I just wanted to say I think it is WONDERFUL that you and your son and whoever else can hang out together and party. I've been trying to get my mother into it, and I'm trying my best to bring up the best situation.

House and Trance... oh yes. I also LOVE Jungle now. My friend DJs hip-hop and jungle, and we TRY to throw local events in our county and town. It's hard when Sierra Vista is a retirement community filled with conservative people that are too stubborn to open themselves to new ideas.

Anyway, I'd love to party with you and your family and friends. Whenever you're in AZ again, PM me before-hand, and maybe we can meet up. We are meeting someone we met from this site in the near future and see what happens....

trying hard to picture those old folks partying to Jungle, Trance, House and Hip Hop music..... Come to think of it I have no frikkin idea what jungle or trance music is.... I guess my kid is right, i'm not a cool dad.... <sigh>.

Nothing wrong with Steppenwolf...but seriously The way you saw Steppenwolf is the way that most people my/MrOpius' age group see either House/Trance/Jungle or Hiphop.. Sometimes both. Its a turning of new musical expression, being cool isn't going with the all the new trends. Being cool is finding your niche and staying there..

My view on cool.

I didn't make my point very well. I have no opinion or the music you all mentioned, just realizing that I'm turning into my parents- when I was a kid, of course, they thought a Beatle was something that needed to be squashed.

I love music of almost all kinds, probably would like house or techno if i went to clubs anymore, since I don't the only way I probably hear it is when a car full of teenagers goes by the house with the windows open and scares my cats....

I used to be a raver! Actually, I still think I am? I haven't been to parties in soooo long. I actually miss them. That damn VIBE and loud-ass pounding music! Plus, I stopped since all I got for my money a few years back was hazy memories and a few fliers. Eh. Hardcore ain't that bad. But sometimes the repetitive bassline gets to me. I used to LOVE happy hardcore, now I listen to it and think, "Man, what drugs were I on?" Still, some of this music is still good, I still like HH and Hardcore, Ron D Core is an awesome LIVE DJ. I remember this elephant song that just TORE ME UP.

Anyway, just wanting to say HEY and keep the music alive!

I definately was into the rave scene for a bit, but never did any of the drugs, I was there for the music. Love Disco-styled trance, house, hard house the most. Good stuff... the Hardcore stuff was great, but the repetitive baseline did start to get to me after a while.

just wanted to say i went to the Santana concert last night at the Cricket Pavillion and WOW! what a damn cool show. it started at 7:30 and ended around 11 or so. a lot of people were there too which is great, but it was waaaaaaaay too cold and my dumb ass didn't bring a jacket. he played most of his hit songs, with some long instrumentals mixed in. overall, i'd say it was a great show and i look forward to seeing him again soon (and to get his new album ,"Shaman", on October 22nd!)
