AmPic Thread, Yay or Nay?

So, would I...? How do I go about it? Is there an ettiquette to it? Must I photo the cock? Would not doing so be poor taste? Would doing only that also be poor taste?

I haven't wandered over there since I first got to Lit and checked out all the forums, but back then there were threads of all kinds. Some subtle &/or tasteful, some nothing but crotch shots. Unless the rules have changed with the new pornography/age laws, I'd think either would be fine.

The ego-stroking wasn't really the purpose of this thread though (really, it wasn't!)... I was curious what would or would not prompt you to post a thread dedicated to risque photos of yourself, and what makes that different than posting avatars that are risque. If Snoop or SJ would like to answer this one (or anyone else who has an AmPic thread) I'd me most grateful.

Thank you all for your responses. I actually expected the poll between "No" and "I'm too chicken" to be more equal. I'm rather surprised that "No" is by far the leader!

Let me say for the record that I would sell my soul (admittedly, fairly tarnished and lacking in resale value) if you would start a AmPic thread.

I've had a thread in the AmPics forum for quite a few months now. I'm really enjoying it, and others seem to as well despite the limitations of me never showing my face, or my naughty bits. I try to give most of my pictures a bit of an artistic spin, and that has been well received.

The regular posters in the AmPics forum usually give overwhelmingly positive support. It's very enjoyable there.

ETA: My motivations for the thread are rather complex. First, I've been self-conscious about my body for a long time, and yes, the ego-stroking helps with that and it's nice. I have a little bit of an exhibitionistic streak as well as a sex drive that is quite accellerated at certain times of the month. The pictures actually act as a vent for much of that sexual energy if sex either isn't an option or is not enough.

I like to create works of art, and I love to experiment with colors/b&w, shadows and other elements. I don't do that in all my pictures, but a large part of them.

There's more, but much of it is rather difficult for me to express, so I hope this helps a bit.

I had an Ampic thread once upon a blue moon... however, no one at the AH knew anything about it. (This was way before I'd ever posted personal AVs.) I used an unknown alt. It stayed up for awhile... then I asked for it to be removed. I won't do it again.

Thanks for the reply, Jen. I've seen your photos and I think you're lovely, and the photos are very tasteful.

I'm not sure what the difference is between sharing revealing avs and sharing revealing photos, other than a thread of photos would mean they are accessible to anyone at any time. Of course, anyone can right-click an AV, too.

I've never had an Am pic thread here, but I have hd my photos on various different website of my own, and I really enjoyed it, but then, I'm an exhibitionist.

It's a really good ego boost, I've very rarely had negative comments (I only remember one instance of negative "U R fat" kinda comments and they're easily deletable) and I'm always amazed by how many men and women enjoy looking at my body.

I think abut doing it again, because it is alot of fun, but you do have to keep on top of it, replyin to all comments, keeping the pics coming fairly regularly, so it can take a fair bit of time.


Note 2 Joe: Don't just do the cock thing, it gets kinda boring. Keep pics varied and not all about the genitals. I know i love mens chests, bums, hands, arms, faces etc and enjoy those far more than the typical " oooh lookie, I am a man and I have a penis!" cock pics

You bring up a good point Boota: It's worth considering our partner's feelings in the matter. I suppose ultimately it's my body, my choice, but posting a few pictures isn't worth starting WW III over!

Apologies for butting in ... but I noticed your post and would like to say that I've not come across a nasty person in the 12 months I've had a thread there.

Has anyone else ever played with the idea of starting a thread in the AmPic forum? I know a few of you have threads, what made you decide to start posting? Are you just exploring your exhibitionist side, or something else?

I'm considering it, but ... pffft. I don't know. I've shared a few risque avatars here, but it seems different to have an entire thread dedicated to risque photos. I've only ever shared stuff privately before, and this seems like opening myself up to the whole world.

I started mine to explore my exhibitionist side, and to see what kind of responce it got. The feedback I got really improved my self-esteem and self-worth, even though there wasn't really a large crowd.


However, I have to say I'd love to see one of you Your AVs always rock afterall, would love to see a more varied display of them, rather than just whatever one you happen to be using at the time
