one you shouldn't do... pour boiling water into a plastic "concertina" container and then tighten the lid... the idea was to clean it before using it again for photo chemicals.

nothing exploded... just! i quickly poured cold water onto the container and it cooled it enough. phew!

I did have a rather messy thing when i mixed photo chemicals (colour ones), thought i'd be clever and mix them in a container, rather than an open jug. nope nope nope!

almost... the body was soft plastic, the stopped harder, so it closed tight... poured cold water over it to stop it bursting with the steam build-up and then waited until it was cool enough to open.
