is, you start to think that hanging out on the AH IS normal, and then you start to write more porn, and then everything you do has a porn twist to it, like imagining the barrista in the coffee shop naked with a little apron, and then everything you write seems to invite more porn, like offering sexual favors in thank-you notes for presents, and then you realize you need to be spanked so you come back to the AH and...
