Too bad it isn't possible to turn off just one person's AV. Guess I'll have to turn them all off.

MG, I thinking your AV is child porn. What's up with that?

for Rainbow:

but also still to do with my AV. Modigliani and Akhmatova met, either in Paris or London I think. They became enthralled with each other and he did numerous sketches and a painting of her. She was his ideal model I believe as she was tall and slim and had such an extraordinarily sad and exotic face, including that exquisite profile. I think I'll use some of the other like 'stroke' sketches now.

Perdita

attachment is painting by Nathan Altman; if it doesn't work I'll try later.

Your perception is wrong, obviously.

"Sirhugs" is a name I invented on dalnet, cause all other ideas seemed even lamer, and I was playing in a domination roleplay room . People got to know me by that name. Even after I quit the rp, I kept the name so frioends could find me.

When I discovered Lit, it was odly enough, available, so I kept it.
I kid of like the mix of authority " sir" and affection "hugs". also the ioncongurity, since it reflects my warped outlook on life.

The Av is recent. I searched for a cartoon of a battleweary knoght holding a wiilted rose ( anybody seen it?). Then bridgetkeeney and pookie found me this, resized it, anmd nagged me until I put it up. I'd love a few spares to switch around.

I never had an av until yesterday. I really did not look, and then, stumbled upon the current av.

As for the name, several years ago, I was trying to get into some chat format and my other nic was in use. I just strung together the letters, and never have had a name clash on the net since then.

The name comes from a friend who said that the pics I used to post online were wicked and erotic just like my writing. The AV is me. Why? Cause I can and I think it's the best pic I have of me. I change AVs now and again but I use this one the most.

Where can I find?

Where can I find a list of Avatars? I looked in the FAQ for the listing, and followed direction. But when it got to where the listing of Avatars should be, there wasnt any.

I wouldnt mind trying to find an avatar that fits my name. But I'm still new at that sort of thing. Can anyone help out?

As far as I'm aware, Literotica doesn't supply any avatars. Keep looking for one that suits - try doing a Google search for 'avatars' - or else design your own.

Those of us who have them all have more than 100 posts, so you have a while yet...

Well I use the chat handle "Vickster" online and it doesn't sound very
a) feminine
b) sensual

So i had to think about what i wanted for my handle,I wanted something to denote i was female so Lady and I chose English Lady in the end because it shows where I am from.

Ok well my AV is usually me or a bit of me, this one is arty farty,so as not to offend my visiting sister if she happens to see any of my posts!

You're a nice looking lady.

I have a mirror on my office wall when my boss pulls that "come to this meeting" crap on me when I'm the busiest (posting on Lit).

The ladies featured with my snake are friends, friend of a friend, friend's wives or girlfriends. I'm not doing that anymore (or for a while), but they are great memories.

The name "Anaconda" is the biggest black snake I could think of at the time.

My AV is me. It's the most recent photo I've got, and it's still 2 years old!

My nickname, "Mourning", comes from the fact that I've read Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, in which one of my favourite characters, XXXXXXXXXXX, died.

As soon as I start feeling better, I'll switch to something a little more cheerful.

Names

Cahab is short for Captain Ahab, a name I chose on another site both because of my literary pretensions, and a reputation for being a hunter of big white dick (sorry BS, it's nothing personal; I just never got that many black ones offered).

As for an AV; I'm working on that magic 100, but even then I'll have to work on sending you a piece of me. That digital camera just outside of my budget just now.

She's not old enough for that....oops :eek:

She's old enough to marry you and fuck you daily and have your kids, but she's not old enouh to be shown on Lit...

That's such hypocrisy!:rolleyes:

Avatars and the Meaning of Names

Well, I'm not much of a mass poster type person. So I have a feeling I'm going to be Avatarless for a while yet. Hehehe.

As to my name. Well, it's relatively simple story. I write poetry on occasion as well as being a first time erotic writer. I found out from a relative who had been tracing our family tree til way back when, that my family is a bunch of Bards. Hence the term BardsLady.

As a friend of mine put it: "Once you get touched by the sweet Siren's call of the Muse. You can never go back to what you once were."

How true that is.

Anyways, once I hit that special mark, I'm sure you'll be seeing an avatar sneak into my stuff.

Keep in touch,

BardsLady:rose:

lol Okay Alex I got the hint ;)

What I'm noticing here, is that we purposely chose all our nicknames, and we chose our AVs. Obviously we did it for a myriad of reasons, but mostly, we did it because we felt

a) our nicknames fit us as we were at the point of choosing,

b) our AVs have some significant importance to each of us.

~~~
To answer Alex's question, my nickname originated when I was playing backgammon and spades on MSN Zone (about a hundred years ago). I was pretty new to the internet when I found the Zone. The Zone programme generated several nicknames for me to choose from, needless to say they were all rubbish.
I chose this particular nickname because it is obviously me. I have a wild side that I generally only show to those who are very close to me... and I have a sweet side that most everybody has seen constantly.
As for my AV, well, what is more 'wild and sweet' than a flower? I drew it, and I'm proud of it.
I could use a myriad of drawings, but the sole time I switched I had a PM box overflowing with people having hissy fits. ;)
I was thinking about putting up a pic of myself, but I've basically decided against it. With my NZ series I've discovered there's a whole lot of NZers who tune in to Litland and sooner or later one is bound to recognise me. ;)
As for the thingy under my nickname 'I am what I am'. Well, that's me through and through. :)
