All Republicans should read this article

Civil rights legislation didn't reduce racism one bit.

If the civil rights legislation had improved the behavior of blacks, white racism would have declined. Instead it was followed by five years of black ghetto riots, and more durable increases in black social pathology.

Those who blame whites for black dysfunction need to explain why black dysfunction has gotten worse since the civil rights legislation was signed.

Do you really spout this shit?

"If Jews weren't so rich and greedy, there's be less anti-Semitism."

"If women weren't hormone bombs and baby factories, there wouldn't be gender inequailty."

Uh, maybe when you let a whole community out of a 400-year-long macro version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they're not all going to be perfectly well-adjusted reasonable people right out of the gate?

Up until the Kennedy Administration, the closest thing to being black for a white guy in America was being Irish or a Jew. No, for a moment, let's assume you're one of those two types of people--I'm Irish-American--and, on top of it being damn near impossible to get a job, torturing or executing you publicly for the smallest imagined social slight was considered perfectly acceptable in about half the country and terrorizing the living fuck out of you as long non-members of your group weren't affected was also perfectly reasonable. Under those circumstances? What would you do?

The Irish in Ireland were under slightly less horrible conditions in the UK and they ended up sending bombs into public spaces, murdering, and disappearing people as recently as the 1990s.

But for the most part you've been forgiven. On a side note a few years ago a friend of mine was working on a script and asked me what I'd say if he called me a smoked Irishman. Apparently that's old timey slang for for black. I had a good laugh because I told him to hold on while I looked it up and I told him it would depend on if I had my laptop (this was before everybody had smart phones) on me to even know that I was supposed to be offended.)

War on drugs
Welfare Reform

Those are probably the two biggest factors.

No one forced blacks to take crack cocaine. Why didn't the war on drugs harm poor Vietnamese war refugees who immigrated to the United States?

How does it feel to have to keep making excuses for blacks? Don't you wish you could point out how well they have done since the civil rights legislation was signed, and how they have disproved those who used to say they belonged to an inferior race?

It doesn't matter if someone forced them to take crack or do weed. The laws were still designed specifically to harm their community. On the off chance that they weren't they weren't changed when it was realized that was what was happening in practice so either way it's still wrong. Who cares why it didn't hurt poor Vietnamese war refugees. I honestly don't know shit about their cultural backgrounds to make any comments.

It feels fine to keep making "excuses". I do wish I could point out how well they have done but the civil rights legislation was for starters not that long ago and there is still on going damage.

During the turn of the last century hundreds of thousands of Jews moved to the United States from Eastern Europe, especially Russia. The vast majority of them were destitute. Nevertheless, they had low rates of crime and illegitimacy. Their children performed well in school. By the 1920's Ivy League colleges had quotas to reduce the number of Jews in their student bodies.

Jews were persecuted for over a thousand years. This persecution culminated in the Holocaust. Nevertheless, in Europe and the United States Jews dominate every area that requires superior intelligence. One out of five Nobel Prizes has been won by a Jew, even though Jews are less than one percent of the world's population.

The success of Ashkenazi Jews despite the odds demonstrates that race matters. Genes matter.

The problem with your argument is that black behavior has gotten worse since the civil rights legislation was signed. This is what was predicted by opponents of the civil rights legislation when it was being debated.

Those laws were made AFTER Civil Rights legislation was signed as well. You change the rules and get predictable results, I could do that to any group of people on the planet I promise you.

After the civil rights legislation was passed into law black rates of violent crime increased. It did not suddenly become illegal to engage in murder, robbery, and rape, but blacks became more likely to engage in these crimes.

It's all connected however. I know you want to pretend like these things aren't all part of the same whole but they are.

Of course it is connected. When blacks feel they can get away with criminal behavior, they commit more crimes.

From 1964 to 1968 Northern cities were convulsed with black ghetto riots. There were no riots of any size in the South, because blacks in the South knew that whites there hated them and were eager for any excuse to kill them in large numbers.

The black ghetto riots stopped abruptly with the presidency of Richard Nixon. Even northern blacks knew that the party was over, and that Nixon would clear the streets with machine gun fire.

ROFL. Blacks never feel they can get away with crime in this country. But it's good that you admit you're a fan of someone who has no problem turning machine guns on the populace.
