Very interesting thought. I don't think it does but deffo changes the type of humour. Some element of humour does make everyone feel at ease, especially if something happens that could otherwise be viewed negatively or overthought. Helps to ackowledge, make light of quickly and move on to show OK with things and then inspire something else in both partners quickly.

In my experience, having moved from vanilla to D/s with the same person.... We actually are more playful now then before. Our deeper intimacy and better communication, allow us to play and joke and tease more, without either of us taking any of it too seriously.
