Arabian Nights...

The wall of fire was getting closer, he was starting to smell singed clothes, for some reason the fire was just too close, and it wasn't stopping. The heat was too intense, and it wasn't stopping. The flames were too bright, and STILL it wasn't stopping.
Garret screamed again, as he had done for almost an eternity now, trying to stop the searing pain that came from the flames. He saw in horror as it never wavered, never stopped, no matter what was there.
Garret looked out of the fire, watching the screen, somehow the flames didn't feel so bad when he looked into the screen, even though there wasn't much to see, and what was scared him even more than being burned alive.
Garret watched...

He had finally woken up, his strength back to normal. Garret knew Vixen was about to become part of his minion. He was waiting for it to kick in her system, but she was fighting it, if only he had given her more poison.
Water under the bridge, Garret said to himself, and laughed.
"YOU HEAR ME GREAT FIGHTERS," Garret screamed, knowing they all heard them, " I AM STILL HERE, AND YOU ARE GROWING WEAK."
Garret decided to throw a curve ball, "I KNOW WHO YOUR SISTER IS REI. I KNOW WHO USED TO OWN THE PENDANT. GIVE IT TO ME AND I WILL TELL YOU WHERE AND WHO SHE IS."
Garret stopped, letting the echos filter through the halls, it seemed eerie as it finally grew quiet.
Garret spoke up again, "THAT ISN'T A GOOD ENOUGH DEAL? I WILL THROW IN THIS WEAKLING TOO, NOT BAD PRICE FOR SUCH A SIMPLE TRINKET."
Garret reached out, as if his voice was coming from the walls themselves, "DO NOT MOCK ME. I WILL GET THE PENDANT NO MATTER WHO DIES TONIGHT, AND BELIEVE ME, IF I DON'T GET IT SOON THERE WILL BE A DEATH."
Garret licked his pointy teeth laughing heartily. He knew it wouldn't be long now.
Sooner than he thought, as the door opened. Garret couldn't wait to see who it was.

Rei: i walked into the room a fire set ablaze in my eyes i stared down the monster that was inside of garret
"come on out you old wizard and face me like a man. leave the Boy out of this. this is what you want isnt it."
i held up the pendant roland had handed to me
"You Want it old man. come out and get it. otherwise im coming in after you. But tell me first you lowlife has-been. where is my sister. Where is Mina You Bastard!!!!!!!!!"

OOC/Note:
Vixen's pendant was infused with the Goddess energyw when Isoud was ravished.
So Roland's pendant maybe when Tristam?

Vixen heard Garret's now evil voice echo through the halls. She shivered. Goddess... if only the cold would stop she thought. Should she tell Sith of her strange symptoms? Maybe he could help her?

She gulped, the fire she was standing near barely registered. Again, that voice, mocking her. "Vixen, just remember... he's in your mind... ONLY in your mind..." she told herself. The pendant flickered valiantly but Vixen could see it's power was severely dampened by whatever was inside her.

She recalled what Garret had done for her. If he was still alive... if there was any chance to save him... she had to confront the Warlock. She picked up her knives and slipped them into boots and sleeves. Hiding them easily amongst the folds of her dress. Her cleavage was emphasized in the low cut gown. Well, she thought nervously, every bit counted didn't it? She smiled ruefuly into the mirror. Were warlocks even tempted by human females?

She slipped out of her chamber looking around to see if Sith or Roland were still about. Seeing neither she scampered down the hall to where Garret's body was kept chained. She didn't notice Abdusalim following her silently in the shadows...

Abdusalim

_This time I wont be out of the action when my rose pricks somebody with her thorns_ thought Abdusalim as he stood hiding in shadows. That was a skill he had to learn when he was young to survive in a city like Baghdad.

He saw her come out, completely distracted, which was not usual in her. Her strides took her purposelly to Garret's cell. He followed her as silently as the wind on the sand.

Vixen reached Garret's cell and touched the door. She jerked her hand back. Cold. She shivered. She looked down at her hands and watched almost facinated as they trembled before her. Clenching her fists she took a deep breath and steadied herself for what was to come.

