Anyone from the UK?

Maybe he's ordering something else in?

I had some friends round for lunch and we ordered Chinese, seriously thinking next time to just use a sachet of microwave rice rather than paying a fiver for egg fried rice....
I put my rice on to boil, order the Chinese, collect from down the road 15 min later, drain the rice, all good. Add a pack of stir-fry veg cooked at home and it's even a healthy meal!

Never seen the point in paying for microwave rice myself - costs a lot and tastes weird.

Be brutal.

When my mum moved and I was clearing her cupboards I found tins and packets that were about 10 years out of date!
It took my FIL about 18 months to get down to only one freezer after MIL died. And another year before the under-stairs cupboard stopped doubling up as a spare larder. At least it meant we didn't need to worry about him not having enough food during lockdown...

I think nothing is more than a couple years out of date now, but wouldn't like to bet on it.

On the subject of Chinese, don't get those Sharwoods 'straight to wok' noodles - they're covered in mystery oil and go rancid really quickly. Just boil normal dried ones for 3 min and have done!

I used the last turkey stock today, so that's all the Christmas food gone apart from what's in the freezer.

I've got half a cupboard full of Christmas chocolates and biscuits that will likely end up being taking into work a few days before the best before date for the glutenous bastards I work with to devour my esteemed colleagues to eat

I work from home, mostly, so on the plus side I don't have to share with 20 colleagues in the office. On the minus side, the rest of my household probably eat as much as they would...

(obligatory mention that best before dates are only useful for stock rotation purposes, and anything in an airtight container should be fine for another year or so, if not decades...)

Yeah I got some shortbread with a best before date of last November which is probably still alright, I'll probably try it soon and see
