No doubt this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything on it. Just wondering what sorts of lube people use to masturbate with. I guess I'm mostly interested in guys' responses, but if girls wanna reply, I'm keen to read.

So I use Wet Stuff at the moment which I like a lot but I'm wondering if there's anything that gives a different sensation. Maybe a little more friction or something? I dunno.

I've tried the heating stuff - meh. Oil doesn't really do it for me for some reason.

So what's good? Brands? Products not intended for this purpose? Anything?

KY liquid (or Target's brand)
Astroglide

I have some ID brand stroking lube, that's just whipped up petroleum jelly. I don't mind it, but my wife hates using it. pain to clean off too (as would be any silicone based lube)

hand lotion works as does hair conditioner, in a pinch (i.e. on vacation)

We've found Wet Original to be one of the better water-based lubes, if you want to stick with that route. KY Jelly and it's store brand equivalents should be avoided, as it'll get sticky and gummy in no time since it's not formulated to be a sexual lube.

Our absolute favorite for M and F masturbation, hand jobs, sex and anal is silicone lube. It's silky, heats to body temp quickly, waterproof, and lasts forever, so there's no need to break the action to reapply (provided enough is used in the first place, though a little goes a long way). More friction can be had by using less, and super-slick gliding action comes with a bit more.

$19.95 for a 16 oz. pump bottle of ID Millenium won't break the bank either, and is the best deal I've found on silicone lubes. We bought this bottle almost a year ago, use it for everything, and have maybe used two ounces so far. I'd normally worry about lube drying up or going bad, but because it's inert and silicone doesn't dry, it'll be good to the last drop.

I usually jackdry when I'm by myself but when the wife does it to me she uses hand lotion. She keeps it close by though cause you need alot and it drys out. Although I think I might try some of that silicone lube that SweetErika was talking about.

Besides what has already been mentioned, I hear a lot of men use lubricated condoms. I always thought it was strange but whatever works, you know?

Me personally i don't use any lube thats why i keep it shaved, but i once tried vasoline and don't let anyone tell you it's good i was pulling it off my cock for almost two weeks and the shit hurt everytime i went to the bathroom.

Thanks SweetErika,
The silicone gear sounds interesting. I noticed it says in the link you gave that it washes of with soap and water. Does soap get it off ok? Any odour?

thanks

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of using condoms. There's so much less sensation.

Plus, I think part of the good feeling of masturbating comes from your hand. When you use a condom, you lose that feeling.

I tread wearing a latex glove on my hand a couple of times, just for somethig different, but didn't really enjoy it. For the same reason, I suspect.

Which is like lard or fat, right? hmmm... I'm sure it's slippery, but I'm not sure about that one.

Haha, it's using fat to bat your fat!

LOL! Exactly! It's lard!

don't use crisco, lard, veg fat yucky! use a real lube

Yeah, you might as well use Vaseline which can cause a real nice infection. Stay away from lard. ;)

i would like to use something that I could also use as a massage oil. It would have to be really high quality, not loose the glide, and not full of chemicals because he has sensitive skin, and not smell bad or cause an infection. Affordability would be nice too. What do you suppose would then be the best oil? I've heard apricot kernal is good...

Yes, it comes off with soap and warm water. You have to agitate/rub it around a little, but we've had no problems getting it out.

One of the great things about silicone lube is it's moisturizing properties though. Often we only wash our palms with soap and water, and leave the rest on as a silky moisturizer. I even use it on dry skin at non-sexual times, and it makes a fantastic massage oil as well.

So, it's not one of those things like vaseline or sticky water-based lube that you need to get off of you right away. We haven't had a problem with staining bedding or clothing and it doesn't clog pores, either.

There's absolutely NO odor, and just a very slightly salty taste. I wouldn't swallow large quantities of it, but some in your mouth won't hurt you, and it doesn't absorb transdermally, so the silicone breast implant worries can be put away. :)

Honestly, I'd go for silicone lube for this as well. It's high quality, stays slick, has one or two ingredients and isn't allergenic, doesn't clog pores, has NO smell, won't cause infection, is time-tested, doesn't stain, moisturizes, and $19.95 for 16 oz. is a lot more affordable than many water-based lubes and expensive oils.

technically, lard is pig fat...so an animal fat..while crisco is hydrogenated vegetable oil....plant fat.

either way, I wouldn't jerk off with it.

on a few occasions I have used my own spit as a lube.

I use AstroGlide or Kama Sutra. Kama Sutra lasts a bit longer but is more difficult to clean from sheets. Both do the trick.

what's wrong with vaseline?

My gynocologist actually recommended Crisco to me one time as a lube. We dont use condoms and I'm allergic to everything under the sun. I haven't tried it yet, but might someday. I thought he was out of his mind for recommending that though.

Well I got me some silicone based lube today. I got Eros Essentails since it was the only thing I could find in local stores. I haven't tried it out yet but it seems very promising.

I'll post a review once I've taken it for a road-test later on ;)

aloe ahoy

try 100% aloe vera gel. you may need to reaply, but the smoothness and coolness is unbeatable...
