A gown is traditional and pretty much mandatory, I'm afraid. But I'm sure you can find the right avatar for this particular Prom.

Oh, and thanks for that reminder: Remember, everyone! On Prom night you all have to be in Prom avatars! Tuxes and gowns!

And allow me to introduce you to the other traditions of the Prom:

1) There is a theme--like "Castles in the Air" and this theme decides the gaudy decor of the dance area--which is often at the school gymnasium.

2) You get your picture taken with your date in those fine clothes with hair done up and corsage pinned on you and such, so you can remember this night forever!

3) There are folk nominated for Prom King/Queen; everyone votes and the winners are announced at the Prom. They get crowned and lead a dance.

Such at the old time traditions. And then there are the more interesting ones like hiring a limo, renting a room at the hotel, smuggling in liquor....
