Alien vs Predator: A Frozen Hell

No one had the opportunity that she did up on the Commons' roof. No one else had time to notice the snow falling into their hands, the chill air. There something about the ice crystals, the way they floated down and disappeared on her warm skin, that even a synthetic could appreciate. To look up from such small wonder and find chaos was surreal. It was like a dream, a nightmare, but Kingston didn't dream.

The explosion stole her attention, directing her to the most terrifying thing she would probably ever see. The metal case fell from her grasp. The urge to run like hell surged up once more and Kingston almost gave in. There were no marines for her to see and be concerned about, but she knew where they were. They were in that garage, waiting and depending on her.

The Kingston unit knelt and went to work, one eye on the great creature threatening her soldiers. Despite the split attention she worked efficiently, not needing to see her body to coordinate it's moments as she flipped open the case and checked it's contents. She knew why Ambrose had sent her on this mission. Yes, the "experts" needed to be the the skeletons, but it was only coincidence that she had happened upon the sergeant. He'd been the one with the weapon in hand, alone at the base of the ladder, sweating it out. Kingston scowled as she shouldered the weapon and took aim. The beast's massive head filled the site.

This is suicide.

Her indignation was set aside as she pulled the trigger, the recoil rocking her backwards. She let the momentum take the launcher from her shoulder to the ground behind her. The unit was ready, ready to leap to her feet and take off running. She was ready to get as far away from these monsters as possible. She was just waiting to make sure that the biggest one would be going with her.

Marines, pt XIII.
Kingston felt her body jolt as the rocket leapt from her shoulder. The warhead screamed over the sea of xenomorphs, trailing burining air in its path.
The abomination was raising its weapons for another crushing blow but it paused as it heard the cries from its kin below. The rocket slammed into the ravager, engoulfing the compound in a shroud of smoke. The explosion hurled dozens of nearby drones to their deaths and threw a heavy avalanche of snow onto the mob.
Kingston braced herself as she was hit by a shockwave of smoke and rubble. Had she any lungs she surely would have coughed as she kneeled in the thick smoke, waiting. The next thing the synthetic felt was an odd sensation. Her skin began to tingle. It puzzled her and she almost ignored the feeling untill her skin began to sizzle lightly.
Gorey acid blood hailed down from the miniature mushroom cloud. Kingston began to frantically wipe the acid from her artifical skin. She scrambled around on the roof, attempting to free the ichor from her uniform but she was interrupted by a bestial howl. Kingston cocked her head in response.
Out of the smoke, an explosion rocked the compound violently and sent her tumbling to the ground. She looked up into the ominous dark cloud.
A shadow, nearly the size of a large car floated toward the edge of the roof.
Dear god...It can't be.
The head of the abomination rose above her out of the dark. She laid less than ten feet from the horror of the hive. Kingston looked on in fear as the beast opened its slickened maw. Its two-foot long teeth glistened as thick spittle clung from its bloody jaws.
For a moment, the nightmare stared back at her. The temporary silence ended when an explosion to match the first errupted as a giant sythe ripped through the dust and slammed into the concrete roof next to her. Kingston instinctivly scurried to her feet and began to run.
There was a great rush of air as a second blade rained down towards her, hitting the ground in front of her with enough force to send her toppling backwards...right under the looming head of the monstrosity. With great strain, the ravager pulled itself unto the roof with its great claws. Now, the beast loomed above her with its heavy blades hanging in the air.

I looked at Had'jin and shrugged. "We're goin to the top of the wall, of course. That turret there, the one with those pale thingies on it, that'll be a good vantage point."
I smiled as I charged forward, Had'jin right at my heels. Humming a ballad that spoke of a young Yajuta female pining for her lover and later weilding her lover's head on a pike, I charged in with a battle cry in my throat, a song in my soul, a feeling of rightness in my world.

Battle and mayhem, blood and blade, that's what we live for the Blooded Ones. Oh yes, battle it be.

