All About NASCAR

*nods* That's what it is about for most of them...but you still have a few hard core racers out there...wanna talk about nothing but money, Formula One has really turned into that :(

I think that most of the racers do it because they love the sport. I think the corporate moguls are the ones turning it into a money thing!

*nods* they find out how much money they can make and decide to become an owner - seems like it's becoming the posh thing to do at the moment. Very few actually care about anything but how much money the driver can bring in for them :(

But a majority of the drivers start out on the dirt tracks, very young, catch someone's attention and they never even dream that they will make thousands of dollars per race, never mind the sponsor deals. They just want to get out onto the big track with all their heros and prove to themselves and everyone else they can drive as well or better.

Unfortunately, a lot of the up and comings are f the mindset that if they can be better than their heros they can get rich :(

I think that the true love of racing in me wants to believe that all drivers do it because they love it, and its the outside influences that cause them to lose their way.

*nods* Those bad bad owners and their evil sponsors...actually, I can see that happening. All the money the sponsors put into a team, it puts pressure on the owners, who then put pressure on the driver...and then you have the whole "sexiest people" journalists/reporters who put even MORE pressure on them...is it really any wonder JR has a hard time finding a date he can be sure isn't just after his money or the limelight she'd get from dating him?

I thought that same thing when you told me that he has a hard time finding a date. I guess a few people might have learned a lesson from what happened with Jeff and his "trophy girl" wife, Brooke.???

hey you see who made the race with out a provisional morgan shepheard who is going to give him tires this time around?

Hmmm...I find it difficult to think that was all there was behind the breakup though. Some people are attracted to the drivers until they really get out there and then they can't handle he fact that it's so dangerous out there for real. Especial after Dale's death...I don't think I could have been involved with one of the drivers at that time and not have freaked out everytime they got on the track for the next six months. But I think there was some issues on both sides of that breakup that have never made it out, nothing concrete to go on, just "a feeling". Of course, there are three sides to every issue, his, hers and what really happened ;)

As i was looking back through the race results from the passed Fotana races i noticed thet Rusty Wallace has always done pretty good there. He starts 9th Sunday and was 9th fastest in first practice. So, I was wondering:

Do you think Rusty Wallace will end his one race non win streak This sunday?

:D  :D  :D