She tried the door again, ignoring the cold. It didn't budge. She almost laughed at herself. Of course it was locked. Her breathing was rapid as she pulled out her tool to manouver the lock. She fiddled... a lot longer than she would have normally. Tears pricked at her eyes as she fiddled the lock with frustration. Finally she heard the familiar click of a lock turning. With a visible sigh of relief she pushed the door open.

She felt the pendant at her throat, it almost pulsed as she entered the room. She saw a man chained flat to a table and gasped in shock as she looked at Rei. She hadn't expected anyone to be here. She looked at what he was holding over the warlock. A pendant... a pendant almost exactly like her own. Her pendant glowed in response to it and Vixen felt her legs weaken. She grabbed the door frame to hold herself up.

Garret turned his head and saw her there. He laughed, his eyes full of glee, and wicked malice as he licked his lips, taunting her. She felt herself being pulled inexplicably closer to him. Her hands gripped the door frame but she felt her body betray her. She walked forward as if she were a puppet held by strings. She felt the cold increasing. Goddess... please stop this cold she thought.

Rei turned to see her and frowned. "Vixen, what are you doing here, I thought you were resting?"
Vixen couldn't respond. She reached the warlocks side and looked down at him. She saw him straining... his gaze fixed on her pendant. She wavered a little.
"I know what you want... but know this... you'll not get it... never... not while my friend remains in danger..." Her brow beaded with sweat as she fought against the cold that throbbed inside her. She heard his voice again whispering in her skull. "Think of the warmth... so sweet... aren't you tired?... so much easier just to give... then you can rest... warm again... warm..." it cajolled. Vixen winced as she fought to keep her mind straight. Her hand found a knife. It gave her strength. She slid her hand down and felt the blade slice into her palm. The pain was intense and sharpened her wits a little. The warlock before her yelped and howled struggling in its bonds, both Rei and Vixen looked at him in surprsie.

The door was wide open when Abdusalim slipped into the room after Vixen.

Meanwhile...

Back at the path, lokken's men had finished and washed up." I feel a dark presence", Lokken told Thrinta," Where is it, my Lord?" Thrinta asked." At the palace in Baghdad, I'm going back", Lokken told the demon.

Garret screamed again, knowing it was useless. He was going to burn up in his self conscienceness. What a way to go, Garret closed his eyes, hoping it would be over soon.
He thought of a nice cold block of ice, cooling his hands. He could hear the cold air, blow onto him.
Garret opened his eyes, suddenly, did he feel something cold on his hand? Garret looked, there, in plain sight was a block of ice.
A sudden thought came to him.
"Garret, you idiot, this is your own mind, that warlock might be a god here, but so are you."
Garret felt his mind get stronger, sharper.
He waved his hand, and in a poof the flames were gone.
Garret smiled, but he felt totally drained. He needed to rest before he could challenge the warlock for possesion of his soul, for now Garret simply watched the screen, and hoped no one died...