Predator, pt XIII.
Nan-de and Had'jin leapt up the rubble and sprinted over the top of the wall. As the hunters ran along the crest of the wall, the Kainde Amedha would leap up to scratch at the heels of the passers. As they neared the tower, one of the bugs managed to hurl itself up the side of the wall in front of them, blocking their way.
The hunters halted and immediatly changed to their combat stances. As Nan-de began to edge towards the drone, Had'jin called out to her.
"Look, behind us," he said, gesturing to a group of the Kainde Amedha scrambling up behind them. The drone in front of them hissed eagerly as it was joined by another dozen of its comrades. They were quickly surrounded.
The warriors behind them began to edge forward, attempting to trap them in the midst of the two hunting packs. Had'jin grunted and extended his spear. The yaujta formed a defensive formation as they stood back-to-back, weapons raised. "Watch my back, and I will guard yours," the warrior said as his plasma cannon sprung into alert.
The packs chittered in excitment as Sil'veis gave the order to attack. The drones ran fowards as commanded, heading face first into the hunters.
Sil'veis turned to watch eagerly as the Predators made their last stand.
Grind them into the dust. This nuicense must be dealt with...

The affect was devestating. Thei-de's bladed-flail whipped through the night with lethal speed. The first body in its way was a lunging drone, who caught the sharp blades in its face as they sailed into its path. With a sickening rip, the razor edges of the disk tore through the Kainde Amedha's fleshy jaw and splattered chunks of gristly tissue in all directions.
The next Alien in the path of the disk was far less fortunate. The blade had been slowed enough by mangled bone to only pierce the beast's neck. The Alien screamed as the razor continued to spin and saw through its throat. The noise was ended by a quick jerk of the cord as Thei-de ripped the blade from the creature's flesh.
The ichor-coated disk hung limply from Thei-de's grasp, the cord's slack drapping from his muscled forearms.
In the distance, the hunter could see his other disk chasing it's prey across the ice. Its current target, a young drone, tripped to the ground in its hastened escape and was messily decappitated as the blade swooped through its skull. Thei-de could see the glistening shower of blood from where he stood.
He turned to see the remaining warriors stop just outside the range of his flail, waiting. The Kainde Amedha cocked their heads and hissed to eachother as if disucssing his death. To his amasment, the warriors turned their tails and scurried back towards the compound. He soon found out why...
A putrid stench filtered through his nostrils. It was vile and choking enough to make him gag. A Preatorian warrior pushed its way out of the horde, its normally shiny black chitin dripping with blood and bile. It must have been over two feet taller than any royal guard he had ever seen. This one was BIG.
The monster approached the hunter slowly with heavy footsteps. Its bloody tail dragged behind its clawed feet, snaking through the red snow in its wake. Thei-de's eyes watered as the vile creature approached. The Preatorian stopped less than a dozen feet from him, its glory armor glistening with torn flesh and splattered blood. Its toungue extended slowly from its jaws as it tasted the air, as it tasted his fear. The beast rasied its bulky shoulders and walked straight towards the lone hunter with its massive claws hanging loosely at its sides.
This new prey will fall like the rest and I will wear its intestines over my back as I did the rest. The Queen wills it...

I knew I was in trouble now, I tweaked the filters in my helmet, using my mandibles, and started punching more buttons, firing my plasma caster as fast as it could into this larger prey. As I was firing, I clicked the recall button to bring the other disc back, as I crouched and threw the disc I was holding on straight at the thing. I gripped onto the cord so I could pull it back in case, and reached into my pack for one of the grenades I brought.

I took a deep breath and studied the dozen K.A that were grouped before me. I shot a glance back at Had'jin. "Hope you're ready for some fun. Because something tells me, we're gonna have fun with this. Lets push toward that turret in front of us, give us a better place to defend from. Plus gets my shot area for the big cutie down there."
Had'jin grunted at me in affirmation, already taking strikes. I fired up my shoulder cannons, ice flaring down one side, fire down the other, my shuriken flying in waves, one after the other, until I had four total flying, two in my hands and being thrown as the other two were at the top of thier arch away from me and starting back. Again and again, my blades flew, finishing what my pulse cannons had started. I kept my cannon fires to a minimum, using my blades instead. I had plenty to alternate through so they didn't get dull but fuel for the cannons was less plentiful. Just wasn't as portable to carry extra caniseters nor change them out in the middle of a hoard of enemies.
Would have to talk to the tech boys about that when I get home.
I dodged away from a tail as another glanced off my right arm's plating. If I make it home, part of me said but I shoved it down. I was a Yajuta Warrioress and no stinking drone was going to get me!

