ATL May Litogether

I meant for dinner. I won't be at the play party part.

I don't plan on changing, so it is the same for me.

And pardon me Fellas, but I really don't care how you dress. aaaaahahahaha
This is a 'WOMAN' thing. But thanks for the input.

LOL

Mmmhmm, and if the guys all came in suits and you wore jeans, you would be unhappy with us. More importantly, I am setting down the important truth that I won't be wearing a suit, period. I don't want any weirdness as a result. If dinner is a suit and tie affair, that statement would elicit a comment from the planning committee, and I would know how to modify my plans appropriately.

It is not all about you ADR. Just a solid portion of it.

;)

I never said it was all about me and if I've given that impression, I sincerely apologize.

Since I'm not party to any play, it's obviously not all about me.

I'm figuring on wearing something for dinner and changing for the "play" party, though I don't really have anything fetishy-looking, anyhow. I'd like to know just how nice dinner is going to be because I don't want to be the only one who's inappropriately dressed. What I think constitutes "nice" might not be what others think constitutes nice.

So...Gigi?

This is what she wrote before:

Alright, cats and kitties.

How's this sound?

May 2nd- Depending on when everyone arrives, we will meet around 8ish at The Highlander (http://www.thehighlanderatlanta.com/) for casual drinks, dinner, meet and greet & conversation There is a great game room and a open patio, both of which are condusive to meeting up with no formality.

May 3rd- I know Geoff and Janey will be busy during the day, and I will more than likely be acting as tour guide, lets leave the day time up to the individual. If we want to gather together during the day, lets leave that up to figuring out Friday night once we've had a chance to meet each other.

Since the clubs seem to be less condusive to meet-n-greet situations, I thought it might be nice to all meet together some where, again, and have a really nice sit down dinner. Casual to Sunday dress at a location later to be determined around 8:30 or so, then afterwards possibly meet back at my house demo, roping, etc (depending on where I live at the time and what sort of set up it is) or meet up at a place called Spring4thCenter. Each Saturday night they cater to the Fetish crowds with a late night after-parties and plenty of 'room to play' so I've heard. I will definately check into it more as the time grows closer. Any suggestions would be greatly appriecated.

May 4th- Recovery brunch at American RoadHouse. Probably closer to 1 or 2 depending on when people are needing to departe and how many people are still around.

How does all this sound to everyone? Of course this is all tentative and free for change. Please put your two cents in the coffers to the left and let me know what you think. Thanks for your patience.

Also, I've been thinking about Saturday evening. I am with ADR and several others- I am not into public play, but I would really hate for us to miss out on an opportunity to meet and hang out in a comfortable private setting. Geoff is right, my house is/will be too small to accommodate any sort of play or even a party. So my solution is this. There is an amazing FABULOUS hotel in midtown Atlanta called the Georgian Terrace that has two and three bedroom suites for EXTREMELY reasonable rates. I also know a guy who works for Travelocity (fellow kinkster) who might be able to help me get a deal. (He owes me) I'll post a discription of the room-style below.

So what would everyone think about a getting a room like this for Saturday night instead of going to a public club? With the suite having multiple rooms, and being a private setting, I think I would be more comfortable; not that I would play in any case. Those who want to play, can, and those who don't want to participate can still interact in a casual, comfortable private setting with the people they've traveled all that away to see. What does everyone else think?

Room Description: The Two-Bedroom Suite measures an average of 1,300 square feet of living space. The spacious and elegantly appointed two-bedroom suites feature two separate private bedrooms, one or two separate bathrooms, a living/dining area. Antique-style furnishings include a glass-top table, an armoire entertainment cabinet with cable television, comfortable full-size sofa, chair and ottoman and coffee table. The two private bedrooms feature a queen size bed in each bedroom with matching armoire-dresser, cable television and a clock radio. The two-bedroom suite also includes large closets, a washer/dryer, full-size ironing board with steam iron and comfortably large bathroom with a hair dryer and other luxurious amenities. Many of these suites have sliding glass doors with balconies. Each two-bedroom suite is individually climate-controlled and has large windows that can be opened.

Note: I'm going for casual not Sunday dress.

Goodness, it was a joke, honey. Seriously, I'm not irritated. See the smiley up there =P

Black danskos, dark jeans, and a cute t-shirt for me :) Maybe if the weather's really warm I'll trade the jeans and clogs for nice shorts and a pair of sandals. Hair worn long and straight. A little makeup. Attractive, but not trying to attract attention. I think that's the look I'll go for...unless everyone else is dressed to the nines in which case I'll darken my eyeliner and add (small) heels, maybe.

