Boy! This thread really needs some help!
It's a perfect day in Lonesome Valley. Who wants to dance with me while the ribs are bathing in the smoker?
Dance naked around the fire pit?

We could use more rain here, Bunny. By all means bring your rain dance.

Naked or not, it doesn't matter. I'll be sure to stoke the flames just in case.

You do know that Zonies suck at driving in the rain.. and it rained here for over 13 hours straight..
Extra points if it happens to be a muddy puddle.
Did you know that most "Zonies" are from somewhere else and bring their sucky driving habits here with them?
Only the Native Zonies know how to drive in the rain, and that is to make the biggest possible splash as one races through a puddle. It helps to have a high-profile vehicle for the best and biggest splash.Extra points if it happens to be a muddy puddle.

that is how I learned to drive in the rain back in so cal.
Major bonus points if there is a white car in the muddy puddle splash zone!![]()

My daughter explaining after borrowing my 'Cruiser, why it was covered with mud; "Sorry Dad. I accidentally drove through a mud puddle... twice" I was so proud of her.![]()
My sister would drive out of her way to avoid taking her mustang through a puddle on the road or crawl through if she couldn't avoid. One day I was bringing her daughter and Babygirl home from high school in my Xterra after a rain storm, we took the long way home, past the junior high, bouncing in and out of the puddles.. Both girls full of giggles. You can imagine my niece's shock at hearing the story of how I was always late to first period in high school on rainy mornings because her mom had to test the waterproof abilities of her VW bug in every big rain flooded street in two towns on the way to school.. My algebra teacher knew I would be late if it rained and always excused me for the twenty minutes or so that I missed..
In the early 70's two of my three sons decided to take dads work car for a mud puddle drive one night. It took them all night to get a friend to pull them out and towed my car back home. They washed it and got all the mud off before dad had to go to work.
Dad hopped in his car only to find it had no clutch. I hopped in our other car, went to work and when I got home I checked to see if some linkage had broken. Boy, was I surprised to find a burned out clutch.
Our oldest son was away in college, but the other two were sitting waiting for dad to come into the house.
I told them to change their cloths, because they were going to replace the clutch in my car that night.
Today we can laugh and tell about that experience.

Whats up tonight Zonies????
I just got home from the Pumpkin Festival. Now I'm ready to enjoy a quiet, still, chilly evening at home. I may even build a little fire in pit out back (it's that kind of night) have a cocktail or two and watch the stars come out.
Later, I'll test the water temperature in the hot tub.
Could be... if I weren't alone.![]()
True..
It's still a beautiful evening. The stars seem extra bright tonight.
I am so looking forward to that view.. never dark enough here in the big city to really just gaze..
That's right. I forgot you are planning a trip back home. I hope we have nice weather and clear skies for you.
7 more days and I'll be in Havasu! I was hoping to be able to swing a trip down to phoenix but not looking like it is going to happen.
Look out Zonies! I'm coming home! Even if only for a week's visit..
Is there anything special we ought to be doing to prepare?![]()
