Coriander (cilantro, to the seppos) is the soapy one to unfortunate people. I don't mind Marmite - a bit with cheese on toast or in a veggie stew helps - as long as I know what it is!I shudder at the very thought of flabby crumpets!
Not liking marmite seems like common sense, to me. I suppose it might be a genetic thing, like... broccoli, is it? Doesn't sound right. No, it's a herb I'm thinking of. Nope, it's gone. Whatever it is, to some people it tastes like soap, apparently. I wonder if the like it or loathe it with marmite is like that.
You may have bought the last long-handled scraper in the shop! I think the cold snap caught a lot of people out. My feet have been cold since what seems like forever, despite thick socks and central heating![]()
We had some German students visit college once. At breakfast, one scooped a couple tablespoons of Marmite from a huge bucket onto a plate and I asked if they knew what it was. Got "of course, duh!" in German. Followed by it all being spread on one slice of toast, a huge bite, and me learning the German for "WTF!! Are you trying to fucking kill me??"
I'm in a caff with my thermal tights and vest under my clothes, all lovely and warm, but forgot my boots are new and I haven't put fleecy insoles in yet. So my feet are freezing and another coffee hasn't helped.