Garret watched Vixen lean forward, seeing her beauty, warlocks weren't immune to love, they just simply had better things to do. He looked back at Rei, he was soo close with this one. A few more empty promises.
"Ok Rei, you win. I will start to cast the spell that will make me leave the body of your friend here, and he will be for the most part, all right. But, before I finish it. I need the pendant, otherwise the spell won't work."
Garret slowed his breathing, he tried to look as serious as possible.
Vixen looked over at Rei, "Don't do it."
Rei said nothing.
"I give you my word. Here, I will start the spell. I believe you know a bit of latin. You can roughly translate it for the rest of them.
Garret closed his eyes, gathering energy.
"Hyroil, Piknew, Grossen la grate. Howli Tiku muchas paslay.
Give me the power, I beg of you. Giver me the power I beg of you
(OOC: I try to be original as the next guy, but a classic is a classic, 10 points for the person who correctly identifies what movie I ripped that off of)
IC:
There was a wind starting in the room, it came from nowhere, and it went to no where, but it was there just the same.
"Now," Garret spoke softly, "I need one of the pendant's to finish the spell. Hurry, if I don't finish it, then we will both die. I know you know this..."
Garret coughed, yelping in pain, "Please, hurry."
He held out his hand, one of them had to fall for it, the question was, who?
Garret felt the familiar cold stone hit his hand. He didn't open his eyes, didn't have to. He knew it was all over.
"Now," he said, "to finish the spell. Hekcro Fyler. Mytorth Pylon."
A sudden burst of energy came from the room, not from Garret though, rather from he four graplings holding his arms and legs. With four short bursts the grapplings came off. Garret arose in his bed.
"Damn magic proof bracelets, never do the job right."
He looked down at the two, smiling as he put on the pendant, still not knowing which one it was, but at this point it didn't matter.
"Fools, don't you get it? I am all powerful, there is nothing to stop me."
An evil laugh rose from him, "I AM YOUR GOD NOW."
"Not just yet you aren't," Garret stopped, looking around in the room, he saw Abdusalim, but what was he holding.
"It doesn't matter, human. I have what is mine, and now my magic is matched by no other."
He looked at Abdusalim, waiting for the next move.

"I hate to be the beare..." Lokken said as he rushed in, but muted himself when he saw Garret, "what the hell happened to you?" he asked.

Rei: "NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT!"
"Su rathia, Myn Sepia, Do Latina En Yoraku!!!!!" in a flash and a bang the other stone flew to his hand
"Now Warlock It is I who am in control! Tis Time To Bind the stones together!!! The moment i have waited for for countless millinia!!!!!"
i started to Merge them together and whoever came near me was thrown to the other wall
"Shami Da, Munsi pan, Lila Das, Mergero Un Deux!!!!!!!" Then in a huge flash of white light the two stones shimmered in the light and then came together becoming a Scarab like object. and landing in the hands of rei, Heir to the Throne of the Desert.....
OOC: man i am SO good.

Garret looked down at the prince with a bit of respect.
"Well, then. I leave you to your kingdom of sand and scorpions."
Garret kicked Rei in the face, hearing the familiar bone cracking sound as his nose broke. The force of the kick sending him right into the wall. He dropped to the floor, blood gushing.
Garret jumped off the table, looking at Vixen. He saw she had taken out her knives, this was going to be tricky.
Garret wiped his face clean, showing no expression, then in a sad voice, "Vixen, please don't hurt me."
She stopped, this had obviously suprised her, Garret smiled. That was all he needed.
It was a beautiful roundhouse, kicking her right in the stomache. She went down, winded, Garret held her head up.
"You fucking bitch, did you think I was going to..."
Abdusalim tackled him from behind. Garret fell to the ground, but quickly came back up. He saw the talisman.
"A foolish trinket human. It will do you no good."
Garret held up his hand, "Rofulky Hotus Mortica!"
A small fizzle of light escaped as Abdusalim was thrown to the ground. Garret smiled again, easier than pushing stupid animals off a log.
Garret walked up to the new stranger, standing in the way of the door. He paused, "Don't make me get arabian on your ass."
He took out a sword, preparing for battle, Garret rolled his eyes in boredom. He then sprinted for the newcomer, faster than any human could run. He tried to bring the sword down, but it was too late, the tackle was well planted. He layed out on the floor grabbing his stomache in pain.
Garret walked out into the hall, flexing his muscles, "Well, it is good to know this body is good for something."
He could hear someone trying to get up. Garret, knowing not to overstay his welcome, ran down the hall.
He laughed, "There is no one who can stop me now."

... "Oh yes there is," Garret arose, feeling his strength finally return to him. He felt more powerful than he ever had, powerful enough even to take on a god.
Garret slowly rose up into the light, ready for the final battle, that would either destroy him or free him of everything. Garret was going faster, the light now pulling him. He could now feel his hands, his body and it's aches. Things were alive again he was....

