Are you a romantic?

I'm a little surprised you didn't get higher...;)

I scored 82

my test revealed:
According to your score, you are romance typified! Rose petals, poignant poetry, tall glasses of wine, touching moments, and sweet words are all loving gestures that you love to receive as well as offer. Romance is very important to you, and quite likely an aspect that you consider fundamental in relationships. Keep in mind however, that problems may arise if you are with someone who really isn't the romantic type. If you look forward to Valentine's Day to express your love and your partner doesn't even acknowledge it as a special day, you might end up feeling neglected or your efforts unappreciated. Nevertheless, even if your partner isn't as romantically inclined as you are, try to be appreciative of his/her efforts when she/he does try to woo you. Some people aren't comfortable displaying their affection in screamingly obvious ways, but this doesn't mean that they don't care ' they simply prefer to be more subtle. Whether it's you or your partner who is doing the romancing, check out the ideas in the Advice section for some simple and sweet romantic gestures that aren't tough on the wallet or too overwhelming.
I still have things to learn. ;)

Well, I am, apparently, hopelessly and incurably romantic -- I scored a whopping 96 (!) Rose petals and violins for me all the way I guess ...

wow. this surprises me.

" You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. "
Henry Drummond

" Romance is about the little things. "
Gregory J. Godeck

" Romance, like the rabbit at the dog track, is the elusive, fake, and never attained reward which, for the benefit and amusement of our masters, keeps us running and thinking in safe circles. "
Beverly Jones

" When one is in love, one always begins by deceiving oneself, and one always ends by deceiving others. That is what the world calls a romance. "
Oscar Wilde

To bask in the delights of idealized love is, in essence, to be a romantic. Hollywood, it seems, has personified romance as candlelit dinners in fancy French restaurants or giggly chases in slow-motion through daisy-filled meadows. The truth is that expressions of love and affection don’t have to be expensive or overwhelming. Holding hands, casual walks, or a simple “I love you” are those little things which can really go a long way. If you aren't comfortable with the traditional romantic protocol, you can come up with your own ways of letting someone know how much you care. The truth is that there are no rules.

It is important to note that romance is not a component of love that appeals to everyone; nor is it necessary to keep passion alive. Passion can be stirred by simply being respectful and honest with the one you love. Whether you’re a romantic at heart or a more pragmatic lover, as long as you’re willing to put your heart and soul into a relationship there is no amount of roses, candlelit dinners or four-string quartets than can measure up or compare to that.

An artist is surprised that she's a romantic? ;)

that doesn't surprise me....you have that "look".....it's a good thing btw

hmm.... is there a "romantic" look? lol..I had no idea!

But my score does make me wonder..so close to 100....hmm...wonder what I put that wasnt romantic?..lol

Definitely a romantic... scored a 92.

Funny thing is, as much of a romantic as I am, over the years I have kept it hidden or quiet because the men I dated would at first say "Hell yeah, I love that etc." then after X amount of time would start making fun of my gestures or scoff at them.

You can only do it for so long before you just feel rejected enough to stop doing it altogether... :(

now that's a shame....I don't get making of fun of people or scoffing at them....

I don't mind a little sarcasm now and then at proper times...but otherwise.....

I pretty much go all out for a special occasion for someone such as their birthday. I had been dating a man for about a year and a half and for his birthday so I arranged a surprise for him with three of his best buddies in on the surprise. I got him tickets to the college game he wanted to see so badly, reserved a steak dinner for all of them at a restaurant afterwards (paid for just his, but his friends already knew that), then they all went out to do whatever they wanted. When he came home to his place, he found that I had washed and detailed his car then put fresh flowers and a hand made card on his nightstand from me.

I didn't hear from him for two days and when I did his only comment was, "Oh yeah, cool." His friends, though, thought it was all an awesome present.

*shrugs* oh well. I learned.

maybe you are too good for him(ok that was an understatement)..........

or maybe you should date one of his friends instead....

Hmmmmm, a very dull guy with little imagination. Sorry, don't know him so shouldn't comment. However, if someone did this for me I would have been at her door with roses and a very romantic trip for two. I do understand the frustration though, when the other person does not "get it." Sigh...I have to keep being the romantic... for me I suppose. :rose:

It was about two months after that incident that I ended our relationship for a multitude of reasons and yes, he was shocked that I walked away.

I'm still very much the romantic... I've just been able to read the indicators as to whether or not it would be accepted or reciprocated. Too many times it's been seen as a way to enter a relationship, to "get the girl" so to say then once they have me/her they pretty much stop because they've accomplished their goal. :(

Pity that they don't understand that relationship has a perpetual cycle of romance in different forms and fashions. Romance is essential to show your lover that you want them, care about them, and you crave that smile they give you when you've touched them with your gift.

For a man in my life, I give myself to him. I love to cook for him, give him massages, dress sexy for both of us to enjoy, give him things that appeal to his tastes and interests, and of course, kiss him endlessly and all over through the entire night. Romance and passion are a fantastic combination and to show my man all my desire and have it returned the same makes me that much more receptive to showing him how romantic I truly am (but it takes time).

A romantic trip for two, eh Stryder? Just the thought alone would make me smile. To actually go on such a trip would blow me away! :) :rose:

Pretty close but I don't do poetry any more. I prefer my actions to show how much I care for someone, not whether I kill a plant for them. Which is what the Advice section suggests and most of which I have already done.
