best lube for stroking?

silicone based lubricant review

Well I gave the silicone stuff a run last night.

It wasn't quite what I expected. It's a clear liquid with a slighty thicker consistency than baby oil. When I'd put a drop on my fingers earlier to see what it was like, it seemed very similar to water based stuff, except that it doesn't come off. It's even difficult to wipe it off with a towel or a tissue.

So I expected it to be pretty similar to water based, but it was more like a cross between baby oil and vaseline (petroleum jelly). It's very, very smooth but it's not slick like water based. You can't go at it hell-for-leather, the consistency of the stuff slows you down. The more you use, the slicker it becomes, but never to the point of water based. So I was batting away, and it was quite good, and then I'd remembered SweetErika saying that she used it as massage oil. So I decided to put a few drops on my balls and massage them while I went at it, and I've gotta say, that felt damn fine! All I could think about from then on was lubing up my hands with this stuff and massaging my girlfriends big, rounds breasts. Once I got thinking about that, it wasn't long before it was all over ;)

Even with soap, it's quite difficult to get it totally off you, but it doesn't matter. A thin layer seems good for your skin and won't rub off on anything (eg clothes, sheets etc).

So overall I really enjoyed it. I was after something different, and it definitely was, so thanks SweetErika and the others who mentioned it.

If you're the type of guy that likes to go at it at 300+ bpm then this stuff will probably frustrate you since you've gotta take it pretty slow, at least to start with. But otherwise, give it a go, it's something a bit different which is always good.

Anyway, thumbs up to the silicone. Is there anything silicone isn't good for? Computer chips, tits, lube, dildos.... I vote Si as the sluttiest element in the periodic table.

Glad you enjoyed it, Matt!

I haven't tried anything other that ID Millenium for silicone lubes, but have read the brands can vary in consistency and feeling. Eros is supposed to be thicker and more velvety that the other well known brands like ID. We haven't shared your experience with it not being as slick as waterbased or it slowing us down or not washing off with soap (err...though it can take a scrubbing to get off the shower floor -- still, the underwater fun totally makes up for that  ), so I'd venture to say that's the Eros brand, not silicone lube in general.

Most online retailers have pillow packs of lube for $1.50 or less, so it might be fun to experiment with some of the different varieties of silicone to see if another might fit your stroking needs better.

Eros' consistency is supposed to be the best out of the lot for anal play, if you're up for that.

Any uncut guys use lube?

Is it me, or is it mostly circumcised guys who need lube to masturbate? Everytime I read a thread like this it makes me get flustered, simply because men who are still intact can appreciate the pleasure of masturbating w/out lubrication... stroking with the benefit of mobile skin rolling over the head of their penis.

Am I reading too much into this? Perhaps I'm letting the anti-circ part of me take over...

Are there any uncut guys here who use lube to masturbate?

I am not circumcised. Yes, you can masturbate by rolling the foreskin back and fourth over the head of your penis. I'm not really a fan of it though. I find that using lube and not utilising the foreskin at all is much more pleasurable.

As I mentioned previously, it's partly the feeling of your hand on the head of your penis that makes it good. When you roll the foreskin over the head there is almost no friction (since it's rolling) and I don't know about other guys, but for me, friction is good. Using the foreskin is kinda like masturbating with a condom on, it feels ok but is frustrating.

Also, when I'm fully erect, my foreskin isn't really big enough for it to roll over the head of my penis comfortably. So for me, it's not particularly practical.

So sorry to dampen your flusteresness (yeah, I know that's not a word) but lube is still the go for uncircumcised men. The foreskin may get a run very occasionally, but just for something different.

Yeah, I guess thicker and more velvety is a good way to explain it.

I know what you mean about the shower floor ;)

Thanks again SweetErika, I will try some other brands if I get the chance.

I'm still using it and still liking it, by the way. For some reason I seem to be able to masturbate intensley for longer without feeling like I need to blow, which is great. Not sure why this is, though. Must be something to do with the consistency and level of friction. Anyone else experienced this with silicone?

As for anal play, I'm up for it, unfortunately she's not

Please don't be led astray by these amatuers...although the silicone could have possibilities....MORE on that later...But....ahemmm....as I was saying. The best, hands down, jackoff lube on the market today is "Cocoa Butter"...Try it and you'll never have to suffer this embarassment again!

LOL, I tried silicone (wet platinum) for the first time a while back, too. and I'm a fan. Before that I LOVED astroglide, and still do, but silicone is awesome cuz it doesn't get sticky and makes a GREAT skin moisturizer! SOmetimes I put it on my mound/lips/thighs, after shaving, or even at other times just to soften my skin!

Me personally i don't use any lube thats why i keep it shaved, but i once tried vasoline and don't let anyone tell you it's good i was pulling it off my cock for almost two weeks and the shit hurt everytime i went to the bathroom.

LOL

poor thing

What I found was right here on literotica.. Slick'em
by redice ©.. Its a great lube and easy to make.. Also alot of fun at times. :p

The best lube is female saliva. I've tried vasoline and ky but they weren't as much fun :p

Forget Lube, use powder!

When I was in percussion we discussed masturbating a lot and one person admitted to using GoldBond. He said it tingled and whatnot, I never tried it.

I seldom use lube, except shower water. But I have found that when i do, stroking doesn't feel right and I much prefer rubbing. Rubbing gives a much different orgasm feeling, almost makes me feel like I have to pee really badly.

As a woman who at times feels like the queen of handjobs, (ouch, damn aching wrists!), I really like the silky slide of ID Glide in the waterbased version. We have tried a lot of products, but this one keeps winning out time and again or durability, wetness and silkyness, mild flavor that won't make you gag, and it can be reactivated with either saliva or water. P.S. this one can hold up to the heavy drool of a hour long blowjob....this lube is a girls best friend if you are heading for a long, long session of mouth play. Plus, it goes straight into vaginal sex without irritation and because it is waterbased, it is really easy clean up.
