Leather is tanned to make it usefull
In Moroco, they have a hill where they have tanned for centuries.
The smell is bad, the work dirty, the chemicals caustic
It's amazing how the finished product can be so pretty and soft.
I would love to be able to put a nice leather bustier on Ms. Lady

But back on track, Being a safety and health dude,

Tanning leather is one of the last jobs that I would work.

A lot of things are nasty. Some jobs, some chores, some caring things. As much as I love my children: I hated to chance their diapers. The smell when I opened the dustbin... Never has been so disgusting and hopefully never will be again.