Then it's all up to fury. And when she's not around, we will just be 2 pathetic, wandering women.

Hat shopping!!!! Don't forget.

I can't wait to see you guys!!!

I think I know where to wander to find some fine hats to put on our pathetic heads! (Esp in Asheville, but I have some ideas about hat locating in Atlanta as well.)

IF I make it there, it will primarily be black (d'oh!), and not fancy. For one thing, I think I only have one "semi-fancy" shirt. Almost all the rest are polos. No ties. Gave 'em up years ago. Probably black tennis/running-type shoes, because leather ones don't fit my feet right and make 'em hurt after an hour or so.

This is pretty much the Top Uniform of Choice, eh? I'm heading to a club tonight and will be wearing black slacks, a black button up, and black shoes. Soooooo fashionable. Go me.

I have relatives in that area. Here's hoping we aren't related :D

And the art part... let's don't forget that too. Especially in Ashville. I want to see that part.

Now for the questions all ladies want to ask:
What should I wear to this event? How should I dress? What is everyone else wearing?

I once met a bunch of Lit people who were visiting in Las Vegas (this was 5 years ago) and they told me that we'd be clubbing after dinner. I dressed for that and all the ladies came in levi's and t-shirts. Jesus, did I ever stick out...

Um, it depends on what fits and on the weather. For me, most likely, capri pants and a top. I don't own anything dressier than that anymore and I definitely don't own anything sexier any more. It could be levi's and a top also. Lets be comfy.

Hell, all you have to do is sit on my big front porch for that. The next door neighbor does metal sculpture. :) We'll do galleries or whatever trips our triggers.

That sounds great. I saw some great metal sculptures in Taos, NM a few years ago and wanted to buy some so badly. I love that stuff.

Does he do any flamingo-y things?

I'm counting the days... ;-)

Hey, I would much prefer jeans-casual for dinner. Then I wouldn't have to change later. :p

You and me both babe. :rose:

Hey y'all. Sorry, I've had guests all day today and been apartment shopping. I hope I found 'the' one I will be living in come this time in May. So cross your fingers, everyone.

As far as dressing for Saturday night. Please feel free to wear what you'd like. I know I will be dressed in my usual fashion. Since late Spring here in ATL tends to be HOT and HUMID, I wouldn't suggest jeans... but that is just me. I know I will more than likely be in some sort of dress- be that a sun dress or something more fancy who knows just yet. Every one needs to give me an idea, though, of what you want to eat on Saturday night. Help me make the choice of where to eat by telling me what you want to eat.

It's just as hot here as it is there. ;) So I totally get it.

Ok, to me, a sundress isn't casual attire. This is what I mean when I say I need to know how fancy we're going to be. I don't own anything really nice because I'm a college student, and I just don't have the money. So if we need to dress up, I need to know very soon, so that I can a.) set aside money for clothing and b.) be able to find something in my size and price range.

I'm absolutely not trying to be a bitch here, but I don't feel comfortable in surroundings that aren't pretty casual. I can eat pretty much anything, but if I feel like I'm going to humiliate myself in public, then I'd just as soon not go. I'm just getting the feeling that this is going to be a fancier thing than I'd assumed, and I neither have the money or the social graces for that. Obviously this isn't my get-together (duh!), but that's just my two cents. I just want to feel comfortable, wherever I end up. :)

I can completely understand what you are saying and feeling here. Be calm in the fact I will make sure everyone attending is comfortable wherever we go. Most likely we will go to some place like the Spagehtti Factory for dinner Saturday. Please wear what ever makes you feel comfortable and don't measure your dressings to what I will be wearing. HEH, I'm always over dressed. It's compensation I suppose. *giggles* But, please don't fret or worry. We ALL are gonna have a a great time and clothes should be the least of our worries.

I can eat just about anything. Anywhere is fine with me. I'm not picky at all.

I'm the girl you see in August wearing jeans. (I wear shorts, too, but mainly jeans.) I'm used to the heat, so that won't be a factor for me.

Ditto, Bunny! I had in mind a pair of jeans and a nice top, that's casual to me. (Unless you are talking business casual, LOL.) But if the attire is fancier, I will have to go invest in something.
