antidepressants fail 50% of time

No, I meant, what the fuck do you know about me. Your assumption that I have no knowledge in regards to this is moronic. Also, it's condescending to think that your age gives you this all mighty perspective. Schizophrenic medication and medication for depression are completely different.

It's not a myth, bisexplicit. The older, the wiser. You need to experience life a little longer to know what most people are saying here.

And schizophrenic medication and depression medication are medications used for the same illness. One just needs more than one.

Uh...schizophrenics use antipsychotics while depressed people take antidepressants?

Though people with panic/anxiety/paranoia problems also take antipsychotics sometimes...

Well, you best get to google searching again, doll. Many antipsychotics are given to depressed people, even children.

So isn't it also moronic that YOU assume I have no knowledge of depression.
Kinda like the pot callin' the kettle black isn't it.

and i agree, meds used to help me all the time. Not that i needed them, they were just fun.

Not for depression alone...sometimes to counter act mania and such caused by antidepressants...but antipsychotics aren't prescribed for depression alone...

Lay some blame at the feet of health insurance. It's cheaper to medicate than pay for therapy. Most US health insurers will only pay for specific diagnoses for specific periods of time. If your problem isn't fixed in 6 months, oh well.

"Cured" is subjective and it depends largely on what the individual's expectations are. If you've been given unrealistic expectations then what are the chances of satisfaction? I tried an anti-depressant for about six weeks. Yes, it stopped the crying and the doom and gloom. I also didn't care...about problems, about the state of my life, nothing. It scared the shit out of me!

They do help some people but unfortunately I believe they are pushed by the medical community, the pharmaceuticals, and insurers. It's not that different from diet pills vs. changing lifestyles and eating habits. Just my opinion.

I won't argue anymore about this. I've been dealing with people in my life with these problems for over 12 years. I've seen some good and seen some bad. For the most part, the meds. are bad news. They always cause more problems. Look at you, doll. You've got tons of side effects. Before you know it, you'll be doing the stare, doing the shuffle or putting a gun to your head, and this time, the trigger will be pulled.

Over and out.

1) I wasn't talking to you.
2) I assume you have no knowledge of it, because of the idiotic statements you made. Anyone who was aware of how to cure depression, would know that you don't just say "Okay, if I think that things could be worse, I'll get better."

Psychiatrists should be locked up. These drugs almost killed a loved one of mine who was under 13 - more than once. They overmedicate children. Bastards!

How did I know you came from the playground?

I'm doing really well lately :) For once...I can actually leave the house without having a panic attack...I haven't had one in months...its amazing...I'm actually starting to live a some-what normal life...considering getting a job and everything...though I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet...

That's a really shitty thing to say, and false, as you seemed to have just proven for us. The older the wiser? Give me a break. She probably has more life experience in her pinky finger than you do in your whole body.

I came from the poetry board. And?

Did you? Because I see a majority of your posts are from the playground. You jump in and say some awfully stupid things and make grave assumptions about people you don't even know. That's pretty indicative of the playground.

And did you feel like you had a good amount of experience when you had been dealing with it for seven years? I bet you did. How about, /I/ have been dealing with it personally for seven years. Still think I don't know anything about it?

Also, thinking that all mental health issues are the same is stupid. (See, I just /knew/ you were stupid!)

Only 50% of the time?

Heh, well one tight grip of a .38 pointed at one's own head has never failed.

Life and its problems just dissappear...

Degree of shelter not withstanding, she'd be correct.

Who said seven years? Not me.

And by the way you're acting, I completely understand why. Take some more. Christ!

Prove it.
disprove it. hard to do, isn't it?
but rationally speaking, if two people 10 years apart in age experience the same things at the same age, then the older person would have experienced more and thus have a larger pool of experiences with which to relate to future events.
Now obviously there are exceptions to this, but generally speaking it'll hold true.
If you don't know this, either: you're young, sheltered, or just not too observant.

No, you had mentioned that you had been dealing with it for twelve years. I was pointing out that you think you have more experience than I do dealing with depression - however, I feel that seven years is quite an adequate amount of time dealing with anything.
