The weather has gone absolutely crazy. Its cold here but nothing compared to UK/ Ireland right now.

it's not that bad down south... plus i have my arctic clothes to wear. everything was iced at the nature reserve today.

no sign of any flowers yet, although friends have seen Snowdrops and a Crocus.

Isn't this what winters are supposed to be, though the flooding up north is pretty crap? The frost keeps the muddy paths in passable condition.

the cold keeps the hibernating animals asleep... or the bats will wake up and waste energy as there is no food. we have wilder, wetter winters now.

wait until there is one hot day in summer and everyone will moan that the country needs air conditioned everything!

Like so many towns everywhere Maidstone has changed enormously. Dartford and Gravesend have gone the same way but for seemingly different reasons.

I had some friends round for lunch and we ordered Chinese, seriously thinking next time to just use a sachet of microwave rice rather than paying a fiver for egg fried rice....
