Avatar: Lightning strikes (OOC)

*points cane at Lily in dramatic fashion* SLACKER!!

I'm aiming towards wrapping things up between Ryota and Xia within the next couple of exchanges. Mostly just need to see if she'll catch onto and accept his offer of sharing a room for the night before cleaning up to prevent any of Zuko's guests from sitting in anything unpleasant at a later date.

Of course, he could just leave the wet spot there as petty revenge against the Fire Nation, but that's the Monarch in me speaking.

he isn't meant to be chockful of smex...

and I happen to think Tatsuo is very huggable

He does look rather adorable, but we both know fangirls prefer the angsty bad boy types. *cough*Zutara*cough*

Yeah, I'm still alive...just rustling through some ideas. Carry on, nothing else to see here.

Okay.

Somebody has to say it.

:: pauses, looks around ::

Awh, c'mon, it shouldn't have to be me. I'm not even an "Akira" fan.

:: pauses again, then sighs, and flings both fists into the air ::

TATSUOOOOOOOOOOOO!

My guy's hotter*. And he doesn't look like he's striking a pose for an online personals page.

*apologies for the unintended pun used when comparing the smex factor of respective Fire Nation citizens.

You know, if you guys ever wanted to actually test which one was hotter, settle this once and for all, I have this technique. It's a tried and true method for testing two guys' smexiness at once...

:: blushes fiercely ::

...and, um. I promise to be impartial.

Yeah, winding down. :: wince ::

Again, sorry about the delay everybody. I tried to get a Xia reply wrangled the other night, it just didn't happen, and last night I had to get caught up on "LDoK," so.

(I has the dumb.)

TATSUOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A most excellent impression of Ty Lee on their wedding night.

But, yeah, I was pretty tempted to make the Akira reference, but showed remarkable restraint in doing so. I'm rather proud of myself, actually.

Your dirty mind both shocks and appalls me!

And yet, I'm cautiously curious... *smirks*

I understand. My posts are simply so awesome where anyone and everyone ends up feeling intimidated when confronted by them. This is my curse, my gift. *slowly nodding in a show of his acceptance*

*blinks* I assume Akira is an anime...... but I've never heard of it before so..yeah

I chose Tatsuo because it means 'dragon male' and I figured his parents would've wanted to give him a strong name to reflect their hopes for his future....

Blasphemy! Outside of shows like Voltron and Speed Racer, Akira was the gateway anime for a lot of people. At least before everyone started following the fansubs of the latest filler ridden series based around overpowered and dues ex machina ridden characters which often take over a half dozen episodes for any actual plot development to take place.

Not that I have anything against Bleach, Lily. :p

Anywho, part of why I didn't say anything is because you're right about the dragon connection. Still, despite the single letter difference in names, you can't blame one for wanting to make the reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDm4FoWEpOA

my gateway animes were Sailormoon and Galaxy Express 999

>_> and Akira looks kind of freaky..

Isn't that also the Anime that Leo DiCaprio is working into a film?

*shudders*

*after quick search* Yes. Yes, apparently it is.

It's not kind of freaky. It's hella freaky!

And to this day, I still haven't seen Galaxy Express 999. Sucks for me, I know.

My gateway anime was "Nausicaä."

Miyazaki-san, FTW.

It was one of the first things I remember seeing after moving to The States.

To this day, I've never seen "Akira," nor do I have any plans to do so. But Joe Kelly made the "Tetsuoooooo" joke when he was writing my favourite run of Superboy.

And maybe it shows a lack of restraint? But if Joe Kelly passes you a torch...

I watched a couple of animes when I didn't know what it was such as Voltron, Speed Racer and G-Force when I was really young. Think the first series I watched where I knew the difference between Japan and western animation was the first arc of the original Dragonball series.

Then I caught DBZ and was a little disappointed when Yamcha got killed off but figured he'd resume playing a bigger part later in the series.

Damn Akira Toriyama.....

to them... I thought he did a pretty damn good job in Blood Diamond

..now watch me have that title wrong

ooo... I know nothing of modern day England so really have nothing to ask or say....

:: grins :: I'm really more American than British at this point.

But I cling to the old country, if only in spirit.

Hence my fascination with a certain Clever Blue Box.

Who doesn't love a Time And Relative Dimension In Space disguised as a blue police box?

Only Daleks.. that's who.

Is there something wrong with Leo DiCaprio?

I'm indifferent to Leonardo at this point, although I did go through the hater phase like many others after being bombarded with the little bastard during Titanic's reign at the box office.

It's more I'm not looking forward to another live action movie which will likely cast a mostly white ensemble of actors for parts which were originally Asian. But at least the different culture isn't as important when compared to how they play into the story for Avatar, and I may end up being pleasantly surprised anyway.

*watches as another commercial for Dragonball Evolution plays* God, I hate Hollywood.
