AT&T or Verizon for Iphone?

I know this isn't really sexual-related, but what are your opinions on Verizon or AT&T because I am seriously having a hard time figuring out which one to go with. I'm not really a big phone user, but I text way more than I talk. With that being said, I need a smartphone for school/work so I can instantly access an internet database. So I'm going to go with an Iphone and need opinions.

Thanks.

Verizon.

Verizon's coverage and signals are waaaay better than AT&T's. I've been using AT&T's iPhone for the past ~3 years, this used to not be a problem when I was in Virginia, but last year I moved NY/NJ and started noticing problems in reception. My calls would just get dropped in the middle of a conversation when I'm walking around SoHo and this happened many times.

AT&T is trying to add more towers to fix their problem, so it is getting better, but I am still a bit wary. I guess the best way is to ask someone in your area with AT&T to see how their experience is.

I have the AT&T iPhone...I've had Verizon before - cancelled them w/in 4 months...couldn't stand to be nickeled & dimed by them.

I've had both, switched because I had to have an Iphone, lov th phone hate AT&T's coverage. I'm switching back once my contact is up and the Iphone 5 is out. The up side is I do like AT&T's packages for minutes, Data , ect for the money, but not enouph to stay.

I feel sorry for you Americans. Here in Australia we can use any phone on any network.

Verizon's coverage and service are generally better than AT&T, but that depends somewhat on where you are located. If you intend to travel around the country (particularly outside of major metro areas), you'll probably be happier with Verizon. However, their superior service and coverage is why their prices are generally higher with extra charges for everything. If price is a bigger concern, you'd probably be happier with AT&T.

I have AT&T, and I can count on one hand the number of dropped calls I've had. Most people I know with that problem are in the big, northeastern metro areas (I'm in a southern metro).

I like being able to talk on the phone and use the web at the same time, so I'd never switch to Verizon.

I use Verizon in Texas and dropped calls are common, especially if you are driving.

AT&T has had problems with capacity in large cities and coverage in some places, but have been improving. The 3G technology that AT&T has (UMTS/HSPDA) is faster than Verizon's EVDO, and as others have pointed out, allows you to talk and use the Internet at the same time. Both carriers are migrating to super fast LTE technology, and Verizon is ahead in this, but an LTE iPhone is not expected until at least next year. Both carriers' LTE coverage will be spotty for the next few years, so even with an LTE phone you have to consider the drop-back technology that the phone will use.

Unless you live in a very large city, I like AT&T. If you are in a very rural place with no coverage, AT&T has a gadget that lets you use your home internet connection to make and receive calls and data.

YMMV.

At&t

I recently was forced to Verzion.... do to coverage. This was a work fone. Verzion sucks. I don't care about "how great there coverage is suppose to be". After the first bill came, I was appalled...Ill give up the oh so great coverage, for cost any day. my lost att coverage is in a very small area, when I drive 5min, i have full bars.

Go with ATT, hell go with sprint. plus, check out the HTC phone....or LG. With att your data package might be less for these phones:cattail:
