Can't wait to come back and visit! Hopefully this coming summer. :)

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. Stay up north during the summer and come south for the winter. That's page one in how to snowbird.

Of course, being somewhat of an ex-pat, we'll be happy to have you anytime and join us for the misery of summer monsoon :)

But I miss the monsoon season. :( I love the thunderstorms as they move across the valley, the smell of the rain, the crash and boom of the lightning... *sigh*

Also, I'd rather take the hot, dry-as-an-oven heat over the sticky, sweaty crap I have to deal with here. I'm weird that way... ;)

I'm with you, mutato. I love the summers in Arizona! Of course it helps that I grew up here and I don't know any better.

I grew up there too and after 15 years here in CT and spending some summers in Iowa, I'd rather have the desert summers. Hell, I just miss the desert! :D

I can't believe I'm considering going to the state fair. Has anyone been yet? Is there anything fun to do?

I admit, I'm in it for the food. Being pregnant does that to a girl....

I haven't been to the State Fair in years but they usually have some decent shows. People watching is always entertaining. Sadly, in your current condition, you probably won't be able to enjoy many of the rides.

I thought you had a broom?

(Sorry BunBun. But I just couldn't resist, being so close to Halloween and all. :D)

I think she set herself up for that one!

though the image of sunbunny with her legs wrapped around a pole is quite enticing! :D

Hey, if the broom fits, ride it. *nods*

Alright Hum.. lol. I haven't been accused as a witch since the late 80's when my roommates ex figured his run of bad luck was due to me and my familiar...

I'd like to wrap my legs around a pole or two Mr Yonder..

and Dee.. hell yeah! ;)

I think they pretty much deep fry everything these days, it sounds somewhat revolting to me....... Actually, I'm just afraid to try it for fear that I might really like it!

I never made the AZ state fair.. the parking or lack of always scared me off..lol.

The only weekend I could get over to the Tx state fair was the same weekend of the OU/Ut game.. only a crazy person or diehard football fan would attempt it that weekend.. But I hear they deep fry almost anything there.. deep fried beer was popular this year..

Like souls I think... miss watching the storms blow across Havasu.. And just missing the desert and all it's beauty.

Evening everyone. Hopefully y'all had a good weekend.

Like souls I think... miss watching the storms blow across Havasu.. And just missing the desert and all it's beauty.

I agree, the harsh beauty of the desert will always be home to me. I have some pictures I took last time I was in Tucson about 8 years ago. I keep them rotating on my work computer as a screensaver.

And another week starts this bright monday morning..
So glad I'm off mondays.. :D

rub it in! though, i can't really complain since I must work from home! :)

so much more peaceful to look out over the desert landscape, losing myself in the vistas and mountains, than staring out at an ugly building I see from my office window!

I agree with the harsh beauty of the desert. It is just sad that the powers that be have so destroyed it in the Valley... Phoenix has got to be one of the ugliest cities around!

Ye Gods...... PK?! I didn't know you were still around! :) How's things?

I check in from time to time, lurking, peeking around corners, hiding in closets. Regrettably, there hasn't been much to see here for a while. Nice to see you've re-emerged. I've been well, otherwise.

And you?

No argument here (though I'm biased as a Tucson native)...

I have a decent view of the changing colors on the trees outside my office window, and while they are quite pretty, they only serve to remind me of the bare trees that will remain for the next 4 months. Depressing from my point of view. So I content myself with the pictures I have. Next time I visit I'm taking as many pictures as possible.

Same here. I guess we just can't stay away, can we ;)

I've been doing alright, really, and managed to hang on to a few shreds of sanity so all in all I can't complain.

I plan on sticking around for a while, barring any unforeseens, so maybe we'll bump into each other here and there!

I do envy you for the fall colors, they are so pretty. None of that down here on the desert floor... Not till January anyway..

I hear you've got a Nor'Easter of sorts coming your way...... Yuuuuuuuuck! I remember those from living up there. Tricky to deal with on your way to work. Stay warm and stay safe!

Yeah, there's supposed to be some sort of "perfect storm" coming early next week. I'll worry about it when it gets here. I've been living here for the past 15 years so not much fazes me anymore. Right now it's way too early to tell what it's going to do. When it does hit it will be pretty much the same day as last year's snowstorm which put 12" of snow where I live and knocked out power for most people for about 9 days. Another Halloween postponed due to the weather. :(

Well as long as you're not annoyed by it........ :D
