It's all in the delivery, really. Basso squees are extremely manly, if for no other reason than they are evidently quite hard to pull off.

Well, I'm also a Flute and Jack fanboy, but I suppose the second one may or may not technically count as an original creation. Or perhaps it's a co-creation between Mistress and cat?

Either way, Xia and Flute very much rock my socks.

Also, random thought, but it's sorta amusing how aside from the Air Temple trio, the bad guys are the only key players currently mingling with people outside of their respective Nation. Pft, great joining of the Four Nations indeed.

I actually had a thought on that. And I was trying to figure it out some, but I dunno.

Lunar asked me to pony Kayna for him (oh, that... that sounded dirty) for the time being, so. Maybe the reason she's not at base camp with the others is that she's out and about with a bunch of Kazuo's Firebenders. And, uh, Kurzen could run into that bunch, there could be a little tussle, and Kayna plays Benedict Arnold, joins Kurzen against the resistance, just for the chance to get "in" with the good guys and maybe maybe get a shot at Katara? She's got personal reasons for that, sure, but it'd benefit Azula no end if 'Tara got snuffed, Kayna'd jump on that mission like woah. Maybe play that she'd been captured by them, could give the Gaang intel about 'Zula's whereabouts?

And maybe Kurzen could take that information back to The Palace, get the ball rolling?

(It's really pretty half-baked so far, and I'm sorry for that.)

But, yeah, Kayna (profile!) was led, like Zhuang was, to witness Azula's escape. And after that, they sought her out and joined her.

Um. Were you going to have Kurzen arriving in North Chung-Ling? Or should the little band be someplace else when he catches up with them?

I can totally post to this regard. I just haven't been able to think the notion through enough.

Hmm? If you're talking about the reports mentioned in one of my earlier posts with Kaz', then it just meant they hadn't seen any search parties near the area.

Kurzen or others could have slipped in without notice if they kept inconspicuous about it. Especially since the city does need to freely allow travelers to come and go in order to keep up appearances (and is why Azula keeps her face hidden when walking the streets).

Plus, a fair number of 'grunts' in the underground rebellion aren't exactly military trained, so mistakes can happen when posting lookouts.

Well I definitely didn't imagine him just marching in with a whole squad decked out in armor. Right now he just wants a lead on her, as he's well aware engaging her in combat without the proper people (Aang, Katara, Zuko and the like) is just going to be suicide.
