Bagged or Bagless Vacuum Sweepers?

I had a vax ,
someone gave me a Dyson ...
Both were meant to be bagless super-'hoovers'...

Infact they were nasty minded fascist bastards with a hate complex for rugs.

I like rugs.
I have rugs from all over the world.
Nice rugs...
some , not cheap rugs of middle eastern persuasions.

Both the vax and the dyson tried to eat the fuckers.

fuck vax,
fuck dyson...

what the fuck am I doing discussing 'hoovers'...

christ , more alcohol must be needed.
Where's the Jamesons...
Someone start a row.

or direct me to one.
come on Sean you Manchester bastud, you're usually good for getting some numpty going.

Oasis , the Gallaghers...
Beatle ripping off tossers.
Are they regarded as iconic ,
or just tossers ?

Post of the weekend, right here. And I learned another Brit slang, "numpty."

Those conventional vacuums, either bagged or canister don't work on the shed that the dogs and cats leave behind. I had to get a shop vac for this job. There is no way I am going back to using those weak ass, clogs all the time vacs. To empty it I just put the thing in a plastic bag and dump. Same with the filter, enclose it in a bag and shake.

I have a Bissel Momentum Canister Vac and it picks up cat and dog hair to the max. It's a fantastic vacuum.

The only thing that has clogged it was christmas tree needles.

I keep it in good running order though and take it to the garage several times a year and clean filters and all that with my air compressor.

I'll never EVER use a bagged vacuum again.

Have you ever emptied your bagless? What a mess! And washing those filters? Forget it! I had a bagless and got rid of it within a year...

Mine is easy as pie. slide a little handle and it's free, empty and put it in the tray and slide the handle back and it goes right up into the rubber seal.

Takes less than a minute to clean all three filters and I've never had to replace my hepa and mine is at least three years old.

The last reply to this thread was almost ten years ago and the question
remains: Which is better? Bagged or Bagless?

Well, I prefer bagged vacuum sweepers, but let me get back to the
original subject: What do you prefer? Bagged or bagless vacuum sweepers?

I have an old Hoover bagged vacuum and decided to purchase a new one.

To my amazement, the genuine Hoover website doesn't sell them anymore!

Has everyone gone mad? Vacuum sweepers with a bag are the easiest to
maintain and catch more dust than a bagless vacuum!

Bagless vacuums don't use bags, but they use expensive filters. Yeah, some
of them are washable but the manufactures state in the owners manual,
"for best results empty dust canister and clean filter after every use."

Jesus tap dancing Christ, that is ridiculous!

I use my Hoover once a week and change the bag every two or three
months. That's it. No emptying dust cups or washing filters!

Anyway I found on eBay that Hoover has an outlet store that is selling their
discontinued products, so I purchased a new Hoover Windtunnel Max.

In my opinion, anybody that purchases a bagless vacuum is simply entertained
by watching dust spin around in the canister and it's worth the effort to empty
and clean it after every use.

That's my opinion. What is yours?

Carpet is of the devil.

There isn't any anywhere in my house. I sweep with a broom.

Reads like a door-to-door vacuum salesman desperate to dump dirt on your floor.

Holy old thread, Batman!

I rather like my built-in vac. Clean the filter every 4 months or so.

Or so.

Some fine people in the older part of the thread.

I have never had a good vac. All have issues. But the biggest issue is that the bags always seem to be discontinued or not available anywhere near me. So... Cheap bagless and replacwe every few years.

Bagless and never going back.

I found that the bags would start to stink. Vacuum gets a bit hot from all that sucking (not funny), the heat makes the contents of the bag smell and by the time I finished vacuuming 1 room of the house, I am dragging this heavy, smelly thing behind me (bit like going out with the SO). I'm too cheap however, to change the bag when it's not full, because they tend to cost money...

Bagless. Definitely, just clean it after use and voila, no more smell! Plus, the little guy is a lot lighter and easier to manoeuvre, carry and store!

Next one will be bagless AND cordless. Anyway want to criticise that one?