The Preatorian had found the weak spot.
With a deep hiss the beast lunged in front of the musky prey, accepting the spear tip in its chest. The staff peirced the thick chintin but the beast moved closer to the hunter, edging its way up the spear. Gadaba realized what was happening after it was already too late.
The Preatorian had impeled himself to render the hunter weaponless and now at a dangerously close range. The beast roared as it rose a heavy limb and whipped him across the face with a taloned claw. Gadaba lost his balance and tumbled backwards into the snow his mask deeply scratched and his thermal vison useless. The Preatorian roared again as it charged towards its fallen prey to crush it into the ground.

The mob hissed excitedly as the ravager pummled the garage, tearing the door to the ground. The door was practically off when they hear a sound. There was a great howling scream as a rocket hit the abomination.
The humans still fought to survive.
Sil'veis howled in rage. She ordered the ravager onto the roof to finish off the petty fool who had struck the Queen's champion. The human had no idea what it was dealing with.

There was a great commotion as the ravager scaled the roof. Thousands gathered around the compound making sure to catch the human if she fell. Each blow brought frenzied growls from the mob, making the hive more and more eager for the kill. Sil'veis would have hissed herself but the garage doors began grinding open as she turned.
Bright light poured from the vast room and the drones ran to it, seeing their chance. The warriors turned from the rooftop battle and scurried towards the door. The doors to the new hive were finally open.

There was only a loud clicking sound of steel as a warning.

Thei-de's disk flew true and found its mark deep in the beast's chest. There was a sickening sawing noise as the blades began to knaw through the creature's sternum. The royal Preatorian moved with amazing agility. It grabbed the cord tightly in its claws.
Thei-de could have sworn he saw the beast smile...

The feastering Preatorian tugged sharply on the cord, throwing the hunter to his stomach. Gi'this ripped the spinning disk from his chest and tossed it to the ground, stepping on it with a solid stomp.
The disk shattered under the immense wieght of the Preatorian. Then, Gi'this raised a heavy foot to crush the hunter.
A hunter is only as good as his weapons. He will break under the same weight...

Nan-de's barrage proved lethal. Hot plasma tore through the mob in front of her. The disks above her head arched up into the air and spiraled down into the pack. The Kainde Amedha screamed as the spinning death streamed through them.
The alternating volleys did not cease. They kept ripping and shredding until the last drone fell off the wall in four different pecies.
Had'jin finished impaling his last warrior as she began climbing up the tower. He quickly followed her up but not after looking at the remaing bugs. They seemed to lose intrest in the hunters. They were all heading towards the garage.
Hmmm...I wonder what's in there?

The Preatorian was caught off-guard by the hunter's fierce strike. The beast felt a searing pain in its gut as the sharp wrist blades plunged into its gut.
Gadaba followed the blow through with a lot of wieght, sending the tips of the blades clear through the Preatorian's back. Hot acid gushed foward onto his chest as he stabbed.
The beast howled with pain but stood its ground. It twisted its head back and slammed its large skull into the hunter's mask. The headbut shattered the mask but amazingly enough, Gadaba was still standing.

This one is determined to die it seems...

Surprised as the thing flew me forward, and already I was on the ground, good thing I didn't let go of the grenade, I set its detonation charge as I rolled out from under the foot, leaving the grenade there as I extended the wrist blade on my left arm.

Gadaba pushed his free hand into the creatures head, his blades scraping its head.

He pulled hisothe hand out and stabbed again pulling his arm across. The acid was slowly burning his outer armour as he continued his attack.

Nan-de

I surveyed the damage from the top of the tower, kicking a human corpse out of my way.
Than-de was rolling around the ground, a guard above him. My eyes widened for a moment in concern but I knew he could handle himself.
Turning away, I searched for the rest of my hunting group. Gadaba's armor was smoking rather interestingly. It should have been coated with anti-acid but it didn't seem to be working. New Ph perhaps?
The others waded through the mess, pulse cannons flaring, blades flashing in the lighting of the compound. I swiched over to my green spectrum of sight and fought an puzzled groan of irritation.
The K.A. were flocking toward the garage, as if something big was coming from there. I sent a quary up to my ship, asking for current scans of the area.
If it was what I thought it'd be, the the sensors on the ship would easily see it....

