I know what you mean, I moved here in early 73... and I love it, but I have to say, I kinda like Tucson better..

OK, Gusty, and everyone.. here is my temporary AV... A picture I took of a sunset over the lake..

AZ

Why do you like Tucson better....personally I like the larger metro area. Although, the valley does make it a little warmer...

first.. just call me Majic or mrmajic.. which ever..

second, to answer your question..

I have been in the Metro Phoenix area, since 73, I have lived in Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Glendale, Sun City, and a number of point between...

I spent 5 yrs in Tucson, and then moved here to Mesa in Sept. of 97...

Tucson, is on the average of 5 to 10 degrees cooler (not always, but on the average).

The lifestyle of the general populace is a bit slower and more kicked back, and Tucson is currently just like Phoenix was in the 70's. Things to do, places to go, and just alot more friendly. It is spread out a bit, and a relaxed not in your face atmosphere.

AND... back in the 70's, Everyone in the phoenix area, supported the University.. now, very few do, In Tucson, the ENTIRE city gets behind the school.. but I will admiit... the students here are more adult than the students in Tucson, here they dont riot and burn buildings and police cars.. Here they dont throw rocks at the police, and they dont burn down the local businesses.

Over all, I lived in tucson for 5 years, and to me it was just alot better standard of living then Phoenix / Mesa Tempe, etc...

But this is only MY opinion.

Thank you .. thank you....

Majic

Interesting take...I agree with the university support, but believe it has more to do with the recent trend (or lack thereof) winning in the big two sports (based solely on TV time). Communities are much more involved and excited when there is the illusion of possible wins. Recently ASU has done well in sports that do not gain much air time...therefor it goes unnoticed.

Second, I can respect your opinion on the laid back atmosphere...but I creave the upbeat tempo for now, which is partly why I think Phoenix is a better fit...

Third, What beach did you take the picture?

Gusty, How are you doing? Anything exciting today?

peace

I think that the upbeat temp in the general Phoenix area is a bit like being in the back hills of Kentucky with the heat of mating in the air.. everyone is doing everyone elses sister or brother.. way to inbred for my citified tastes.. too much punk and gang issues in Phoenix.

ASU had big seasons in the past with plenty of Air time.. never got the community behind them, and I went to ASU in the 70's and early 80's... We had big wins, and big time air time.. Blimps at football games, national TV, winning the Rose bowl... etc... UofA gets TV all the time in tucson, and the whole city is u of a town... not just around the campus like it is here. Here it is just Tempe... there it is all of Tucson.

Picture is up at Apache lake last summer.

and the majic, is from tha fact that I am a Professional Magician. I have been performing Magic since I was a small child. be it AZMajician, MrMajic, Majic, or even my stage name which I dont use here..

majic

Well I cannot pretend to know about the inbreeding going on in dowtown phoenix since I have only been here a few weeks....however, if that is the case, I would have to agree....further, coming from an area adjacent to kentucky, I can say that it does not bode well for the future...LOL

Anyway, thanks for the take...

GUSTY...do you have a take?

Digit.... glad you understood the humerous manner in which I stated the "inbreeding" issues here in the Phoenix area.. Please be sure that I am not really trying to demean the people of Kentucky, I have many friends there and from ther... but I was trying to use that image and humor for some of the "antics" and "party" atmosphere I have seen here since I moved back from Tucson, and from the attitudes of some of the men AND women I have met in the last 5 yrs.. here in Mesa.

I have many friends here in the general Phoenix area and a few even here in Mesa.. but I would prefer to be in Tucson, If I could make that choice right now... of course.. right now I would love to be anywhere it was a bit cooler... lol

Howdy Everyone,I knew I was forgetting to post somewhere.....

Hope you are all doing well.....