Garret stopped running, stunned. He couldn't believe it, the little twirp had gotten out.
"This is my party asshole, it's about time you left."
Garret shifted position, "This is my body, and I want it back."
A ferocious battle ensured, the only problem was there was only one body involved. To anyone looking on he would of thought it was a play, where a fool was fighting himself, but to Garret it was his one last play at freedom.
"LEAVE," he shouted, punching himself in the stomache.
"DIE," he spat back, throwing himself into a wall.
There was another struggle, then silence.
Garret layed on the floor, as he did before out of the window, stiff and still. There was no movement, no motion. It was all over.

Garret opened his eyes, and vomited. It was black, and hard. He threw it up all over the floor, there must have been at least a gallon of it, before he stopped. Garret layed back, the black ooze already disappearing, trying to catch his breath.
He was here, he was back, and there was nobody else to prevent him from living.
Garret closed his eyes, it felt good to close your eyes, and not look at a screen all day (yeah ok, i know, so sue me). Garret smiled, but felt funny.
Garret felt his teeth, they were sharp, much sharper than he imagined. All at once, a sudden thirst entered him, on he knew that no mere water would quench.
Then, it hit him, what they had been talking about earlier. The warlock was a vampire.
Apparently the vampire curse doesn't leave when a spirit does.
Garret opened his eyes, to see a sharp sword pointing at his neck.

Vixen coughed and spluttered, trying desperately to catch her breath. She wiped at her mouth with the back of her hand and saw blood. Shuddering, and taking a deep breath she stood shakily seeing Rei and Lokken both down, Abdusalim was gone. Ignoring the pain, she rushed for the door and in the hall she saw Garret's body on the ground with Abdusalim's sword at his throat.

Vixen cried out, even now not willing to see her friend die. "Abdusalim... NOOO!" He did not waver, but he didn't make the death blow either.
"My desert rose, I fear... your friend as you knew him is no more..."
"No..." Vixen's voice was a soft gasp.
Sith came down the hallway and lay one hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. "He is right Vixen... look at him... look at his skin..."
Vixen moved forward and knelt beside her friend. Her eyes pained as she took in the palour of his skin. "Oh... goddess, Garret... what did that bastard do to you?" Her voice wavered as she gazed down at him, even as she shivered again herself. She reached out and brushed his cheek with her fingers... "is it true? Will you really thank us for taking your life now?"
Garret looked up at her, he was so hungry... Vixen's skin smelt, warm... intoxicating... his eyes gleamed.
"Careful!" Abdusalim's voice warned.
Vixen didn't hear him... her gaze was caught... Garret's eyes held hers with a strange pull.
"Sith... Sith?... What?"
"I don't know..." Sith took her arm and tried to pull her away.
"No.... I.... " she tried to shake him off without even glancing his way Vixen continued to look into Garret's eyes. "Garret?... " she asked her voice uncertain.

Sith looked deeply in concentration for a few seconds.
"Wait a moment, I remember reading once that a just
made vampire can be undone. The ritual was complex. I need a library!"
As he said this, he cast some retaining shadow tendrils on Garret, just to be on the safe side.

Lokken walked out of the room, looking extremely angry. Quickly, he brandished a silver orb. He walked over to Garret." Do you know what this is, Warlock? You won't as you won't live very long, this body will, and only the first soul, yours, will die" he said, not knowing that Garret had regained control.

Rei: owwww. what a shot....jeezus christ.......
"reeeei...."
mina?
"Big Brother!!!"
Mina!!
"Rei your so strong! (childs laughter)"
oh mina....i have found you at last..and now...my mission compleated...i leave this world...(Cough Cough)...roland
"Roland....."
Roland ran into the room
"Roland......please take this..."
Rei handed roland the joined pendants...
"My time in this world grows short...and i wish that you would take these with my leave....Save vixen...Save her for i have forseen somthing great between you two..(Cough Cough)
please know i have not died in vain...my lifelong Quest has been compleated....I have found my sister....PLEASE...roland ... tell vixen i alwase knew of her kind heart....tell her to never give up the good fight...(Hack, Wheeze) Goodbye my friend...En Taro Adun...." and with those last words..rei passed away

Unknowing that the warlock had been vomitted forth, he began to use the orb of light, it quickly began to shimmer and many lights rays came out of it," now Warlock, you pay, with your life".

