Bigger Men Appreciation Thread!

I'm a whore for amazon. I can't help myself. But I did look into the sony reader and a few others, and they just weren't what I wanted and the displays all hurt my eyes. I expected to have some buyer's remorse at some point, but I haven't at all. I own the Kindle 1, and got to inspect a Kindle 2 on Feb. 24 (release day!) and I truly like mine better. I think the new ones look like an oversized ipod. If mine croaks, I'll upgrade, but I'm not sure if I would have bought the Kindle 2 initially, its looks just don't appeal to me.

Ack, I sound like I'm discussing my choice in men. Go figure.

BBQ...I heard that sex was the best thing for migraines to...;)

Actually the best medicine I got for my migraines was when I was in the Army. Unfortunately I was told those medicines are not allowed anymore....wish I could remember what they were. Now they give me a shot of Staidol when I get a migraine. I do not remember the rest of the day after that, but the headache is gone. My doctor learned quickly that if I show with migraine it has to be bad, because I have very high tolerance to pain...

Something about the natural endorphins, etc. I wouldn't know about that remedy....couldn't ever get it more than 2 or 3 times a month , much less when I had a headache! :(

I've known several people who get shots of different meds....and love them. I take a daily preventative...works great for me....been over two years. Too bad it was after it helped me lose two good jobs.

Midrin. It's been the only thing that ever worked for me. I've been a fellow migraine suffer since I was about 8 years old.

I'm not saying it works for everyone, and it kinda knocks you out for a few hours, but it is my blessing when one comes.

I also recently had my wisdom teeth out, and it helped a lot. In fact, that was in November, and I've only had one relatively minor one since. Previously, I've missed days of work, social engagements, dates, etc. I wouldn't wish those monsters on anyone. When the beast rears its head, all I want is earplugs and a dark room.

Dark room and ear plugs? AMEN!! No matter how many people I talk to, it's almost always that no drug seems to work on more than just that one person. It's like a constantly changing list of causal factors, and remedies, and it's almost impossible to help anyone else with YOUR remedy because it doesn't work. It's interesting yours went down in frequency after your wisdom teeth were pulled...must've impacted the blood vessels somehow. Mine started when I was 29. Had wisdom teeth out about 3 years prior.

On for a little while. Sorry about flaking out last night, but something came up.

Hey hey! Look who's back.

Glad you disappeared when you did. It enabled me to get some editing done. I sure don't want a bunch of crabby authors cause I'm too busy chatting up strangers to mind their run-on sentences.

Holy crap! 8 yrs old? i didn't know wtf a migraine was until i was in my mid 20's.
i just remember waking up telling my roomie my head felt like it was being split open..and i was real nauseous too.
The dark room thing..yep..i agree.
I may have to ask about that medicine.

I think the universe was out to punish me at a young age. They thought it was a million other things, including that I needed glasses, which I did, but I digress. . . they eventually decided that it was migraines, no one asked how or why, but luckily that's the only real health problem I have, and for me they are fairly preventable. Red wine is my biggest trigger, but recently it hasn't bothered me either so I'm drinking all I can while I can. Chocolate also triggers them, which was a nightmare, but I've made my peace there too. I'm 26 now, so I've spent 2/3 of my life dealing with it. I don't know why they've suddenly gotten less frequen and less severe, but I thank my lucky stars.

LoL I would prob think that too, that i was being punished..that is really young.
And chocolate doesn't bother me..yay for that. but certain smells do get me goin. Tar, the smell of a skunk (weird ik), certain flowers and floral scented perfume. I work with the public too..sometimes it gets tricky lol with the perfume thing. *Nausea*
..And drink up gurl lol i'm all about some Merlot!:D

So how are things today for everyone? Anything fun and exciting happening? I'm too doped up on cough meds right now to do much besides what I'm doing, lol. Off work too, which is always fun.

*sneaks in to leave some Happy Muffins for the gentlemen*

Props for the thread, I cant help but admire a man with both muscle and something to go over it.

If there weren't 'teddybears' for us girls, what would we snuggle?

*sneaks back out*

Yeah, washing and dressing in clothes is always a good sign, lol. And I've always felt that bigger guys just had extra "stuff" to offer.

like stuffing!

and they can keep you warm on those long cold nights....
Peter Griffan had the idea when he hired himself out for body heat for that twiglike actress....

hello to everyone today!

Off topic rant:

Would anyone here be offended by someone telling you that you would have made a great kindergarden teacher?

Because I apparently offended a co-worker (who is a happy-married and has school age children and talks to me about science projects) by saying that to her months ago.

I'm at a loss.

I totally agree. I always have liked guys who have a little extra, especially if they are tall too (since I am fairly tall). For some reason smaller guys seem to be intimidated by me. Go figure...

Don't you just love intimidating men? Lol. It annoys the crap out of me. I always threaten to just cut off my right breast and be an Amazon warrior. See? Problem solved. At least then I'd understand being intimidating.

Same here
well I dunno....i'm quite ignorable...despite being 5'9 and rather curvy.

What an odd thing to get offended over! It's not as if you said she'd make a TERRIBLE kindergarten teacher!!! I guess there are some folks who just aren't happy unless they're upset about something. Buy her some Easter Peeps and a chocolate bunny and she'll get over it.:D

Hi!!!

I just saw this thread, can't believe I've missed it ^^

Anyway, wanted to say hi - I'd love to stick around more and chat - but unfortunatly, I'm just heading out the door. But you deffinatly have someone who'll pop in from time to time :D

Anyway, just to say, I fit in with the thread's title:

6'10", 300lbs, and broad shoulders. Not exactly a tiny guy :D

Put me on the list for one of those!

It's been a long time since I got be girly and giddy and cutesy. I think I miss it!

A few inches for me makes any one of them well above the average American man.

I think I'll go shufle off and find a bow and arrow and learn how to use it. . .

Holy christ! That would make you in the tie for the 3rd tallest I've found! I assumed that 10 was a typo. So I looked at your profile. . . and it was either a double mistake, or you are reaching a new level of awesomeness. Clear me by nearly a foot? Yay! Go giants! <3