Thei-de managed to quickly escape the oncoming stomp, leaving behind a small seismic charge. The large Preatorian's foot connected with the ground, shaking the grenade violently, its sensors blinking more and more rapidly.
Thei-de rolled away from the beast and covered his head with his hands.
The grenade senors died away...
Gi'this was thrown onto his back as the charge below him errupted and exploded violently beneath his feet. Thick acid spilled from his legs as his right foot was torn from his body.
The snow sizzled violently as the Preatorian howled in rage. Thei-de barely had enough time to roll to his feet when Gi'this leapt to his own with amazing speed.
Gi'this arched his back down towards the earth, leaving his blood-dripping tail swinging above his head. The tail lunged forward, its barbed head spiraling directly towards the hunter's neck.

Gadaba's free hand plunged deeply into the Preatorian's skull and acid showered down on his face.
The hunter staggered backwards from the pain and the royal guard stumbled away, screaming as thick ichor gushed from its mortal wound. The Preatorian thrashed around aimlessly, snapping at the night as its brains oozed down its fleshy chest.
It managed to regain its composure and it snarled, foaming hot blood at the mouth.
The Preatorian made a mad charge into Gadaba, flailing its claws and snapping its toothy maw at his head.
Gadaba looked to his blades which had been corroded away by acid. His eyes immediatly spotted the spear potruding from the beast's chest. He found his chance...

The response to Nan-de's transmission was almost instantaneous. Inside her mask, a generated diagram filled her visor. The graphic was entirely three-dimensional and highly detailed.
Nan-de watched the garage enlarged as the ship zoomed in. The screen halted its piloting when three very visable heat sources appeared in the doorway of the garage. They were humans obviously, but what were they doing?

Aliens, pt X.
The corpses of countless drones piled up outside the garage as more and more charged forward. Sil'veis squinted into the bright lights. Then she saw them...

With heavy footsteps, three Exosuits lumbered towards the garage entryway, their zip guns blazing away. The cumbersome mechs poured thousands of rounds into the night, catching the warriors in a blazing inferno as they attempted to scamper over the corpses of their kin. Hot brass rained down at their sides and lead drenched the approachers.
Seated in the armored Exosuits were three marines, each screaming their heads off as they gripped the triggers.
Sil'veis watched in horror as her brothers and sisters fell. She turned to her side where Gi'this should have been standing. Her bodyguard's abscence troubled her.
What could have posed enough of a threat to attract his attention?
She turned to see that all of her guards were missing.
No...they couldn't still be alive could they?
The alpha swivled her head to see behind her. She saw Gi'this was occuipied with a lone hunter. He would surely prove no match...

She was much more disapointed with the others. She watched as a hunter stabbed through a guard's head. Further behind her she could see more Preatorian's dropping like flies as the arbiter and Ta'voc plowed towards her. The alpha was quite alone.
For the first time she felt a fear of death as she was required as a general of the hive to survive. She roared in anger at the deaths of her elite.
They will die for this!

At command, every drone near the end of the column turned to face the new threat. They turned quickly and charged back at the wall, determined to eliminate every single hunter.

Suicide.

Staring up into her hideous opponent's great maw, Kingston saw her demise. She'd been laid flat on her back by a Xeno even deadlier than she thought possible. They were alone on a concrete island in a sea of its' kin, thousands of bloodthirtsty monsters swarming around the last human resistance. Her skin still tingled horribly, charred flesh and fabric spotted across her body. A spark flew from her arm as the slowing acid hit a nonessential wire.

Chances of survival were practically nonexistant, but programming would not allow Kingston to wait for her end. Cause and effect - if she simply laid there, her chances of survival would be zero. The Kingston unit kicked up to her feet, taking in the scene instantly. She had hundreds of feet of roof to run, unknown possibilities at the far sides. A stray vehicle she could take, perhaps. Just the idea of getting so far away from the creature was nearly enough to persuade her to test the creature's speed. But the SADAR lay a dozen feet away and the still-open hatch not too far behind it. If Ambrose was still down there, he'd be smart to close it. Hopefully he wasn't so smart.

She bolted, zig-zagging slightly in what she had determined to be the best way around the giant's sharp limbs. The SADAR was a one-shot weapon, but the Marines would be stupid not to put extra ammunition in the case. Taking advantage of her synthetic strength, Kingston awkwardly snatched up the SADAR and flung it towards the hatch. Stumbling forward she reached the case, inhuman finesse allowing her to slam it shut as she picked it up. Clutching it to her chest with one arm, Kingston leapt arm-outstretched for the hatch. If the Xeno would even allow her to her goal, the fall would be damaging. Hoping to catch a rung on the ladder with one arm was pressing her chances. Then given the situation, what wouldn't be pressing her chances?

