Nailing down the logistics

So I'm definately in. Flying down Friday afternoon. Meeting folks that night. I'll either room that night with TMS or... (this is where I need your input) ...

If the vast majority are staying at the Georgian Terrace we may book there for Fri and Sat nights. If all the fun folks are staying elsewhere we'd like to know so we can book nearby. So where are people booked/staying if you're willing to share of course

Has anyone made plans for during the day Saturday for those who will already be in Atlanta, or is each group/couple doing their own thing. Gigi mentioned at some point being a tour guide I think just wondering what that entails or if I should start checking out brochures to go see museums and whatnot.

What is appropriate attire for the play party? The rest of the time it sounds like the dress code is casual.

Gigi, not trying to steal your thunder...I think you've done an amazing job organizing and setting the schedule and restaurants. Definite kudos are deserved for all your hard work. Sry to harp about logistics now...I'm flying in and don't know the city, so figuring out the hotel is the next step it seems. I'll be hoofing it Friday and Saturday until K arrives so we both want to know I have a home base where I can dump my stuff and hang out if the heat sucks away my energy...

I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys. And hopefully seeing rope work. And someone being fisted if twysted is coming. Eating lots of excellent food. Seeing Atlanta for the first time. Shopping or slipping into art galleries. Being someplace waaaarm. Mostly meeting everyone. And the broccoli of course. See you all soon I hope.

Yes, it was Des. And I have tickets and room reservations... I'm not bailing this time. (I got really sick last year. But I got a flu shot this year LOL.)

This is really a very relaxed and casual event. I am not planning anything for the group during the days, only planning the nights. I'd really rather not try to schedule things out for everything, that way everyone has the chance to get with whom they want and do as they like. I will be entertaining my personal guests, but other than that I haven't really thought about the day time events yet.

Just come as you are. What ever you are wearing to dinner will be just fine for the play party. If you are going to be demo'ing or scening, I suggest what ever you feel comfortable in for play and a change of comfortable clothes for afterwards. Remember, you will be in a semi-public setting.

You aren't stealing anything. I posted, a page or so back, information for an inexpensive (I loathe the word 'cheap') hotel just up 75 and minutes from the GA Terrace. I don't know if anyone is interested in staying there though. If you are flying in, I am more than capable and willing to shuttle you to and from the airport to your hotel, so don't worry about transport right now. Hopefully everyone will be sharing their lodging information here so that you can get a feel for where everyone is staying. I hope this helps you. Everything will fall into place, I promise. We still have a whole month till we 'litogether'. Just relax and enjoy, ok?

Unfortunately I won't be able to join y'all in Atlanta for personal reasons but I do enjoy collecting info on great restaurants for future reference for my travels. So...I've never heard of this place you mentioned, "8ish." Do you recommend it for reasons of regional cuisine or ambiance, or both?

Cool, cool. Snooze should be coming down Saturday, so roomies for Friday it is and then Saturday I'm gonna cut out on ya and stay with him. It's probably old hat to mention this, but some people are highly leery of having their pics taken in such a situation.

Also, as you all have seen on my threads, I blur the faces of anyone that does not explicitly consent to have their faces exposed. Obviously I don't mind, but I also carefully choose the pictures I show with me in them.

Should anyone I work on not wish to have photos taken, I'm fine with that. should they consent to photos, and not want them posted on the net, I'm fine with that too. Obviously, I would like to be able to post them here, but I can certainly dig why someone might not want them posted, even with faces blurred.
