Harold honey, as far as I know ALL religions have ppl who say "i'm religious." In the Jewish religion, the term "i'm religious" is used all the time! Except, of course, the people who say "i'm not religious."

Let's narrow this down a bit.

I gather that you are Jewish and you and other people you know occasionaly use the phrase "i'm religious" -- correct?

Do you use that phrase to define your position on everything, or just when the subject of religion comes up? Do you use that phrase to define yourself in everyday life?

For a large percentage of fundamentalist christians, that phrase is how they define themselves -- it's more of a catch-all description of everything about them than it is a matter-of-fact admission that they have some religious belief.

It's not a matter of what was said, but the context and timing of when it was said.

just a really quick (please don't think i'm being patronising, honestly i'm not!) THANK YOU! it is great to see a debate taking place, on a regularly discussed topic which tends to revolve around the whole 'how' end of the matter.

i lack the biblical, koranic (if you get me meaning, like!) etc knowledge to debate the morality of anal sex. as such this debate is even more interesting... some one could easily state an untruth and i'd have no idea at all.

I'm trying to remember what the Bible said regarding anal sex without actually getting up, crossing the room, hauling out my Bible, and slogging through Leviticus, where most of the rules are, but it's my impression that while there were laws against homosexuality, bestiality, and rape, and a woman on her period was ritually unclean until she was off it and had furthermore undergone a ritual bath, there was no specific prohibition as to what a man and woman could do together.

Oh, and the whole ritual uncleanness thing is a mystery to me--I've heard of people practicing anal sex to avoid the "issue of blood." WTF? It's kind of a given that in anal sex, unless the person on the bottom has voided recently and/or cleansed him/herself, the penetrator is going to end up with something rather repellant on the end of his/her instrument, and why this is to be preferred over blood, or even red wings, I really do not know.

Sorry if I´m am somewhat aggressive on this one, but the question in itself already hints at a somewhat narrow mindset (and Christianity, because of its conservativeness, often is the reason for this when it comes to sex), so the general advice I would like to you give is: USE YOUR OWN BRAINS (if they are still around) AND DON´T LET YOUR RELIGION/PRIESTS DO THE THINKING FOR YOU, OK!!!???

I dont think the question is does religion find it wrong...the question is do YOU find it wrong? If you have a relationship with God...which I am assuming you do, pray on it. See how you feel. Well, there is always this, to believe in God is to trust in the church, regardless of the religious up bringing. Protestant, Catholic, etc. This be told, to love your partner, you should trust them, hopefully completely. If you trust them, experiment with them, if you believe in God, you trust that in which the ministry, father, priest tells you about him.

If you trust your other, trust in what makes them happy.

The bible is broad in explanation of some things and vage in most other areas.

After all, when was the last holy war started because of sodomy..??

Finallly someone who at least can be arsed to read the bible! (Leviticus is a favourite of mine when confronting liberal christians who seem to think that christianity is some sort of sunday school.)
I'm an atheist and I love anal sex. But I think a lot of people are fooling themselves when they do the "Ahh but the Bible was written long time ago. That was then. This is now."
If God exists, then he is eternal. And God doesn't change his mind about what is immoral. If he did, it would mean that he was wrong earlier (or is wrong now) and therefore he would not be perfect. God is not a politician. If he exists, then he doesn't need to adapt to modern society.
And the thing with Jesus was not that "Everything is allowed from now on." It's "Everything (almost) can be given forgiveness for from now on".
After having performed anal sex, it's not enough to think God is happy with you anyway. You have committed a sin, and must behave like if it was any other sin. That is, ask for forgiveness, and mean it.
And this thought that "God created me, so I can do whatever I want"... Well, Does that include Murder? Rape? Pillage? Burn? As you have seen, you can not do whatever you want, even if God created you in his own image.

Feel free to point out that there's a lot of weird things in the bible, and it may have been revised several times by unscrupulous men, but remember: why should "love thy neighbour" be any more christian than anything else in the bible? I mean, if you accept that the bible does contain things that are not directly or indirectly from God (even though it's interpreted that way)-- how can you be sure of what is and what isn't? You won't know until you're dead, and then it may be too late for anal sex.

So I have two advices:
1. Quit God and go ahead with anal sex. (my choice!)
or
2. Stay with God, but stay away from anal sex. And then do not ever ask here at the Literotica forum if certain sexual acts are OK with God (everything is OK here!).

I was brought up as a member of the Church of England which doesn't seem to have any strong edicts about sex other than outside of marriage its wrong.
The Catholic church however has doctrines about every thing and use fear of pleasure as a weapon to stop people form working. they teach that any form of sexual activity that doesn't end up with a potetnital pregancy is wrong. the simple premise here being that if the general population are having sex without the risk of pregnancy how can you control them and get them out working themselves to death in the fields? the poor get to the point where they don't have sex because they can't feed another mouth so the church gets the xcess energy in the form of hardwork in the fields and what do the people get zilch de nada zip nothing but a nsty guilt complex and an achong back.

Sorry to rant but it really does annoy me and I speak only of the Catholic church and no other.

Hehe, funny enough, early on in my current relationship, I told my girlfriend I thought anal sex was gross. I didn't actually think that, but all the other girls i've been with thought that, and the current one is "religious", so I assumed she was not into it, and just played it safe.

But later on, I slowly ascertained that she may not be. Later on, during oral play, I noticed that she was pretty sensitive around the anus after arousal, which was a new thing to me. Then one day, I teasingly asked her about it, and she said she was indeed curious.
