I spent most of the morning with my notebook open, writing descriptions of those I work with. That was before shit went down at work. Sometimes, people are better off just shutting their mouths, nodding, and going back to their cubicles.

Incredible the amount of non-sense I see with the 20somethings lately. They have to argue EVERYTHING, have to prove they're right, even when it's obvious they aren't.

One of the older women did tell a couple of those arguing, "This isn't the internet, where everything is up for debate."

Makes me glad that I'm semi-retired.

Hubby says book smart but no fucking common sense

I was told by them that "Old school ways of doing things aren't the best way to do things," which is to have customer input on how they want output - on screen and on paper. These kids say it's wrong, that we can't customize output for everyone, that it would make too much work for them.

Then came this morning's meeting, in which the COO and CIO both said we're now to give customized output, which led to the arguments.

And which led to ONE of the senior programmers, someone in her 40s, to spend an hour creating a macro that will read "Customer Output" files and print out the way they want. I have a feeling some kids will be seeing the Chief Information Officer on Tuesday.

These are the same people that complain that I have the bigger office, complain that I shouldn't, since I'm basically just a hired gun. Yeah, I have the bigger office and use both a laptop and desktop simultaneously, because some people are slackers.
