Another republican admits to dick touching...

I'm not defending him. I'm asking why it's such a big deal. He pled guilty, so there's no point in trying to defend him... I just wonder if they could have gotten a conviction otherwise... I'm still not sure what crime was committed.

It's called solicitation... and... he did plead GUILTY....

you know.. as in "I did it"

Solicitation? Of what?

Let's say he's all out gay, and he was flirting with the guy. I still don't see the crime.

Okay, so was the actual crime that he attempted to fuck another man in a public restroom?

Am I just being slow, here?

I mean, the guy (I think) is married, so he's a douche for trying to fuck guys behind his wife's back, and he's a chicken shit for not admitting that he wants to suck dick. That stuff I buy.

I'm just a bit hazey on the criminal aspect...

Its one of those "crimes of definition." Its a crime "because we say so."

Its hard to write a law which gives penalties for asking for a blowjob, but you can write one which prohibits asking for one in certain places, where it might annoy people.

The article said there had been complaints about this kind of stuff at the airport, which is why a policeman was assigned to sit on a airport toilet instead of chasing terrorists.

That's what it boils down to then.

I mean, obviously the guy wasn't "innocent"... but if there's been a lot of gay sex in this airport, then it's easier to see why they'd crack down on stuff.

i could care less where he wants to stick his cock. what i do care about is the hypocrisy.

The fishy part of the story is the Senator's lack of indignation at the time. Senators are not known for their humility. Its hard to imagine him not using the "do you know who I am, how dare you accuse me of such a thing" card. Nobody claims he actually said anything. Its all tied up in some kind of secret homosexual sign language. I think the most damning thing for the Senator is the fact he wanted to let the incident fade quietly, with no attention. His only chance to play the "innocent by reason of not gay" card was lost when he plead guilty to what amounted to a charge of homosexual solicitation.

You don't have to be gay to get caught up in this sort of disaster.

It reminds me of a story my father told me about his first week in the Army. He and about a hundred other men were standing outside a building, waiting for something to happen. There was one man, who really wanted out of the Army. He was walking around, asking if anyone wanted a blowjob. Soon enough, another man pulled out his cock. The first guy grabs it tights, screams as loud as he can and starts to run. The colonel looked out his window to see a pair of soldiers running in a circle, one dragging the other by his dick.

I asked if that got him out of the army. My father wasn't sure, but he never saw either of then again.

LMAO Ouch! Too funny... but kinda sad at the same time.

Yeah, he admitted guilt to try to sweep it under the rug, apparently. I wonder who dug it out... if it was the cop or some reporter looking through public records.

I'd be all for him having sex with male prostitutes if that's what he wanted to do... but he voted against gays and lesbians having the same rights as straight people, and just like Ted Haggard and Mark Foley, he's full of shit, and gay (or a pedophile) himself... all these incidents within one year... and people still defend them, just because of their political affiliations.

Larry Flynt must be dying from laughter.

I hope you weren't referring to me.

I wasn't defending him at all. I was merely asking what crime he committed... and by crime, I mean breaking the laws of legality, not being a hyprocritical douche.

I was speaking in general, or maybe in specific about vetteman, who defends every single one of the republican scandal-makers.

When Louisisana Senator Vitter was outed as a heterosexual this summer, the Republican blog machine went into high gear. I got lots of email links to sites which all had the same theme, which was a Republican Senator who patronises prostitutes is better than any Democratic one.

It was that DC newspaper Roll Call that found the story and published it.

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with it. What type of newspaper is it?

um - political? I dunno - I just googled it and it says "Covering Capitol Hill since 1955"

I often wonder just what breeds such dogged loyalty.

It's almost pathological with some people.

It exists on both sides, though.

Political loyalty is often like sports loyalty.

Many Packer fans who would gladly have slashed Randy Moss' tires when he was a Viking would have eagerly sucked his dick if he had signed with Green Bay instead of New England.

Ahhhh dick sucking. The true measure of how much of a fan of someone you are.
