The odds aren't great, but I was curious about the mileage. It's actually doable but Mother's Day isn't the best time for me to claim that I need a weekend to myself, iykwim.

I'm sorry but I didn't realize that was Mother's day weekend.
Like celebrating my birthday, I can celebrate any holiday, any time. It doesn't have to be THAT specific day, but I do understand that not everyone is like me.
And I understand that it's not a time that is good for some.
I do apologize for that. It's the best time for me because of my paychecks... ;-D

I remember last year there was some kink event Easter weekend. I can't miss that with the kids. Mother's Day, no prob.

Hmmmm... AT this point I can answer "maybe".
1st weekend in May is the DragonCon Staff meeting AND T3WD's demo... I already have a conflict there I will need to resolve... however the staff meeting is on Sunday so maybe we'll just day trip it.
Since my mother passed away over a decade ago, and I'm divorced, Mother's Day weekend is not an issue for _me_, I'll just send the ex- a card thanking her for being such a great mom to our boys. But janey's Mom is still with us and that might be an issue for her.
IF janey and I go to the DC staff meeting, we may not be able to afford a second road trip the following weekend. I'd like to be able to make the run to Atlanta to meet ADR (since she stood me up last time she was supposed to visit this neck of the woods... ) , I might could swing travel to Atlanta both weekends if someone were willing to carpool and share a room (if janey is off the first weekend she will HAVE to work the second weekend... that's just about a given).
1763 usually has Drums of the Dungeon on the second Friday, a drum circle, dancing, and open play in the dungeon. And there is usually the Flesh & Fetish Ball the second Saturday of the Month - its a kinky swingers party hosted by SwingingAtlanta. I haven't attended either of these events yet. I'm more familiar with the Atlanta Regional Munch on the 1st Saturdays, and CAP (Community At Play) on the 3rd Friday and Whippersnappers (Under 40 crowd, I get in as a guest of janey! *LOL*) on the 3rd Saturday.
Anyway, I'll see how things works out...

I don't have a lot of obligations in my life. I work and I sleep. And somewhere in all that excitement, I do laundry.
If that weekend is not good for everyone, pick another. I've not booked my flight yet. I can come any weekend in May.
If you are all planning on a lit-thing, and it would work out better on another weekend for most of you, that's okay with me. I'm not so self centered to believe that you are all planning on this thing just because I'm going to be there. But I would love to have the chance to meet any and all of you who want to meet me.
Soooo.... I can change my plans to suit the majority. Most anything would work out fine for me. I just only miss one day of work by doing a Fri-Mon thing. That's the only part that matters to me, really.