Predator, pt XXI.
Thei-de dropped to the ground and raised his blades to the air. The air above his head split as the razor-sharp tail whizzed past.
Thei-de's razors extended into the night, right in the tail's path.
Gi'this jerked his tail sharply and the bladed end of the tail sailed through the hunter's wrist. Light green blood spewed from Thei-de's gorey limb.
His wrist blades were cut in half, right down the middle of the gauntlet. Sparks spouted forth and gore ran down the hunter's left arm and dribbled off into the snow.
The Preatorian began to slash his tail into the fallen hunter when a battle cry echoed into the night.

Trilling sounds errupted from all around the festering Preatorian champion. Gi'this swivled his head just in time to see a spiraling javelin slam into his neck.
The spear stuck lightly into the thick chitin armor but deep enough to make it stumble back on its severed leg.
Tar'nithkis leapt onto the Preatorian's back from out of nowhere, his wrist blades outstretched. Two of his remaing warriors followed closely behind, the first leaping up to join the arbiter while the other ran to Thei-de.
Tar'nithkis called to Thei-de as he hung from the Preatorian's back.
"Sorry about the wait, we ran into a bit of trouble!"
Gi'this frantically tried to toss the hunter off his back.
There was a loud crunching sound as the arbiter was tossed to the ground, landing on a limp leg.

The great Preatorian whipped his tail around and slapped the nearest Young Blood across the face with the broad end of his tail.
The flat end of the blade impacted the warrior with so much force that only an ear-splitting cracking sound could be heard as he toppled like a limp rag doll.
The hunter landed face down in the snow, blood streaming from under his mask...

Tar'nithkis howled in rage.
"Thei-de!" he called from the other side of the beast. "Can you still fight? We need your help!"
The hunter next to him offered a hand.
"Let's kill this pauk!"

Suicide, yes. Impossible, no.

Kingston leapt, her arms outstretched towards the ladder. As she flew towards the hatch, her world slowed.
The ravager brought down a heavy limb directly behind her, blowing chunks of concrete all around her. It's next hit was far more accurate...

The air screamed as the abomination brought down yet another heavy blow. The coloassal sythe slammed against the concrete ahead of her, spraying her with rubble shrapnel.
Kingston flew blindly through the great dust cloud in front of her, her fingers still stretching for the rungs.

Growing dark shadows above her told her that another blow was coming. Kingston closed her eyes as she anticipated the blow.
Then, she felt sweet salvation. Her fingertips connected with cold steel as her hands reached the welcoming ladder.
Kingston fell down the shaft, grabbing the rung with her free hand. She slammed roughly asgainst the side of the wall and then fell to the floor benathe the open hatch. She looked up from her back just in time to see a heavy sythe crush the hatch into the building.

There was no going out that way anymore...

Gadaba reached out and grabbed hold of his staff and lefted it up and over, throwing the Preatorian over hs head. Pulling his staff out of the beast's chest turned and jumped into the creatur staff pointng to it's neck.

There was a moment of adjustment for Kingston as she went from a nightmare scenario to the relative safety of the Commons. She wary of the Xeno above her, unsure how determined the beast would be in its chase. She was tempted to take a quick shot with the SADAR, but the memory of the first explosion was too fresh. Who knew how much damage she'd do to the building? Chances were she'd just be opening the place up to the Xenos like a can of sardines.

Her rise was sluggish, her parts reminding her that they did indeed have their limits. The launcher went back in its case, too dangerous to use inside. Weapon case in hand, Kingston headed for the garage. Ambrose had likely moved there after seeing her off. She'd receive orders from him. Perhaps she'd take to the garage roof if she couldn't immediately locate any officers and take another pot shot at the Giant.

Predator, pt XXII.
Gadaba hurled the beast over his shoulders with great strength. The Preatorian fell to the ground with a great THUD!
As it attempted to get to its feet, Gadaba thrust the staff into the beast's fleshy neck. The tip plunged deep into its throat, spraying gouts of thick acid into the snow.
The Preatorian screamed as it wriggled around in the snow. Gadaba pressed his staff down deeper untill the tip ripped through the back of the throat.
The Preatorian's cries stopped as blood filled its chest cavity. It's twitches ceased as the hunter pryed the staff from the corpse.

With another guard out of the way, Gadaba was another step closer to the alpha...