Vixen watched as Lokken's orb started to shimmer eerily. "NO!" She screamed throwing herself over Garret's body. "LOKKEN NO!" Her bruised neck was close to Garret's mouth. He struggled as the scent of her grew stronger in his nostrils.

Abdusalim's voice, "Vixen... dear rose... move away!"
"No... make Lokken stop... I won't have anyone... AHHH!"
She felt something warm on her neck... it felt... it made her tingle... she felt so warm...

Garrets couldn't stop himself, it seemed so natural... her neck was so close, he felt his teeth, his new teeth biting so easily into her soft skin and then the blessed taste of her. The warm blood quenching his hunger like nothing before ever had. He shuddered, she shuddered.

"Lokken!" Abdusalim cried out, "quick help me, we must get her off him before it is too late!"

ooc:... now people... before anyone suddenly tears Vixen away... remember a vampyres teeth would be deeply embedded... if you just pull me away... my throat will probably be ripped out killing me instantly... please think of something a little less obvious hmmm? thanx...

Roland: "Rei.....no..."
damnit all to hell
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"REIIIIIII!!!!DAMNIT REI! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE ON ME LIKE THIS? WHY!!!!" i sank down with the pendants glowing brightly in my hand and i walked out of the hall way with a sollem look on my face to find garret deeply biting vixens neck my eyes grew wide...
"No NOT VIXEN TOO!!!" i didnt take the time to think i put o both amulets and with my Enchanted Holy Knife i ran towards them Tears blurring my vision
"NO VIXEN NO!!!!!!!"
i leaped into the air
"VIXEN!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Roland: in a flash the holy knive reacted to the presance in
garrets body causing him to let go for an instant..i in the fastest i had ever been, shove vixen away from the vampyre..but found his teeth sinking into me..in a few moments all i heard was crying out and i heard and saw no more..
OOC: if im stepping on toes tell me quick so i can edit this.

Sith started chanting a spell. All the shadows in the room started crawling towards him, surrounding him completely, forming a cocoon. Then they crawled away from him an onto Rei, cocooning him. With another spell the cocoon and the body of Rei disappeared.

Seeing Roland's angry stare Sith said matter of factly "Now his soul and body are in the shadow plane, where we can easily locate him if we need to talk with him. You can use the mirror if you want... I know we wont get him back, not unless a greater power intervenes, but at least we'll be able to ask him questions."

Thus said, he left the room with a "If you excuse me...", and went to the library to search for the information about vampyrism.

OOC: uh sith i just threw myself into the vampyres bite so ya could have waited till this whole fiasco was over....

Lokken realized Garret was now a vampire, but he was still a friend." Okay, Garret, the only reason I don't kill you right now is because your a friend", Lokken told him, looking doubtful.

[Edited by Morgoth on 08-07-2000 at 09:10 PM]

ooc:... Morgoth... I don't think you should have done that... okay... look... this is advice okay... stop with the easy fixes. I think Garret should remain a vampyre... it would add a lovely twist to things as he'd have to deal with all the complexities this entails okay? We as his friends would have to learn to trust him, even as he has to learn to control himself... Roland... i don't want you turning into a vampyre yourself okay?... loose a little blood by all means... but one vampire for now is enough? hmmm? Morgoth, maybe you could just use your orb to scare Garret off when you think he's getting dangerous... just like people use crusifixes to ward off demons?... thats my piece... use it if you wish...

OOC: Actually I totally agree with Moneytalks. The whol reason I left the vampirism in my body after the warlock left, is so I could stay a vampire, because I want to.
Sith is looking for a cure, but he will be too late for me, but since I did bite two others, they can be saved.
IT would add a new twist to the already screwed up plot, and make for some interesting thigns down the road.
Just my opinion, is all.
